Some animation, complete with one-inch dropouts and VTR instability, that I worked on for WTBS back in the early 80s. The music is from 'The Electric Horseman,' which was our 'image' music for some reason...and the voice on the end is Mr. Bill Tullis, who was often the voice of TBS and CNN back then.

Jim Samples, president of the Cartoon Network since August 2001, resigned on February 9, 2007 due to the 2007 Boston bomb scare. On the 17.06.2007 art group Ztohoven secretly altered Czech TV broadcast. They inserted footage into the Panorama program of ČT2 channel showing illusionary nuke explosion in picturesque setting of Krkonoše Mountains.
Their aim was to contribute to discussion about media manipulation, hence the entire action was called “The Media Reality”. However in the end, it touched upon many other topics. Regardless of the action’s point, the artists were labeled dangerous hackers and digital pirates. The debate about media (in)dependence swiftly turned into a hoax accusation. Whole hell broke loose as they accidentally tapped system’s weak points, many more than they had originally expected. These days seven members of up to the point anonymous group are dragged from court to court. Fined by the council for public TV and radio broadcast on one side, awarded by National Gallery’s prize NG 333 on the other, Ztohoven members gave birth to an action which, over the period of one year, has grown into unforeseen dimensions.

I was hired as a lighting director and a director of photography by Turner to set up and shoot a sit-down interview with John Thompson Jr. and Paul Pierce.
Dave and I picked up two Sony F900 HDCAMs, one Panasonic 900 DVCPRO HD, an Arri light kit, HD monitors, tripods, and tape stock from Rule Broadcast. I also brought some of my own gear.
We drove to Healthpoint athletic complex (practice and training facility for the Boston Celtics) and met up with another camera guy, Chris and the sound guy, Bill.
I set up my Sony EX1 with the Letus Extreme in the back of the "Hall of Fame" room at Healthpoint to capture a time lapse of our entire day. 9:30am to 3pm.
This sit-down interview is scheduled to air on October 28th during the one hour pre-game show before the Cavs/Celtics game at 7pm EST.
