Inside Story - Can Egypt secure Sinai Peninsula?
Egypt has sent more troops, tanks and armoured vehicles in response to the Sinai border attack that killed 16 soldiers on Sunday. Both Egypt and Israel blame 'militants' in Gaza for the attack. The claim could hurt ties between Hamas and Mohamed Morsi, the Egyptian president. It has also raised concerns over whether Egypt can secure the Sinai region. Guests: Menachem Hofnung, Sameh Fawzi, Ghazi Hamad.

St. Catherine's Monastery Mt. Sinai Sinai Peninsula Egypt
St. Catherine's Monastery, located at the base of Mt. Sinai, in the Sinai Peninsula of Egypt, is where the Burning Bush is found. It was here that God spoke to Moses and told him to lead the Israelites out of Egypt. Also located here is the well where Moses met his wife. The oldest complete copy of the Bible was found at the Monastery.

Treasures of the Nile - Sinai Peninsula - Sharm El Sheikh
The Sinai Peninsula has a lot to offer tourist's. Sharm El Sheikh is is a charming city with a small town atmosphere. The waters of the Red Sea are stunningly beautiful with pristine coral reefs and crystal clear waters . The Red Sea is considered one of the best dive sites in the world. The Ras Mohammed National Park, 12 km from Sharm El Sheikh, overlooks Gulf of Suez and the Gulf of Aqaba. You can venture up the coast toward Israel to Nuweiba and visit the Fortress of Tarabin, built in 1506. Ruth and I spent several days in the Sinai before taking a ferry to Aqaba in Jordan. Flight over Sinai peninsula - initial descent to Sharm el Sheikh
Not quite a complete descent and approach into HESH (SSH) Sharm el Sheikh airport in Egypt in Boeing 757-200 (Flight Deck window view), just middle altitudes phase skimming the tops of the Sinai mountains with majestic Mt. Sinai on the right. Quite rare day with such a nice visibility. Nice views even though might be boring for some.

Bedouins cry foul in Egypt
Egyptian Bedouins in the Sinai Peninsula lead a traditional lifestyle not far from the bustling holiday resorts that are being developed in south of the country. The Bedouins say that they have been increasingly marginalised from the development projects as the Egyptian government denied them their share of profits from the country's lucrative tourism industry. They also claim that the authorities employ excessive force against them, saying that between 1000 and 3000 Bedouins are held in Egyptian jails. Al Jazeera's Ayman Mohyeldin reports from the Sinai Peninsula.

The Bedouin Way
The nomadic Bedouin tribes in Egypt's Sinai Peninsula deal with the privatization and government control over the land they once roamed free on for thousands of years. While tourism and globalization change the population's economic structure, the struggle ensues to hold on to the culture and traditions they so highly regard.

Egypt 3: St Catherine's Monastery (Sinai Mountain)
Guided tour in Sinai including the monastery of Santa Catarina. Enjoy! My facebook: www.facebook.com My twitter: twitter.com From wikipedia: Saint Catherine's Monastery (Greek: Μονὴ τῆς Ἁγίας Αἰκατερίνης Monì tìs Agìas Ekaterìnis), in Arabic دير القدّيسة كاترينا commonly known as Santa Katarina lies on the Sinai Peninsula, at the mouth of a gorge at the foot of Mount Sinai in the city of Saint Catherine in Egypt's South Sinai Governorate. The monastery is Orthodox and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. According to the UNESCO report (60100 ha / Ref: 954), this monastery is one of the oldest working Christian monasteries in the world together with the Monastery of Saint Anthony, situated across the Red Sea in the desert south of Cairo, which also lays claim to that title. In the area around the monastery, a small town has grown, with hotels and swimming pools, called Saint Katherine City.
