The name Robert is a Germanic given name, from Proto-Germanic *χrōþi- "fame" and *berχta- "bright". Compare Old Dutch Robrecht and Old High German Hrodebert (a compound of hruod "fame, glory" and berht "bright"). It is also in use as a surname.
After becoming widely used in Continental Europe it entered England in its Old French form Robert, where an Old English cognate form (Hrēodbēorht, Hrodberht, Hrēodbēorð, Hrœdbœrð, Hrœdberð) had existed before the Norman Conquest. The feminine version is Roberta. The Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish form is Roberto.
Similar to the name, Richard, "Robert" is also a common name in many Germanic languages, including English, German, Dutch, Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, and Icelandic. It can be used as a French, Hungarian, Finnish, and Estonian name as well.
Robert, and also the name Joseph, were in the top 10 most given boys' names in the US for 47 years, from 1925 to 1972.
In Italy during the Second World War, the form of the name, Roberto, briefly acquired a new meaning derived from, and referring to the Rome-Berlin-Tokyo Axis.

Robert George Young was an American television, film, and radio actor, best known for his leading roles as Jim Anderson, the father character in Father Knows Best (NBC and then CBS), and the physician Marcus Welby in Marcus Welby, M.D. Born in Chicago, Young was the son of an Irish immigrant father, Thomas E. Young, and an American mother, Margaret Fife. When Young was young, the family moved to different locations within the U.S.: Seattle, followed by Los Angeles, where Young became a student at Abraham Lincoln High School. After graduation, he studied and performed at the Pasadena Playhouse while working at odd jobs and appearing in bit parts in silent films. While touring with a stock company producing The Ship, Young was discovered by a Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer talent scout with whom he su...
When I was naming the clips for this video, I labeled one "Classic Montgomery Face" and it made me realize how I could never do a tribute for any modern day actor. No one brings theirself to their character anymore. It is all about adopting a "realistic" approach to the character. Well I don't want real. And that's why I make these tributes. It is obvious that Robert Montgomery was like most of his characters in real life. You only have to watch Bewitched and see Samantha make those same comical faces as her father's doppelganger. So Happy Birthday Mr. Montgomery, you were an original.

Saxon insists on so many meetings, changes and revisions that it cause a rift between Eric and Janet. Saxon goes to Hollywood to get a prominent actor to play the lead but the actor, no fan of Saxon, declines. Saxon then deliberately robs his own girlfriend of her chance in Hollywood. The actor then comes to New York and offers to do the play, if someone other than Saxon is the producer. Robert Montgomery ... Matt Saxon Susan Hayward ... Janet Busch John Payne ... Vincent Price plays a one-time actor who suffered a crippling injury early in his career. Now managing a inn, he takes great delight in influencing the lives of his guests - in negative ways. This is a very old and very rare recording from the classic 1950's TV show, so apologies for the quality.

We always have to keep in mind that a Documentary, after all, can tell lies and it can tell lies because it lays claim to a form of veracity which fiction doesn't. Some of the documentaries are made just to discredit some particular person, party, organization, system etc, but most of them here on TDF are non biased, without prejudice and worth watching.
