Ron Ritchhart is a Senior Research Associate at Harvard Project Zero and author of Making Thinking Visible: How to Promote Engagement, Understanding, and Independence for All Learners, Jossey Bass, 2011. Ron shares background information about thinking routines and some suggestions for teachers. Using digital technology, Densho provides online access to personal testimonies, historic photographs and documents, an encyclopedia, and teacher resources about the World War II incarceration of Japanese Americans. We encourage students to explore principles of democracy by asking questions, and engaging in conversations about civil liberties.
