  Arabella Huntington
  Arabella Yarrington "Belle" Huntington (c.1850-1924) was the second wife of American railway tycoon and industrialist Collis P. Huntington, and then the second wife of Henry E. Huntington. She was once known as the richest woman in America, and as the force behind the art collection that is housed at the Huntington Library.
  Arabella Huntington was the second wife of Collis P. Huntington. After his death, she married his nephew Henry E. Huntington, who was also a railway magnate and the founder of the famous Huntington Library, Art Collections and Botanical Gardens, in San Marino, California. She had a son, Archer Milton Huntington.
  Compared to her famous family, information about Arabella is scarce. She was apparently born in 1850 or 1851, probably in Richmond, Virginia (see Wark, p. 312). Her first husband was a Mr. Worsham, of New York, who died shortly after they were married, leaving her with a young son, named Archer. (some other sources have suggested that they were not actually married, but that she was his mistress). (It has also been suggested that Archer's father was actually Collis Huntington, who legally adopted the boy when he was a teenager.). In 1877 she was able to purchase some property in New York, which was later sold to John D. Rockefeller. She married Collis Huntington in 1884, in San Francisco, California, and was left a widow a second time when he died in 1900. Thirteen years later she married Henry Huntington. They were together until her death in 1924, and both are buried on the grounds of the Huntington Library. There is also a memorial to Arabella in the west wing of the Huntington Library building, which was dedicated in 1927, the year of Henry's death.

  Benjamin Huntington
  Benjamin Huntington (April 19, 1736 – October 16, 1800) was an American lawyer, jurist and politician from Norwich, Connecticut. He served in the Revolutionary War with the rank of General. He later served Connecticut as a delegate to the Second Continental Congress and as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives during the First United States Congress.
  Benjamin was born on April 19, 1736 at Norwich, Connecticut, the only child of Daniel Huntington and his second wife Rachel Wolcott. He married Anne Huntington, of Windham, Connecticut, on May 5, 1765. She died on October 6, 1790 at Norwich. He graduated from Yale in 1761, and soon after, he entered upon the practice of law in his native town, and rose rapidly to the front rank of his profession. He seems to have been unusually devoted to his profession, being at once a severe student, and an active and successful advocate and business man. Though rather shunning than courting public life, he was not allowed to excuse himself from its claims; nor, when called to meet them, did he shrink either from public duties or dangers. In 1775 he was appointed, by the legislature of his native State, on the committee of safety, appointed to advise with the Governor of the State during the recess of the legislature. Only the ablest men and truest patriots of that trying day, would have been put upon that important committee. Again, in 1778, on the recommendation of George Washington, he was appointed by the legislature, one of the delegates to the convention to be held in New Haven, for the regulation of the army. From 1780 to 1784, and again in 1787 and 1788, he was a member of the Continental Congress; and when the new government went into operation, in 1789, he was chosen to represent Connecticut in the First Congress of the United States.

• Cynthia Huntington
  Cynthia Huntington is an American poet, memoirist and a professor of English and Creative Writing at Dartmouth College. She has published several books of poetry, most recently The Radiant (Four Way Books, 2003). In 2004 she was named Poet Laureate of New Hampshire. She has published poems in numerous literary journals and magazines including TriQuarterly, The Michigan Quarterly Review, Harvard Review, Cimarron Review, AGNI,Ploughshares, and Massachusetts Review, and in anthologies including The Best American Erotic Poems: From 1800 to the Present (Sribner, 2008) and Contemporary Poetry of New England (Middlebury College Press, 2002).
  Huntington has received grants from the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts, The Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, and the Massachusetts Cultural Council, as well as two fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts. Other awards include: the Robert Frost Prize from The Frost Place in Franconia, New Hampshire, the Jane Kenyon Award in Poetry, and the Emily Clark Balch Prize.

  Daniel Huntington
  Daniel Huntington (October 4, 1816 – April 19, 1906), American artist, was born in New York City, New York, the son of Benjamin Huntington, Jr. and Faith Trumbull Huntington; his paternal grandfather was Benjamin Huntington, delegate at the Second Continental Congress and First U.S. Representative from Connecticut.
  From 1833 to 1835 he studied at Hamilton College in Clinton, New York, where he met Charles Loring Elliott, who encouraged Huntington to become an artist.
  In 1835 he studied at New York University with Samuel F.B. Morse, and produced "A Bar-Room Politician" and "A Toper Asleep." He first exhibited his work at the National Academy of Design in 1836. Subsequently he painted some landscapes in the tradition of the Hudson River School, and in 1839 went to Rome, Florence and Paris with his friend and pupil Henry Peters Gray. On his return to America in 1840, he painted his allegorical painting "Mercy's Dream", which brought him fame and confirmed his interest in inspirational subjects. He also painted portraits and began the illustration of The Pilgrim's Progress, and in 1844 he went back to Rome.

