Dave Broadfoot is a Canadian comedian who was born on December 5, 1925 in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. In 1943, he joined the merchant navy serving until 1947. He gained experience for a professional career in theater by working community theatre, eventually gravitating towards comedy.

For ten years he was a writer and performer in the influential stage revue Spring Thaw. From 1973 to 1993 he was a member of the radio version of the Royal Canadian Air Farce. He retired from regular performing when the troupe moved to television, although he continued to appear on the show as an occasional guest star, including the TV series finale.

In addition to stand-up routines in the traditional format, Broadfoot creates routines based around a number of recurring characters including, most notably:

• Big Bobby Clobber, a professional hockey player who seemed to have taken a few too many hits or else was not very sharp to begin with.
• David J. Broadfoot, the Honourable Member of Parliament for Kicking Horse Pass, representing the New Apathetic Party. (Kicking Horse Pass is a mountain pass in the Canadian Rockies with a negligible population.)
• Sgt. Renfrew of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). Broadfoot performed this character for the RCMP on a number of occasions, receiving a 'promotion' each time.^[1] As of 2004, he was an honorary Sergeant-Major.

Broadfoot also starred in the short-run sitcom XPM. He has received several ACTRA and Juno awards and is an Officer of the Order of Canada. He is the author of an autobiography, Old Enough to Say What I Want (ISBN 0-7710-1657-3). He retired in 2005.

He also did voices for two animated Christmas specials George and the Christmas Star and Bluetoes the Christmas Elf and made a guest appearance as a hospital patient in the hit TV series Puppets Who Kill.

Don Ferguson (born May 30, 1946) is a Canadian actor and is one of the stars of XPM and Royal Canadian Air Farce. He is also the only Canadian-born original cast member of Air Farce.

His many Air Farce roles include parodies of Paul Martin, Pierre Trudeau, Ron MacLean, Jack Layton, Joe Clark, Preston Manning, Stockwell Day, Rex Murphy, Lucien Bouchard, Bill Clinton, Brian Mulroney, Vladimir Putin, Bob Dylan, Mike Myers and John Kerry. Many of these portrayals involve Ferguson as the 'straight man' to the more eccentric personalities played by Roger Abbott.

Don Ferguson is a graduate from Loyola High School, Loyola College, now Concordia University, in Montreal, with an Honours English degree, and afterward worked in radio and as an audio-visual producer and photographer until he discovered that he preferred comedy writing and performing. He has written and directed documentary programs for CBC, a science-fiction series for radio, a political farce for the stage, ("Skin Deep"), and a stage drama about the World War II raid of Dieppe. Don Ferguson is a widely popular Canadian after-dinner entertainer, and an enthusiastic sailor.

Luba Goy (Ukrainian: Люба Ґой; born November 8, 1945)^[1] is a Canadian comedian and one of the stars of Royal Canadian Air Farce.

Life and career[link]

Goy was born in Haltern, Germany to Ukrainian parents and raised in Ottawa. They emigrated to Canada in 1951. She is a graduate of the Glebe Collegiate Institute in Ottawa, Ontario. In 1969 she graduated from the National Theatre School of Canada,^[2] then went on to act in theatre productions in Stratford, Ontario. In the early 1980s, she starred (as herself, alongside Billy Van) in an educational series on computers called Bits and Bytes. Produced by TV Ontario, the show was aired by PBS stations in the United States.

Later that decade, she played Lotsa Heart Elephant, Treat Heart Pig and Gentle Heart Lamb in Nelvana's animated Care Bears franchise. As part of the Air Farce team, Goy has won 15 ACTRA awards, a Juno, the MacLean's Honour Roll, and was among the first Canadians to be inducted into the International Humour Hall of Fame. In 1993, Goy and her Air Farce cast members received Honorary Doctor of Law degrees from Brock University. In 1996, Goy received the Outstanding Achievement Award from Women in Film and Television.

She has also done voices for various animated TV series featuring Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors, Babar, AlfTales, My Pet Monster, Sylvanian Families, Tales from the Cryptkeeper, The Rosey and Buddy Show, Rupert, The New Archies, Little Shop and WildC.A.T.S..

Within the Ukrainian Canadian community she occasionally has comedy performances that highlight her Ukrainian heritage. One such example was her involvement in 1999 with the Ukrainian pavilion at Folklorama, a cultural festival in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She speaks Ukrainian fluently. Luba's film roles have included an 18th-century innkeeper in the Ukrainian film Vid'ma (Відьма, Witch), filmed in Kiev.

In 2011, she performed at the Toronto Ukrainian Festival. In May 2012 Luba Goy debuted her one person show LUBA, SIMPLY LUBA at the Berkeley Street Theatre, Toronto.

Jason John Lowe (born 2 September 1991) is an English footballer who plays for Blackburn Rovers. Lowe was raised in Leigh and is a keen supporter of Leigh Centurions rugby league club, using his Twitter account on several occasions to voice his support for the Centurions. Lowe is primarily a midfielder but can also play at right back.^[2] He made his senior debut on 8 January 2011 in the FA Cup and his Premier League debut on 15 January 2011. He captained England U-20 at the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup and made his U-21 debut on 10 October 2011.

Lowe joined the Academy of Blackburn Rovers when he was 12 and had progressed to the Reserves when he signed his first professional contract with Blackburn on 4 September 2009.^[3] On 8 January 2011, Lowe made his senior debut for Blackburn in the 1–0 win over QPR in the FA Cup.^[4] On 15 January 2011, he made his Premier League debut, as a 24th minute substitute for the injured David Dunn, in the 2–0 loss to Chelsea.^[5] He was set to join Aberdeen on loan in January 2011 before the deal fell through due to injuries in the Blackburn first team.^[6]

Oldham Athletic[link]

On 24 March 2011, Lowe was signed by Oldham Athletic on loan until the end of the season.^[7] Lowe made his debut for Oldham against Tranmere Rovers on 28 March 2011.^[8] Lowe scored his first goal for the club with a penalty in the 2–0 win against Notts County on 3 April 2011.^[9] On 25 April 2011, Lowe scored late on to help Oldham secure a 1–1 draw with Walsall.^[10] Lowe finished his loan spell having played seven games and scoring two goals.

Blackburn Rovers[link]

Lowe's first appearance for Blackburn after returning from his loan came in the League Cup second round win against Sheffield Wednesday on 24 August 2011.^[11] He then made his first league appearance of the season, as a substitute for Ruben Rochina, against Fulham on 11 September 2011.^[12] His first ever league start in a Blackburn shirt came a week later on 17 September 2011 against Arsenal.^[13] On 27 October 2011, it was reported that Lowe has signed a five-year contract with Blackburn.^[2]

Lowe was called into a training camp for England U-19 after impressing for Blackburn in the Academy and reserves and was on stand-by for the U-19 which traveled to Ukraine for the European Under-19 Football Championship Elite Qualifying Round.^[14] Lowe was selected for England U-19 for the European Under-19 Football Championship Finals in July 2010,^[15] but he eventually missed out due to injury.^[16]

Lowe made his debut for England U-20 in a friendly against France on 9 February 2011.^[16][17][18] It was his only cap before he captained England U-20 at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Colombia in the summer of 2011, where they were knocked out in the last 16.^[16]

On 10 October 2011, Lowe made his debut for England U-21 in the 1–1 draw with Norway U-21 in a Euro 2013 qualifier.^[19]
