Quinten Gregory's Professional Realism 5: How Professional Artists Paint Rocks, Grass & Foregrounds
Quinten Gregory brings his classic art instruction back to www.ArtistsNetwork.tv with How Professional Artists Paint Rocks, Grass & Foregrounds. In this video workshop you'll start out by painting a variety of rocks along a stream, then follow along with two full painting demos, one in oil and one in watercolor, to overcome the challenge of portraying flat cliff walls in a canyon scene. In the second part of the video, practice a variety of brush techniques for capturing the values and textures of grasses. In this preview, use oil to paint rocky cliffs, adding dimension with light and shadow values, and texture with a palette knife or brush. Visit http for access to the full-length video.

Fierce Tiger - Full face realistic artistic makeup
Hey guys! I hope you like this video. I had fun with it, it took me quite a while though so this video is basically silence and sped up footage. Sorry about that, but you can listen to anything else while watching it if you do watch it :P If you have any questions or anything, let me know and I'll do my best to answer! If anyone wants to use this for halloween I think that'd work and be fun. :) Also, If you have any looks or face painting or anything that are animal inspired or theatrical/costume-y/halloween-y then post them as video responses! I love to see what others come up with :) I created the music in the beginning, if anyone was wondering. Thanks for watching, see you next time! :)

Drawing Realistic Colored Pencil Art - Prismacolor
A parrot is featured in this video, a great bird to practice with. I'm not a super realistic drawer.. I'm like in between fun - realistic. I used Prismacolor colored pencil. The paper is matte board. Heres a few tips... White should never completely be white... add all sorts of colors in with the white to make the white more realistic (I know it sounds crazy but look at the finished piece and look at the white part of the parrot see all the colors?!) The most important thing for making realistic colored pencil art is your lights and darks so it gives your drawing depth. Want more tutorials? Subscribe and view my other videos. Otis Modern Art 03: Modernity and Realism Pt 3: 19th Century Photography
Dr. Parme Giuntini, Director of Art History at Otis College of Art and Design, presents this series on Modern Art. She will discuss the movements and ideas that changed our perspectives on art and art making. She will begin with Realism in France, around 1850, and finish with Abstract Expressionism in New York City in the mid-20th Century. In this chapter, Dr. Giuntini discusses Photography, one of the most interesting inventions of the 19th Century. Photography changed how people thought about the notion of reality. Did photographs really show reality? Was photography even considered fine art?

Surreal and Magical Realism Fine Art by William Otto
The consistent theme that underlies my creative process is the dream experience. In the dream, all of the personalities, situations, locations, objects, etc., are in some way an expression of the person dreaming, thrown up by the subconscious to be experienced in such a way as to suggest other dimensions; realms that depart from the order of things as we experience them in waking consciousness. As an artist it is this suggestion of other dimensions accessed through the psychic experience of the dream that provides the link to surrealism and magical realism as a form of artistic expression. My source for developing this approach to the creative process was achieved in part by researching Carl Jungs theories of the subconscious, as well as researching the evolution of the surrealist aesthetic that seemed to run through art history centuries before its mature expression in the twentieth century.

Realistic Drawing: The Homeless Fisherman
UPDATE Just so everyone knows, the clothes were like that in the picture. i didn't get lazy, they are that dark. I'm so very sorry it took so long to upload any new drawings. This drawing took a lot of strain, frustration, procrastination, and unhappiness (I hated drawing the beard, never again...) I'm happy that this drawing is finished and that i can move on. The music was also made by me! can you name all the video game references in it? ;) oh yeah! how do you like the new outro?? I think its suits me better than the 3D rendered one. Comment, Rate, Subscribe, Share!! :D
