This name uses Spanish naming customs; the first or paternal family name is Albéniz and the second or maternal family name is Pascual.
Isaac Manuel Francisco Albéniz y Pascual (29 May 1860, Camprodon -- 18 May 1909, Cambo-les-Bains) was a Spanish Catalan pianist and composer best known for his piano works based on folk music idioms (many of which have been transcribed by others for guitar).
Born in Camprodon, province of Girona, to Ángel Albéniz (a customs official) and his wife Dolors Pascual, Albéniz was a child prodigy who first performed at the age of four. At age seven, after apparently taking lessons from Antoine François Marmontel, he passed the entrance examination for piano at the Paris Conservatoire, but he was refused admission because he was believed to be too young.
His concert career began at the young age of nine when his father toured both Isaac and his sister, Clementina, throughout northern Spain. By the time he had reached 12, he had made many attempts to run away from home. A popular myth is that at the age of 12 Albéniz stowed away in a ship bound for Buenos Aires. He then made his way via Cuba to the United States, giving concerts in New York and San Francisco and then travelled to Liverpool, London and Leipzig. By age 15, he had already given concerts worldwide. This over-dramatized story is not entirely true. Albéniz did travel the world as a performer, however he was accompanied by his father. As a customs agent he was required to travel frequently. After a juxtaposition of Isaac's concert dates, on his alleged adventure, and his father's travel itinerary it is apparent that they were traveling together. After a short stay at the Leipzig Conservatory, in 1876 he went to study in Brussels. In 1880, he went to Budapest to study with Franz Liszt, only to find out that Liszt was in Weimar, Germany.
In 1883, he met the teacher and composer Felip Pedrell, who inspired him to write Spanish music such as the Chants d'Espagne. The first movement (Prelude) of that suite, later retitled after the composer's death as Asturias (Leyenda), is probably most famous today as part of the classical guitar repertoire, even though it was originally composed for piano and only later transcribed. (Many of Albéniz's other compositions were also transcribed for guitar, notably by Francisco Tárrega). At the 1888 Universal Exposition in Barcelona, the piano manufacturer Erard sponsored a series of 20 concerts featuring Albéniz's music

Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro,[2] OIH, (born 5 February 1985),[3] commonly known as Cristiano Ronaldo, is a Portuguese footballer who plays as a forward for Spanish La Liga club Real Madrid and is the captain of the Portuguese national team. Ronaldo became the most expensive footballer in history after moving from Manchester United to Real Madrid in a transfer worth £80 million (€93.9 million/$131.6 million). In addition, his contract with Real Madrid, in which he is paid €12 million per year, makes him one of the highest-paid footballers in the world,[4] and his buyout clause is valued at €1 billion as per his contract.[5]
Ronaldo began his career as a youth player for Andorinha, where he played for two years, before moving to C.D. Nacional. In 1997, he made a move to Portuguese giants Sporting Clube de Portugal. Ronaldo caught the attention of Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson, who signed him for £12.24 million (€15 million) in 2003. The following season, Ronaldo won his first club honour, the FA Cup. He also played at Euro 2004 with Portugal and scored his first international goal in the opening game of the tournament against Greece, in addition to helping Portugal reach the final.
Ronaldo was the first player to win all four main PFA and FWA awards, doing so in 2007. In 2008, Ronaldo won the Ballon d'Or.[6] He placed second in the Ballon d'Or in 2007, 2009, and 2011. He was awarded the European Golden Shoe in both 2008 and 2011. In 2008, he won three of the four main PFA and FWA trophies and was named the FIFPro Player of the Year, World Soccer Player of the Year, Onze d'Or, and the FIFA World Player of the Year.[7][8][9] In 2007 and 2008, Ronaldo was named FWA Footballer of the Year. Ronaldo was the inaugural winner of the FIFA Puskás Award in 2009.
Ronaldo holds numerous former and current scoring records, including records for most goals scored in a season for Real Madrid, most goals scored per minute in La Liga, first top European league player to reach 40 goals in a single season in two consecutive years, fastest Real Madrid player to reach one hundred league goals, and the first player ever to score against every team in a single season in La Liga.[10]

First Food With Commissioner Nancy Sites-Kline City of St. Augustine
On June 19th filmmaker Bruce Merwin documented the first annual heritage food event of the living history group, Los Compañeros de la Cocina (The Companions of the Kitchen).
The founding of Florida in the 16th century saw the blending of European, African and Native American food ways and the birth of the first uniquely American cuisine.
Florida's food-related firsts include:
• the first introduction of Old World livestock, food crops, and draft animals into the continental U.S. by Don Juan Ponce de León at the first European colony in 1521
• the first restaurants/bars in the continental U.S. -- the Olmos family ran a taberna in St. Augustine, c. 1576, while another was owned by Don Martín de Argüelles the Elder, the city's first alcalde (mayor)
• the first agricultural exports in the continental U.S. -- onions began to be shipped from St. Augustine to Havana in the 1580s
• the first public market in the continental U.S., established by Governor Don Gonzalo Méndez de Canzo in 1598, who also built the first grist mill and the first slaughterhouse
• the first cattle ranches in the continental U.S. -- the Hacienda de la Chua (now Alachua County, FL) was founded c. 1640 by the Menéndez Marquez family; other 17th-century, Florida ranches included Abosaya, Acuitasigue, and la Rosa del Diablo
• the first cattle drives in the continental U.S. -- by the late-1640s, Native American and African vaqueros (cowboys) were driving herds to St. Augustine, where the cattle were slaughtered, the beef sold, and the hides and tallow exported to Havana.
Los Compañeros presented interpretations and demonstrations of the food ways of early Florida and the southeastern U.S. on June 19th from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Colonial Spanish Quarter Museum in St. Augustine.
Established in 2008, La Compañeros de la Cocina is a venue for those interested in studying and re-creating the food and food ways of Florida and the southeastern United States in the 16th and 17th centuries. The group's goal is to assist in the authentic and historically accurate reproduction of our region's early cuisine and culinary customs (within the bounds of modern hygiene and safety standards).
This annual, heritage Event is sponsored by La Compañeros de la Cocina, with the support and assistance of volunteers from Mission San Luis in Tallahassee, as well as the City of St. Augustine's Department of Heritage Tourism, and the St. Johns County Tourist Development Council.
For more information on La Compañeros de la Cocina, please call, toll-free, 1-877-FLA-HIST (1-877-352-4478).
Los Compañeros de la Cocina is a member unit of Florida Living History, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit, educational organization dedicated to the support of living history activities, events, and portrayals related to the history of Florida.