• Ebenezer Huntington
  Ebenezer Huntington (December 26, 1754 – June 17, 1834) was a United States Representative from Connecticut. He was born in Norwich, Connecticut. He pursued academic studies and was graduated from Yale College in 1775. He served as a soldier during the American Revolutionary War, first in the Lexington alarm in April 1775 and later with the 3rd and 1st Connecticut Regiments. As a lieutenant colonel, he commanded a light infantry battalion at Yorktown.
  He was promoted to brigadier general in the United States Army, July 19, 1798 when war with France was threatened, and was honorably discharged June 15, 1800.
  Huntington was elected as a Federalist to the Eleventh Congress to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Samuel W. Dana and served from October 11, 1810, to March 3, 1811. He was elected to the Fifteenth Congress (1817–1819). He died in Norwich, Connecticut in 1834 and was buried in Old Colony Cemetery.

  Elisha Huntington (April 9, 1796 – December 11, 1865) was an American physician and politician who served as the Mayor of Lowell, Massachusetts and as the 19th Lieutenant Governor for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts from 1853 to 1854.

  Ellsworth Huntington
  Ellsworth Huntington (September 16, 1876 – October 17, 1947) was a professor of geography at Yale University during the early 20th century, known for his studies on climatic determinism, economic growth and economic geography. He served as Presidents of the Ecological Society of America in 1917, the Association of American Geographers in 1923 and the President of the Board of Directors of the American Eugenics Society from 1934 to 1938.
  He taught at Euphrates College, Turkey (1897–1901); accompanied the Pumpelly (1903) and Barrett (1905–1906) expeditions to central Asia; and wrote of his Asian experiences in Explorations in Turkestan (1905) and The Pulse of Asia (1907). He taught geography at Yale (1907–1915) and from 1917 was a research associate there, devoting his time chiefly to climatic and anthropogeographic studies.
  In 1909, Huntington led The Yale Expedition to Palestine. It was his mission to determine "step by step the process by which geologic structure, topographic form, and the present and past nature of the climate have shaped man's progress, moulded his history; and thus played an incalculable part in the development of a system of thought which could scarcely have arisen under any other physical circumstances.

  George Huntington
  George Huntington (April 9, 1850 – March 3, 1916) was an American physician who contributed a classic clinical description of the disease that bears his name -- Huntington's disease.
  Huntington described this condition in the first of only two scientific papers he ever wrote. He wrote this paper when he was 22, a year after receiving his medical degree from Columbia University in New York. He first read the paper before the Meigs and Mason Academy of Medicine in Middleport, Ohio on February 15, 1872 and then published it in the Medical and Surgical Reporter of Philadelphia on April 13, 1872.
  Huntington's father and grandfather, George Lee Huntington (1811–1881) and Abel Huntington (1778–1858), were also physicians in the same family practice. Their longitudinal observations combined with his own were invaluable in precisely describing this hereditary disease in multiple generations of a family in East Hampton on Long Island.
  In a 1908 review, the eminent physician William Osler said of this paper: "In the history of medicine, there are few instances in which a disease has been more accurately, more graphically or more briefly described."

  Huntington Hartford
  George Huntington Hartford II (April 18, 1911 – May 19, 2008) was an American Businessman, philanthropist, filmmaker, and art collector. The heir to the A&P supermarket fortune he had numerous other business and real estate interests over his lifetime including owning Paradise Island in the Bahamas and the Oil Shale Corporation (TOSCO). On his death in 2008, numerous obituaries noted that, "He had once ranked among the world's richest people."
  Huntington's father, Edward V. Hartford (1870–1922) died when Huntington was nine, leaving the son as the heir to the estate left by his grandfather and namesake, George Huntington Hartford. Huntington's mother, Henrietta Guerard Pollitzer (1881–1948), moved her family to Newport, Rhode Island and sent Huntington away to school. He ultimately graduated from Harvard in 1934, but only briefly worked for A&P. For the rest of his life, Huntington focused various business and charitable enterprises.
  Huntington was married four times, all ending in divorce, and had four children. He lived the last years of his life in the Bahamas with his daughter, Juliet.

