Invasio Barbarorum: The Historical Battle of Adrianople 378 AD 1/2
I was a bit bored today so i made a vid playing Invasio Barbarorum's historical battle of Adrianople 378 AD between the Eastern Romans & the Visigoths. Unlike the real battle of Adrianople, Emperor Valens & the Romans are the winners here over Fritigern & the Visigoths. When the gothic relief force arrived i wasn't expecting so many horses but my scholae palatinae, my catafractarii, my auxilia & my milites managed to beat them off. At one point i was getting really pissed off when i was ordering my infantry units repeatedly to go fight the goths in the wagon circil & they didn't obey me, but at last they went. Both enemy Commanders got killed.

Time Commanders: Battle of Adrianople Part 1/5
Time Commanders: The Battle of Adrianople Part 1. It uses an edited version of the game engine behind the real-time strategy game Rome: Total War by the Creative Assembly to recreate famous battles of the ancient world. The battles are replayed by 4-player teams from diverse backgrounds. The teams are unfamiliar with computer games, to make sure their gaming skills do not influence their success. After a brief introduction of the battle, including an overview of military units, terrain and available forces, the players have to develop a strategy and then deploy their forces. Two of the players are selected as generals, who will direct the battle and have access to a strategic map. The other two players are designated lieutenants; the units are indirectly controlled by the lieutenants, who issue commands to program assistants, who in turn use the game interface to control the units.

Time Commanders Battle of Adrianople Part 2nd of 5
The Battle of Adrianople (August 9, 378), sometimes known as the Battle of Hadrianopolis, was fought between a Roman army led by the Roman Emperor Valens and Gothic rebels (largely Thervings as well as Greutungs, non-Gothic Alans, and various local rebels) led by Fritigern. The battle took place about 8 miles or 13 kilometers north of Adrianople (modern Edirne in European Turkey, near the border with Greece and Bulgaria) in the Roman province of Thracia and ended with an overwhelming victory for the Goths. Part of the Gothic War (376382), the battle is often considered the start of the final collapse of the Western Roman Empire in the 5th century. Ironically, Adrianople actually was fought between the Goths and the Eastern Roman Empire, which ultimately withstood the Gothic invasions and developed into the Byzantine Empire. RTW/Invasio Barbarorum FD: The Battle of Adrianople 378AD (((With Full Edited Units))) 1/2
The Battle of Adrianople 378 AD, when the migrating Goths led by Fritigern crushed a Roman army led by the impatient Eastern Roman Emperor Valens which he also ended up killed. Had Emperor Valens waited a little longer for the Western Roman Emperor Gratian to join with his army the outcome would very likely end diffrently. Valens attacked the Gothic infantry in their wagon ring while the Gothic cavalry was away looking for food. Either he wanted all glory for himself or simply wanted to attack the Gothic army while it was split in 2 halfs, he attacked them & got suddenly enveloped by the gothic cavalry led by Alatheus as it arrives to Fritigern's rescue. The main Eastern Roman army with the majority of its best units was in Armenia at the time fighting the Sassanians so Valens had only a few veteran units some of them which he recalled from the east & the majority of the army he gathered was made up of limitanei border troops & workers from the population. He still might achieved victory had he waited for Gratian but obviously he didn't know the future & seeing the gothic army split in 2 he wanted to attack. Since i'm playing as Romans the goths will lose this one, this is NOT a historically correct battle, i'm just beating the game but with more units than before. With full edited units i had some problems with glitches in this scenario battle, because of the tight space between wagons when ordering a unit either to enter the wagon ring or coming out from it, but i ...
