Saint Afra (died 304) was a Christian martyr[citation needed]. Her actual existence is not mentioned until the 5th century martyrologies, giving her dubious historicity.
Although many different accounts of her life exist, the most widely known is that of an unreliable Carolingian version, the Acts of St Afra, set down many centuries later. According to this source, she was originally a courtesan in Augsburg, having come there from Cyprus, maybe even as the daughter of the King of Cyprus. She is reputed to either run a brothel in that town, or work as a hierodule in the Temple of Venus. As the persecution of Christians during the reign of Eastern Roman Emperor Diocletian began, Bishop Narcissus of Girona (in Spain) arrived there and lodged with Afra and her mother, Hilaria. The bishop did not know their profession, but soon converted them. She continued to hide the bishop from the authorities, but was arrested, and condemned to be burnt to death. Her mother and her maids Ligna, Eunonia and Eutropia later suffered the same fate, for interring her in a burial vault.

Takeshi Sakuma (佐久間健, Sakuma Takeshi?, born June 17, 1981), aka Ken the 390, is a Japanese hip hop and R&B singer/rapper. He is an artist of the Rhythm Zone label owned by the Avex Group.
In 1999, Ken the 390 helped in founding the Da.Me.Records label that helped the Japanese hip hop industry to rise.[citation needed]
His debut album, Prologue, was released in Japan on March 25, 2006.
The latest album with a title name of Fantastic World was released on October 8, 2008.

Akira Fujioka (藤岡 章 Fujioka Akira?, born January 29, 1980), better known by his stage name of Afra, is a Japanese beatboxer from the Osaka metropolitan area. He formed the beatboxing band Afra & Incredible Beatbox Band in 2005 with Kei and K-Moon. He had a guest appearance alongside Kōichi Yamadera in the eighth episode of the anime Samurai Champloo as the voice of the beatboxing Shinpachi.

Plot: 16 year old street-wise Apple (Vanessa Hudgens) has never had an easy life. Her mother, June Bailey (Rosario Dawson), is an addict and prostitute, is verbally and physically abusive, and is grooming her daughter to follow in her footsteps. Apple knows the streets, alleys and motels like the back of her hand but wants more from her life. She possesses a tenacious, tough, indomitable spirit, and will not surrender to fate. Apple runs away from her mother and tracks down her father whom she has never known, as he was only 19 when he got Apple's mother pregnant. Apple begs her now Wall Street Broker father, Tom Fitzpatrick (Brendan Fraser), to take her in. In the few days under her father's care, she learns she's become pregnant by a kid from the streets she met on the train, who now wants nothing to do with her. She is forced to leave her father's home because of her choice to give birth to the baby she is carrying. Apple runs away again, and is eventually taken under the wing of Father McCarthy (James Earl Jones), the chaplain of the local hospital after almost getting herself killed. He offers to let Apple live at a shelter for pregnant young women run by a spiritual woman named Kathy (Ann Dowd). It is here that Apple begins to tentatively interact with the other girls who are in the same predicament as she and gradually begins to make a family for herself.

Akira Fujioka (藤岡 章 Fujioka Akira?, born January 29, 1980), better known by his stage name of Afra, is a Japanese beatboxer from the Osaka metropolitan area. Ohne dem Zeitgeist und seinen Banalisierungstendenzen nachzugeben, verbindet das Institut die Pflege der katholischen Tradition mit einer zeitgemäßen Pastoral. Mit der Unterstützung Kardinal Josef Ratzingers, des heutigen Papst Benedikt XVI., wurde das Institut im Mai 2004 offiziell als Gesellschaft apostolischen Lebens päpstlichen Rechts anerkannt.
Das Institut hat sich im August 2004 im St. Afra-Stift im nördlichen Teil von Berlin Mitte, dem früheren Bezirk Wedding, niedergelassen. Es bietet tägliche Gelegenheit zum Besuch der heiligen Messe und zur Beichte. Regelmäßig werden Informations- und Bildungsveranstaltungen angeboten. Programme zur geistlichen Betreuung von Alten und Kranken sind im Aufbau.

Afra bin Dhaher likes to play with perspective. On a literal level, the photographs that make up her exhibition Hymns to a Sleeper, are simultaneously flat and three-dimensional. The everyday objects - chairs, carpets and ceramics - set against a fluffy pink backdrop are shot in such a way as to blur the distinction between background and foreground, and appear to float out of the frame ...
