History of Morocco
The history of Morocco spans over twelve centuries, without taking classical antiquity into consideration.
Archaeological evidence has shown that the area was inhabited by hominids at least 400,000 years ago. The recorded history of Morocco begins with the Phoenician colonization of the Moroccan coast between the 8th and 6th centuries BC, although the area was inhabited by indigenous Berbers for s

The Almoravids.
The Almoravids (Berber: Imṛabḍen, Arabic: المرابطون Al-Murābiṭūn) were a Berber dynasty of Morocco, who formed an empire in the 11th century that stretched over the western Maghreb and Al-Andalus. Founded by Abdallah ibn Yasin, their capital was Marrakesh, a city they founded in 1062. The dynasty originated among the Lamtuna and the Gudala, nomadic Berber tribes of the Sahara, traversing the territory between the Draa, the Niger, and the Senegal rivers.
The Almoravids were crucial in preventing the fall of Al-Andalus to the Iberian Christian kingdoms, when they decisively defeated a coalition of the Castilian and Aragonese armies at the Battle of Sagrajas in 1086. This enabled them to control an empire that stretched 3,000 kilometers north to south. However, the rule of the dynasty was relatively short-lived. The Almoravids fell - at the height of their power - when they failed to quell the Masmuda-led rebellion initiated by Ibn Tumart. As a result, their last king Ishaq ibn Ali was killed in Marrakesh in April 1147 by the Almohads, who replaced them as a ruling dynasty both in Morocco and Al-Andalus.

Almohad Caliphate.
The Almohad Caliphate (Berber: Imweḥḥden, from Arabic الموحدون al-Muwaḥḥidun, "the monotheists" or "the unifiers") was a Moroccan[5][6] Berber Muslim movement founded in the 12th century.
The Almohad movement was started by Ibn Tumart among the Masmuda tribes of southern Morocco. The Almohads first established a Berber state in Tinmel in the Atlas Mountains in roughly 1120. The Almohads succeeded in overthrowing the ruling Almoravids in governing Morocco by 1147, when Abd al-Mu'min al-Gumi (r. 1130-1163) conquered Marrakech and declared himself Caliph. They then extended their power over all of the Maghreb by 1159. Al-Andalus followed the fate of Africa and all Islamic Iberia was under Almohad rule by 1172.
The Almohad dominance of Iberia continued until 1212, when Muhammad III, "al-Nasir" (1199–1214) was defeated at the Battle of Las Navas de Tolosa in the Sierra Morena by an alliance of the Christian princes of Castile, Aragon, Navarre, and Portugal. Nearly all of the Moorish dominions in Iberia were lost soon after, with the great Moorish cities of Cordova and Seville falling to the Christians in 1236 and 1248 respectively.
The Almohads continued to rule in Africa until the piecemeal loss of territory through the revolt of tribes and districts enabled the rise of their most effective enemies, the Marinids in 1215. The last representative of the line, Idris al-Wathiq, was reduced to the possession of Marrakesh, where he was murdered by a slave in 1269; the Marinids seized Marrakesh, ending the Almohad domination of the Western Maghreb..

