Indiscretion Of An American Wife 1953 - I'll Be Your Light (Останусь Светом)
Prior to leaving by train for Paris, a married American woman tries to break off her affair with a young Italian in Rome's Stazione Termini. This is my tribute to the wonderful and underrated movie about ill fated love between an american housewife and young italian man. I used this song because I think its lyrics and music fit perfectly to the story. Here is the english translation of the song: In the end of tunnel I see light of a star My soles leave trays on dead leaves Under my skin pulse is still beating And I have to keep living Maybe I won't return anymore Or maybe I'll stay with you I'll be ashes on your lips I'll be fire in your eyes Breath of wind in your hands. I'll be snow on the cheek I'll be wind far away I'll always be your light. In the end of the tunnel I see light And I keep going On broken glass, on thin ice Don't cry, I don't afraid of pain, It doesn't exist Maybe I won't return anymore Or maybe I'll stay with you. I'll be ashes on your lips I'll be fire in your eyes Breath of wind in your hands. I'll be snow on the cheek I'll be wind far away I'll always be your light. NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT INTENDED!!!

The Limping Man (1953)
A 1953 British film directed by Cy Endfield (as Charles de Lautour), starring American actor Lloyd Bridges and Cape Town born actress Moira Lister. The film was based on Anthony Verney's novel Death on the Tideway. World War II vet Frank Pryor (Lloyd Bridges) returns to London from America after six years to look up an old flame, Pauline French (Moira Lister), now a successful actress. As he and the other passengers deplane and walk across to the terminal, Frank pauses for a moment and asks the man beside him for a light. There's a gunshot and the man crumples to the ground, shot by a marksman with a high-powered rifle, an assassin with a limp. It's not long before Frank Pryor is up to his neck in murderous intrigue. Directors: Cy Endfield, Charles De la Tour Writers: Ian Stuart Black, Reginald Long Stars: Lloyd Bridges, Moira Lister and Alan Wheatley

Seen on the UPRR in 1953
In June 1953 my father took my little brother and me, along with his Cine-Kodak Eight movie camera, on a rail excursion from Ohio to Colorado. In this clip from the movies he filmed we enjoy a trip by UP passenger train from Denver to Cheyenne for a tour of the engine terminal there. That's me in the red t-shirt. My brother is the lucky kid on the Big Boy pilot. This high-tech video transfer replaces the low-tech "off-the-wall" transfer I posted a while back.

Moscow Metro Kievskaya - Киевская
www.facebook.com www.ceepackaging.com twitter @ceepackaging www.facebook.com There are three stations at Kiyevskaya as can be seen in this film. The station is named after the nearby Kiyevsky Rail Terminal. On the brown line Kievskaya features low, square pylons faced with white marble and surmounted by large mosaics by AV Myzin celebrating Russo-Ukrainian unity. Both the mosaics and the arches between the pylons are edged with elaborate gold-colored trim. At the end of the platform is a portrait of Lenin. The station on the dark blue line was opened in 1953, it is lavishly decorated in the quasi-baroque style that predominated in the early 1950s. The square pylons are faced with white Ural marble and elaborately patterned ceramic tile and the plastered ceiling is decorated with a series of frescoes by various artists depicting life in Ukraine. A large mosaic at the end of the platform commemorates the 300th anniversary of the reunification of Russia and Ukraine. Light comes from a row of hexagonal chandeliers. The architects were LV Lile, VA Litvinov, MF Markovsky, and VM Dobrokovsky. The light blue line station was opened in 1937 and closed in 1953 when the new Kiyevskaya station, intended to replace it, was completed. Due to a change of plans, however, it reopened after only five years as part of the new Filyovskaya Line. Kiyevskaya features tall, octagonal pillars topped with elaborate capitals. The pillars were originally faced with Armenian onyx, but this was ...

This is a short tour of Illinois GP7 #1605 at the Illinois Railway Museum. This locomotive was delivered in August, 1953 from EMD It has 1500 horsepower and racked up close to 1.5 million miles in its lifetime. It was retired in 1984 and donated. Off Book: The Evolution of Music Online
As the 90s came to a close, the business of music began to change profoundly. New technology allowed artists to record and produce their own music and music videos, and the internet became a free-for-all distribution platform for musicians to promote themselves to audiences across the world. The result was an influx of artists onto the cultural scene, and audiences were left wondering how to sort through them all. In this episode we discuss these massive changes, and reveal how music blogs and websites have arisen as the new arbiters of quality.

The Midnight Jam Ep.4 Terminal Station
Terminal Station is a Blues-Rock band in the best sense of the word. They take the traditional blues sound and kick it into high gear. Their music is raw and exciting – full of fat bass lines, explosive drumming, risk taking guitar solos and impassioned vocals.
The members of Terminal Station, Liam MacDonald (drums), Jeremy Holmes (bass), and Scott Smith (vocals, guitar), have been key players in Vancouver’s blues and roots scene for the better part of a decade. They have played with such Vancouver artists as Herald Nix, Ridley Bent, Michael Kaeshammer, Jim Byrnes, Rich Hope, Aaron Pritchett, Bocephus King, Headwater, Bottleneck, and Cousin Harley.
Over the last few years, Terminal Station has played hundreds of shows and earned a reputation as a must see live act. Their second CD, Rolling All Night, was recorded live in the studio and mixes traditional blues sounds with other genres. The Stonesy title track kicks off the CD with a bang, and by the time the CD is over, you'll have heard some swamp rock, Texas boogie, West Coast swing, rockabilly, Booker T funk, Afro-Cuban psychedelia, New Orleans rhumba, and North Mississippi garage blues. Special guests on the CD include Dave Hoerl from The Twisters on harmonica, Darryl Havers on Hammond organ and piano, and Rich Hope on background vocals.

Seen Around St. Louis, June 1954
Although he was a truck driver, my father grew up in a railroad family and was a railroader at heart,. For many years he was a road driver for Transamerican Freight Lines out of Columbus, Ohio and by 1953 he held down a regular run between Columbus and St. Louis. During the first week of June in 1954 (I got the year wrong in the movie title) he took advantage of an extended layover to ride the trolleys on the Illinois Terminal Railroad. And of course he had his trusty ol' Cine-Kodak Eight 25 movie camera with him. He mailed the film exposed that day to Kodak to be developed, and then headed back to Columbus. Near Cuba, IL he was involved in a head on collision with two other trucks. There were no survivors. A few days after the funeral the processed film arrived. It was a treasure to us. We knew that he had spent his last free day on earth doing what he loved to do. Many years later, when I showed this to my friends at the Ohio Railway Museum, I finally learned the identity of the line he rode.
