How to Make a PVC Rocket Cannon
This video demonstrates how to fire a rocket under the power of a flammable aerosol. Hairspray or a flammable spray deodorant are the fuels of choice. The total cost of this project assuming the tools needed are already available is about $25. For that price you can make 4 rockets for the launcher, as the foam sleeping pad that they are made of is large enough to make multiples. Parts & Tools: 1. 18" x 3" Pressure Rated PVC Pipe 2. 3" Pressure Rated PVC End Cap 3. Piezoelectric BBQ Igniter or Flint & Steel Lantern Striker (Available at hardware or sporting goods stores) 4. 2 Self Tapping Screws if using a BBQ Ignitor 5. Foam Sleeping Pad 6. 2 Liter Soda Bottle 7. Duct or Packaging Tape 8. Hot Glue 9. Drill & Bits 10. PVC Primer & Cement

DIY - Bending PVC Pipe with Air Pressure - HenryWitecki.com (Cataclyst) and Chris Powell
See what I made with all of that bent PVC - www.youtube.com The motor I used was actually a loaner from a friend, it is about 400 dollars, but is far beyond what the bender requires, it could have turned steel. You need any low speed 20-60rpm (but not necessarily adjustable) decent torque motor . If you're just bending a couple of lengths you might simply turn it by hand. I was bending over 100 12 foot lengths of pipe. For the tube that runs through the rubber stopper, we used lamp rod, which we cross threaded, and loaded with lots of Teflon tape. You would be much better off taking a quick release air coupler to a machinist and asking him to make you 2 threaded tubes that the coupler can screw onto (1 for backup). You could also tap it yourself if you have the tools. You're going to drill out your stopper and run the tube through, put a nylon washer, steel washer then lock washer on either side and tighten down the exposed hex nut once you put it in the end of your pipe to squish the rubber stopper into place. The other side is simply a hex nut, with a nylon washer, steel washer, then hex bolt that clamp the stopper into place. You want your steel washer to be as close in diameter to the inside of your pipe as possible, and you want the interior diameter of your nylon washer to be as close to your threaded tube size as possible. (you want to have to turn it on) www.cataclyst.org This is documentation of a process for PVC bending developed by Henry Witecki and Chris ...

To celebrate, I went back and looked for the most requested build-along. The most requested video was a crossbow, so today I proudly introduce the 100 pound PVC crossbow. It's a pretty powerful crossbow with a 100 pound prod, PVC stirrup, captive rest and a simple lever trigger. It's nice and stable because the bolt nocks directly onto the string and is held in the front with a captive rest. This allows the crossbow to be fired sideways and upside-down. I'll be posting the build-along very soon, so stay tuned! Thanks for watching and enjoy.

How to Make the 80 Pound PVC Longbow Part 1
New book! Simple PVC Pipe Bows Book - www.amazon.com Hey everybody, today we'll be building an 80 pound longbow with PVC pipe, the same one in my last shooting video. This is the first part in which we'll flatten the limbs and shape the handle. This bow is very large, while not extremely long at only 66 inches, it is wide at around 2-2.5 inches in width and it weighs a few pounds. The bow has no fillers or internal supports. While it is a bit on the bulky side, it's a good example of what can be done with a single length of PVC pipe. Simple PVC Pipe Bows Book - www.amazon.com

