Imam Anwar Al Awlaki - Aqeedah Of The Sahabah Part 1
Wasatiyyah: The Term The term wasatiyyah comes from the root word wasat which means middle or balanced or moderate. The awsat is the mid of every thing. Actually, the wasat (middle) is a synonym for virtue because virtue is defined as the mid between two bad characters or two bad extremes. For instance, generosity is the wasat = (virtue) between niggardliness and extravagance. By the same token, bravery is the middle path (at-tariq al-wasat) between cowardice and rashness. Since al-wasat (middle) requires the existence of the mid which is between all ends in a very just way, scholars have said that wasat also refers to justice and fairness and being the best. Almighty Allah said, The best of them said: Did I not say to you, why do you not glorify (Allah)? " (Al-Quran: 68:28) The word best here refers to the Arabic word awsatuhum. In this regard, we may cite the following verses revolving around these meanings; Almighty Allah says, And thus We have made you a medium (just) nation that you may be the bearers of witness to the people and (that) the Messenger may be a bearer of witness to you; (Al-Quran: 2: 143) The verse speaks of the Muslim Ummah becoming witness on to mankind and shows that the merit that entitles this Ummah to this great position is being a just and medium (wasat) nation. Even in their faith and creed, Muslims are privileged to have a wasat (balanced and moderate faith). Muslims stand middle between and balanced between polytheists who believe in many ...

How the Sahabah Prepared for Ramadan
Mbraceislam presents: How the Sahabah Prepared for Ramadan by Sheikh Ibrahim Zidan. The Sahabah prepared for Ramadan by following Islam perfectly and totally. They submitted completely to the will of Allah and had the pure love for Allah. And Sha'ban was used to prepare for Ramadan because they understood that their deeds for the year were presented to Allah in this month. So we must clean our record before it is presented to Allah. They loved the Sunnah more then they loved themselves and their families Shortly, to prepare for Ramadan they: 1-fasted in Sha'ban 2-continued to stay away from Shirk 3- freed themselves from quarreling with others 4- prepared themselves for witnessing the month physically, spiritually and mentally

It is a very unique story made even more special by hearing it from Maulana Tariq Jameel. Click here to download the transcript of the lecture: www.mediafire.com Click here for a alternative link for this video on Vimeo: vimeo.com Click here to watch the full [untranslated] lecture: www.youtube.com ------------Intercession--------------- Once the Day of Judgment will commence, this limited free choice that was allotted to man will be taken away. The accountability of mankind's deeds will take place. On that Day, no one will have the right to intercede on behalf of another being. However, only through the permission and consent of Allāh Taālā, one will be able to intercede. Almighty Allāh says in the Qurān: "Who can intercede with Him without His permission?" (Qurān 2/255) In the narrations of Nabī Sallallāhu Alaihi Wa Sallam, the various intercessors are mentioned. For example, it comes in a Hadīth that Surah Al-Mulk will intercede on behalf of its reciter until he is forgiven. [Ibn Maja] With regards to the types of intercessions, Imām An-Nawawī has mentioned in his commentary of Sahīh Muslim, that there will be five: [المنهاج شرح صحيح مسلم بن الحجاج] 1. Before the reckoning, mankind will ...

Sahabah leaving sahih hadith???
I'm sure many of us have been a victim of such statements as: "Brother we have to follow the sahih hadith..." "I will follow a madhab but if it contradicts a sahih hadith I will reject it..." I don't know how academics can keep a straight face upon hearing such intellectually fallible statements. This is in fact making a mockery of the deen. How can a person with any basic grounding in Islamic knowledge attribute an entire ruling, on 1 sahih hadith, ignoring its context, period, circumstance etc and so casually at that? Many find it patronising and demeaning to see years of seeking knowledge reduced to plucking a sahih hadith and following that. This is extremely dangerous and has lead many people away from the deen as well. All these sciences have to be taken into consideration [amongst many others] when giving an Islamic verdict [ruling/mas'ala/fatwa] NOT JUST A SAHIH HADITH: 1) Lugat (Knowledge of the Arabic Language) 2) Nahwa (Knowledge of Arabic Syntax) 3) Sarf (Knowledge of Arabic Grammatical Inflexions) 4) Ishtaqaq (Knowledge of Derivation) 5) Ilm-e-Ma'ani (Knowledge of Arabic Semantics) 6) Ilm-e-Bayaan (Knowledge of Exposition) 7) Ilm-e-Badaa'e (Knowledge of Arabic Rhetoric) 8) Ilm-e-Qir'aat (Knowledge of Arabic Articulation) 9) Ilm-e Akaaid (Knowledge of Islamic Doctrine) 10) Asool-e-Fiqha (the Laws of Islamic Jurisprudence) 11) Asbab-e-Nazool (Reason of Revelation) 12) Nasikh Mansookh (the Abrogated and the One that Abrogates) 13) Ilm-e-Fiqha (Knowledge of ...
