Promo for WSKG's Watkins Glen: The Street Years
In 1948 Cameron Argetsinger, a young law student and sports car enthusiast conceived an idea... to stage a European-style road race through the village of Watkins Glen, New York. Now more than 50 years later, racing continues to thrive at Watkins Glen, the site now known worldwide as the birthplace of road racing in America. WATKINS GLEN: THE STREET YEARS, is the story of the first five years of racing in Watkins Glen, when the cars raced through the streets of the village. Told through personal accounts from the race's founder, through the stories of the drivers and residents of Watkins Glen, and with a collection of race photographs and newsreel footage, WATKINS GLEN: THE STREET YEARS chronicles the excitement and adventure of one of the great stories of sports in America. Produced and Directed by Brian Frey Narrated by Doug Paulson Original Music Composed and Performed by Charlie Zayleskie

VRG at NJMP-Thunderbolt Historics Vintage Races-Sept-2008
Group (VRG) event Sept 19-21 at New Jersey Motosports Park. There was also a vintage air show...if you watch the video, you may see some WW II planes. If my car sounds "luggy", it's because it was stuck in fourth gear the entire weekend. The red #39 car in this video is the Ardent Alligator. It won the 1949 Watkins Glen Grand Prix (with Miles Collier driving and co-owned by his brother, Sam). The car was later owned by Cameron Argetsinger; the man who created the Watkins Glen Grand Prix Race Course.