Simple PVC Horse Bow
Simple PVC Pipe Bows Book - www.amazon.com Hey everybody, just a little video on how I make PVC pipe bows. I love giving these bows away to friends to help carry on the archery bug, and to entice them to make some self-bows with me! The bow in this video is in the same style as my favorite PVC bow, the little red one in the background when I'm cutting the nocks. It should come out to be about 44 inches when strung, and with 3/4" pipe, expect about 40 to 45 pounds at a 28" draw. For some reason, the brace height needs to be about six and a half to seven inches or the weight changes. As far as durability, that little red bow has been alive for quite some time, and has lasted at least a few thousand shots with no sign of stopping. Be careful, though, as PVC can collapse, and if you don't take care, it can degrade and break over time. Keep the bow cool, don't leave it in your car when it is really hot, and keep it unstrung when not in use. It will last if you take care of it. Check out my books! STAIR ROVER
Material : aluminum, maple, bamboo, PU rubber, PVC
Inspiring action
The piece aims to expanding the capability and possibility of extreme sports as we understand them. Inherited from our natural instincts, sliding as children and snowboarding as adults, the focus is on one of the most influential and stimulating sports - skateboading, aiming to push the boundaries further. The piece creates a groundbreaking form of sport which previously never existed and utilises the hidden energy of our cities - stairs. STAIR ROVER – the Stairboard is a product that relies on the other product - stairs, which are found easily within the human habitat, especially in cities. This is an outstanding performance reflecting where we as residents live and what we love.
Inspiring values
Extreme sports are hugely various and engages many people to be involved. Indeed, extreme sports are one if the latest crazes in our culture with kids as young as four and five years old fascinated by it. This is an innate behaviour from the deepest recesses of ourselves, keen to challenge ourselves and look for the edge of what we are capable of. It is an activity highly reliant on the balance of danger, control and excitement. There are very few sports which can compete with skateboarding which can boast so many people having experienced them so enthusiastically in this generation.
Creating a legacy
No city is so fascinating and encouraging as London. Few can outline the metropolitan diversity so perfectly as this place. The Barbican Centre presents its Urban Stories, indicating that the sub-culture of graffiti, free-running, skateboarding, street dance, and extreme sports are now accepted and a valid and valuable influence on our generation. London is my inspiration. It leads me to craft a new hybrid sport around the classic skateboard and novel stair climbing mechanism. The project aims to create a new experience for users to rove along the landscape of the city. This advanced boarding activity turns boundaries and restrictions into a positive and creative physical enquiry into the ever changing kinesis of the urban ecosystem.

Jay Boy's No Budget Tutorials 03: DIY Filming Dolly With 10' Track
I've seen tons of plans for these things. Here's mine! This project can be done for under $100 (if you don't screw it up like I did). The audio is horrid, I know. Don't care though! Below is a list of parts you will need, you can figure out what tools to use. I include some footage at the end, using this dolly. If you have a slow computer, or you don't have the most recent copy of flash installed, panning and side motions (hell, any motion) will look like crap! Viewed this video on a computer other than mine & I couldn't watch it. Too damn jerky! And YES, this is "No Budget" compared to what you would pay for a pro setup.
PARTS:
(1) 32" square x 3/4" thick piece of plywood
(8) Soft inline skate wheels
(2) 32" pieces of 1 1/2" angle aluminum (1/8" wall thickness)
(8) 1/4" / 20x2" hex bolts
(8) 1/4" flat washers
(28) 1/4" nuts
(16) 1 1/4" fender washers
(4) 1/4"x2 1/2" carriage bolts
(2) 10' pieces of 1" sch. 40 PVC pipe
(1) 5/16" drill bit
(1) Medium size drill bit (smaller then your 5/16" bit)
(1) Small drill bit (I used a 9/32" bit for my starter holes)

Flattening and Shaping the PVC Bow Core - Flattened PVC Pipe Horse Part 2 of 4
Here's part two of our flattened PVC pipe horse bow with wood siyahs. In this video we will be flattening the bow core, shaping the handle and imparting a little reflex into the handle section. It is very important to use caution when heating anything. Wear heat resistant gloves, oven mitts, or at least use a hot pad. When the pipe gets hot enough to flatten, it is also hot enough to cause severe burns and could possibly fuse with your skin which would cause a lot of injury. You also want to heat the pipe outside or in good ventilation. A respirator is highly reccomended as hot PVC can put off some pretty harmful fumes. To flatten the bow core, all you need is a flattening jig, a heat source and a PVC pipe. For this bow I'm using 3/4" PVC pipe cut to 34 inches. I got that measurement by taking 48", which is a good baseline (the pipe is under a lot of stress but can still take a little more) for 3/4" pipe and removing the 18 combined inches of my siyahs. Then I added 4" for the two 2" overlap required for the splice. If you are hoping to make a heavier weight bow, I suggest moving up to 1" pipe. If flattening any pipe, add or remove spacers on your flattening jig to reflect the diameter of the pipe. For example, 3/4" pipe is actually 1" in diameter. So we will use a spacer that is 3/4" tall. For 1" pipe, use a 1" spacer and so on. 54 inches is a good high-stress baseline for 1 inch pipe and 60 inches is the baseline for 1 1/4". With these lengths, you will end up with ...