  Jedediah Huntington
  Jedediah Huntington (4 August 1743 – 25 September 1818), also known as Jedidiah Huntington, was an American general in the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War. He was born in Norwich, Connecticut, the son of Jabez Huntington (1719–1786). The Gen. Jedidiah Huntington House in Norwichtown, Connecticut, survives and was listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1970.
  He graduated at Harvard in 1763, joined the American army at Cambridge, became a brigadier general in 1777, and took part in many important engagements until the close of the war, when he was brevetted major general in 1783. He was one of the organizers of the Society of the Cincinnati. He became collector of the port of New London in 1789 and held the office 26 years. In 1778 he was a member of the court-martial that tried Gen. Charles Lee and in 1780 of the one that condemned Major André.

• Louise Huntington
  Louise Huntington (born in Dallas, Texas on November 1, 1904), was a stage and screen actress appearing on Broadway in the 1920s and on screen in the 1930s.
  Her film career included silent movies as well as some of the first sound productions. The Viking, in which she appeared in 1931, was the first Canadian-produced film to include sound. Huntington's stage career took her overseas and she is reported to be the first American woman to perform in South Africa. Later in life Huntington continued performing on stage and on television. She also directed theater and continued to act in commercials into her 80's. She was married to Robert Roberts, whom she later divorced. Her second husband was Sydney Houston who died in the mid 1970s. She died in Summit, New Jersey in 1997.

• Paul Huntington
  Paul David Huntington (born 17 September 1987 in Carlisle) is an English footballer who plays as a centre back for Football League One side Preston North End.
  He joined Newcastle United Academy on 1 July 2004 from Trinity School in Carlisle. As a schoolboy he played at Wembley Stadium and also won the England Under 18 National Cup for his school in 2004. After impressing in the youth teams he was promoted to the reserve squad in late 2004 to play tougher opposition and gain experience. He made his reserve debut for the club on 7 December in a 3–0 home win over rivals Middlesbrough and made his official England Under 18 debut against Scotland fifteen days later in a 1–0 win partnering David Wheater at centre back and got his 2nd cap on 10 June 2005 v Norway at Vale Park in a 0-0 draw. He signed his first professional contract at the club in July 2005.
  His first involvement in the first team at Newcastle was when he appeared on the bench for the club's Intertoto Cup games against ZTS Dubnic and Deportivo La Coruña in July 2005. In the summer of 2005 he was awarded the prestigious Jackie Milburn trophy, given each year to the rising star of north-east football. He was also named in the first team squad at Newcastle for the FA Cup third-round tie against Mansfield Town, remembered for being the game in which Alan Shearer scored his 200th goal for the club. Huntington made the substitutes bench for a UEFA Cup match against Celta Vigo.

  Arthur Ronald "Ron" Huntington, PC (February 13, 1921 – December 28, 1998) was a Canadian politician.
  Born in Vancouver, British Columbia, he was a member of the Royal Canadian Navy during World War II, rising to the rank of lieutenant commander.
  He first ran for the Canadian House of Commons in 1972 for the riding of Capilano but was defeated. A Progressive Conservative, he was elected in 1974 and was re-elected in 1979 and 1980. During Joe Clark's brief term as Prime Minister from 1979 to 1980, he was the Minister of State for Small Businesses and Industry.
  He was chairman of the Canada Ports Corporation from 1985 to 1991.

  Sam Huntington
  Sam Huntington (born April 1, 1982) is an American actor. He is perhaps best known for his starring role as werewolf Josh Levinson in the Syfy series, Being Human.
  Huntington was born in Peterborough, New Hampshire. His mother, Christine Stabile, owned and operated the Black Box Theatre, where Huntington started his career. Huntington's great-uncle was actor Ralph Bellamy. When Bellamy died, his Academy Award for lifetime achievement was given to Huntington.
  On August 12, 2006, he married his girlfriend of five years, actress Rachel Klein. The two wed in Huntington's hometown before heading off to Turtle Island Resort in Fiji for their honeymoon. The couple has a son named Charlie, and a daughter.^{[citation needed]}
  Huntington's first role was in the 1996 television movie Harvest of Fire, which starred Lolita Davidovich. He then appeared opposite Tim Allen in Disney's Jungle 2 Jungle the following year. Roles in the films Detroit Rock City, Not Another Teen Movie, Rolling Kansas, Freshman Orientation, In Enemy Hands and River's End followed, alongside guest appearances on CSI: Miami, CSI: NY, Law & Order, and Veronica Mars. He was also in the History Channel documentary The States when it covered New Hampshire.
