Woman charged for conspiracy, fraud; area Eagle Scout honored - "Sun Focus Today" - Friday, Nov. 6
The owner of Advance Home Health in Brooklyn Park and two of the company's personal-care assistants have been charged with stealing more than $89000 from Medicaid. A federal indictment, unsealed Wednesday, Nov. 4, alleges that the trio submitted reimbursement claims for personal-care services not actually rendered. Patrick Daniel Osei, 49, of Brooklyn Park was charged with one count of conspiracy to commit health-care fraud, 15 counts of health-care fraud and four counts of illegal remuneration. Osei owns Advance Home Health. Crecida Marie Cade, 47, of Fridley was charged with one count of conspiracy and six counts of health-care fraud. Sabrina Marie Peterson, 38, of Minneapolis was charged with one count of conspiracy and nine counts of health-care fraud. Osei employed Cade and Peterson as personal-care assistants. Each faces a maximum penalty of five years in prison on the conspiracy count and 10 years on each health-care fraud count. A federal district court judge will determine any sentences. Eagle Scout Drake Sime was recognized at the Blaine City Council meeting last night for his hard work and was proclaimed an outstanding citizen. Beginning as a Tiger Cub Scout in 2001, 13-year-old Drake has since earned 28 merit badges in animal science, geology, archery, aviation, and wilderness survival, to name a few.