Dungawin Mo Hirang (Harana) -Ruben Tagalog
A composition by Prof. Santiago S. Suarez, "Dungawin Mo Hirang" is one of the immortal "Harana" song of the Tagalogs. Interpreted by the "King of Kundiman", Ruben Tagalog under the music supervision of Leopoldo Silos. Audio is digitally remastered and enhanced by Philclassic.

HARANA
Harana, also known as Habanera Filipina, is a Philippine serenade which derives its rhythmic element from the Spanish Tango or Habanera. While the Spanish version has a lively, seductive tempo, the Filipino version is romantic, lyrical and slow.
Harana is the old Filipino courtship tradition of serenading women. It has been practiced mostly in rural areas and small towns of the Tagalog region. The man, usually accompanied by his close friends, goes to the house of the woman he is courting and plays guitar music and sings love songs (Kundiman) to her.
In a variation called "Tapat", practiced in small towns of Ilocos, the lady answers with a song that might hint that the man has to court her for a long time. The man counters with an even more passionate song, and the exchange continues until the pair come to an understanding.
Similar to "Tapat" is the Maranao tubad-tubad, where the repartee is in verse rather than in song.

RUBEN TAGALOG
(1922 -1984)
Ruben Tagalog (born October 18, 1922) is a Filipino actor and singer, famous for his revival and rendering of old Tagalog Kundiman songs. He was also once a part of the Mabuhay Singers.
He first caught the attention of radio listeners in the '40s when he hosted his own radio program, Harana ni Ruben Tagalog. His baritone voice filled his songs Ramona, Sayang, Azucena and Nasaan Ka Ngayon with emotion.
He revived danzas and balitaws like Nahan Kaya Ikaw, Bakit Ka Lumuluha, Barong Tagalog, Dalagang Pilipina and Caprichosa. He was the first artist to record Bayan Ko and Ang Pasko ay Sumapit.
Ruben Tagalog was first encouraged to take a singing career path by National Artist Atang dela Rama while singing with teenager friends in a local pier in his hometown Iloilo. In 1937, he and his two older sisters moved to Manila to try their career in singing. The three started humbly by singing from house to house, until they were discovered by showman Lou Salvador. As the group known as the Wanderers Trio, Ruben and his sisters sang at the Plaza Theater and at radio musical shows. As he went solo, his career flourished singing in radio programs and even hosting his own program entitled Harana ni Ruben, and eventually in stage shows at Clover Theater.
Inspite of his last name being "Tagalog", he was actually a Visayan from Iloilo and was a speaker of the Visayan language Hiligaynon (aka Ilonggo). He released at least two Cebuano Visayan albums. "Ruben Tagalog sings Visayan Songs" and a duet album with Cebuana singer Nora Hermosa called "Duet In Visayan".
In the early 1950s he became the first to popularize the Tagalog version of the 1933 Visayan Christmas carol "Kasadya Ning Takna-a" as "Ang Pasko Ay Sumapit". The Tagalog lyrics were written by Levi Celerio.
Ruben Tagalog emigrated to the United States in the early 1970s. He died on March 5, 1984.

Prank Airport Announcements - copyright http://www.queenhill.demon.co.uk/airspeak/air_speak.htm
Audio pinched from another website. Airport announcers were tricked into making these announcements under the pretence that they were foreign names.
This was not made by me - I pinched the audio from another website (see credit in video) and made it into a video.
Here is the story ...
"Wed go and sit on the balcony at Terminal 3 at Heathrow, directly under one of the speakers as the roof is low. We put the tape machine in our bag with the microphone poking out of the top. Wed look for a flight that had arrived in the last 40 minutes from somewhere where youd expect mental names, then write a letter saying, 'Could you go and pick up etc. etc. from flight, etc.' That way, it looked like itd been arranged in advance as the flight arrival details were written on the note. We also wore an ID-style badge and carried a mobile so that we looked like taxi drivers. One of us would get the first one read out and then the other did the second. We d pretend to be unable to pronounce it and then hand them the bit of paper with the name written on it. Long winded, but well worth it!
"We got rumbled doing the 'My colleague just, etc.' They actually threatened to arrest us as apparently theyd actually had complaints over the previous weeks! We were toying with doing it again just to see what theyd arrest us for, but we rang Chris and all he said was, 'Go to Gatwick!' This is the reason the last one sounds so crap cos Gatwick is a much noisier place and the ceilings are high, and it was difficult to get near a speaker. The lengths we had to go to ...."