Bellow quote from video:
When "Negroes" dominated "Arabs" part 1 (ignored aspect of history)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dncFIFYPIXE
"The king of Zafun is stronger than the veiled people of the Maghreb and more versed in the art of kingship. The veiled people acknowledge his superiority over them, obey him and resort to him in all important matters of government. One year the king, on his way to the pilgrimage, came to the Maghreb to pay a visit to the commander of the Muslims, the veiled king of the Maghreb, of the tribe of Lamtuna. The Commander of the Muslims met him on foot, wheras the king of Zafun did not dismount for him. He was tall, of deep black complexion and veiled."
"Black" people (Sudan plural) are associated with lord in Arabic! It is written in their language!
This information comes from Quranite, another youtube user
"the root for sud is the same root for siyaadah (lordship or predominance) and sayyid (lord or noble)"
"The root of the most common word used for 'black' and black people is saada. This word is literally composed of the Arabic letters seen, waw and dal. The first makes an s sound, the other makes a 'w' sound and the last is a 'd' sound. We often see Sudan as it relates to the country or as an ancient reference to blacks. More commonly now in Arabic you will hear sud. Sud and Sudan are both plurals of black (aswad). Although sud can also mean 'blackness' which can also be said 'sawaad.' Beed means whiteness or whites. Beedan also means whites, abyad means a singular white person or thing. And bayaad can also means whiteness. As we saw in www.savethetruearabs.com although this can be used for people in Old Arabic it was not commonly used for very fair skinned people. Ashqar is Northern European white or blond. Anyway, the root for sud is the same root for siyaadah (lordship or predominance) and sayyid (lord or noble). Aswad and Asyad in Arabic form can be interchangeable and can both mean most noble. A good example of this is siyaaq and siwaaq both meaning drivers. And there are other examples of this. This has more to do with the roots and origin of words. Arabic is mostly based on roots. Understading these things however can also offer alternative translations to texts. However the intention of the writer should be taken into context using other texts from the same author to find clues as to his/her understanding of the words he/she used. "
Now about the bellow quote from Leo Frobenius. To me this shows some evidence that influences could be in both directions so it is not downplaying Islam but rather showing how these "Sudanese" were a big part in the development of Islam. Perhaps it was more of a case of people of the south influencing the north. Some could say Islam is a twin brother of African Christianity. Bellow quote is from:
"The idea of the 'barbarous negro' is a European invention"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LbRLo7YT_y0
"In the last century the superstition ruled that all high culture of Africa came from Islam. Since then we have learned much, and we know today that the beautiful turbans and clothes of the Sudanese folk were already used in Africa before Muhammad was even born or before Ethiopian culture reached inner Africa. Since then we have learned that the peculiar organization of the Sudanese states existed long before Islam and that all of the art of building and education, of city organization and handwork in Negro Africa, were thousands of years older than those of Middle Europe."
Now back up my point about the Possibility that Islam is influenced by African Christians is the following quote. I believe these Christians played a much greater role than most people want to believe. Quoting Ibn Khaldun:
http://books.google.com/books?id=380NAAAAQAAJ&pg;=PA117
"Adjoining the Berber (Somalia nothing to do with Maghrib) are the Abyssinians (Ethiopians), the most numerous and powerful of the Blacks. From their country Yemen once had its kings. The king of the Abyssinians was entitled Al-Negashi, and the capital of his kingdom was the city of Kaber. The Abyssinians are Christians, but it is said that one of their kings embraced the true faith when Mohammed visited their country in the Hijra. They believe that they are destined to become masters of Yemen and all Arabia"
"Arab / Muslim Literature on black people [The Colonial Imaginary part 1]"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UYDyqrGA1Po
"The Mohammedan Negro has felt nothing of the withering power of caste. There is nothing in his colour or race to debar him from the highest privileges, social or political, to which any other Muslim can attain. The slave who becomes a Mohammedan is free.'Mohammedan history abounds with examples of distinguished Negroes."

The history of Morocco spans over twelve centuries, without taking classical antiquity into consideration.
Archaeological evidence has shown that the area was inhabited by hominids at least 400,000 years ago. The recorded history of Morocco begins with the Phoenician colonization of the Moroccan coast between the 8th and 6th centuries BC, although the area was inhabited by indigenous Berbers for some two thousand years before that. In the 5th century BC, the city-state of Carthage extended its hegemony over the coastal areas. They remained there until the late 3rd century BC, while the hinterland was ruled by indigenous monarchs. Indigenous Berber monarchs ruled the territory from the 3rd century BC until 40 BC, when it was annexed to the Roman Empire. In the mid-5th century AD, it was overrun by Vandals, before being recovered by the Byzantine Empire in the 6th century.
