Syrian Arab Army beat militia rebel during Syrian uprising
The Syrian uprising (2011--present) is an ongoing, violent internal conflict in Syria. It is part of the wider Arab Spring, a wave of upheaval throughout the Arab World. Public demonstrations across Syria began on 26 January 2011 and developed into a nationwide uprising. Protesters demanded the resignation of President Bashar al-Assad, the overthrow of his government, and an end to nearly five decades of Ba'ath Party rule. Since spring 2011, the Syrian government has deployed the Syrian Army to quell the uprising. Several cities have been besieged, but nevertheless the unrest continues. According to witnesses, soldiers who refused to open fire on civilians were summarily executed by the Syrian Army. The Syrian government denied reports of defections, and blamed "armed gangs" for causing trouble. Since early autumn 2011, civilians and army defectors began forming fighting units, which began an insurgency campaign against the Syrian Army. The insurgents unified under the banner of the Free Syrian Army and fought in an increasingly organized fashion; however, the civilian component of the armed opposition lacks an organized leadership. The uprising has sectarian undertones, though neither faction in the conflict has described sectarianism as playing a major role. The opposition is dominated by Sunni Muslims, whereas the leading government figures are Alawites, affiliated with Shia Islam. As a result, the opposition is winning support from the Sunni Muslim states, whereas the government is publicly supported by the Shia dominated Iran and the Lebanese Hezbollah.- published: 22 May 2012

Syria In Bible Prophecy
Syria In Bible Prophecy
From the above we see that Syria appears to have few friends at present and history shows that relations between Syria and Israel have always been hostile. The Old Testament records that King David had a number of victories over the Syrians who finally became his subjects. In Solomon's time Zobah was, "an adversary to Israel all the days of Solomon ..... and he abhorred Israel, and reigned over Syria." (1Ki 11:23-25) In the reign of Solomon's son Rehoboam, Syria revolted and eventually became part of the Assyrian empire, then passed to the Babylonians, the Persians and finally to Alexander the Great. After his death, in the power struggles between the rulers of Syria and Egypt, Syria was given the name 'The King of the North' in Daniel 11. Later Syria was Ruled by Rome, then the Byzantine Empire and in AD637 it fell to the Islamic conquests. Syrian independence came in 1946, then followed a series of wars with Israel - the Arab-Israeli War (1948- the last Arab country to sign an armistice agreement with Israel) - The Six Day War (June 1967) - the Yom Kippur War. (Oct 1973). Relations with surrounding nations improved in the 1990s when they joined the Coalition in the war against Saddam Hussein. However, the Government's violent oppression of demonstrators against the regime has caused most nations to turn against them. The United Nations estimates that around 6,000 people have been killed in Syria since the uprising began in March 2011. The United States, Turkey and Jordan, as well as the members of the European Union and the Arab League have all called for Mr Assad to step down . Russia, however, remains a staunch defender, providing Damascus with a political lifeline as well as arms and ammunition. The reason seems plain, Russia sees democracies on the rampage, and feels that a line has to be drawn against any further regime change. Apart from Mr Putin appearing to his people to have been wrong footed over this matter, Russia's concern is not ideological but economic. They lost tens of billions of dollars in arms contracts with Libya when Muammar Gaddafi was ousted and don't want to lose Syrian arms contracts for weapons and fighter planes worth up to $6 billion. Also Syria, where Russia maintains a naval base, is the only ally Russia has left in the Middle East. Syria became the head of a great Empire after Alexander's death, a great contrast with her present status. And while Russia and China wish to bolster up this regime, Bible prophecy indicates that Syria may not just lose its President but also disappear as a nation shortly before the Return of Christ. Syria in Prophecy Here is what Amos and Jeremiah have prophesied concerning the fate of Syria.. Amos 1: 3 Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Damascus, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have threshed Gilead with threshing instruments of iron: 4 But I will send a fire into the house of Hazael, which shall devour the palaces of Benhadad**. 5 I will break also the bar of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant from the plain of Aven, and him that holdeth the sceptre from the house of Eden: and the people of Syria shall go into captivity unto Kir, saith the LORD. Jeremiah 49: 23 Concerning Damascus. Hamath is confounded, and Arpad: for they have heard evil tidings: they are fainthearted; there is sorrow on the sea; it cannot be quiet. 24 Damascus is waxed feeble, and turneth herself to flee, and fear hath seized on her: anguish and sorrows have taken her, as a woman in travail. 25 How is the city of praise not left, the city of my joy! 26 Therefore her young men shall fall in her streets, and all the men of war shall be cut off in that day, saith the LORD of hosts. 27 And I will kindle a fire in the wall of Damascus, and it shall consume the palaces of Benhadad**. **The royal title of the Kings of Syria ( the country's authoritarian leader President Bashar al-Assad?)- published: 18 Sep 2013

September 7 2013 Breaking News Syrian civil war crisis started by kids writing graffiti on wall
September 7 2013 Breaking News Syrian civil war crisis started because of kids writing graffiti on wall - Last days final Hour end times news prophecy update. The crisis involving nations including super powers Iran, Israel, Russia, China, USA, terrorists AL-quada, Hezbollah and other surrounding nations at the brink of world war 3 that could well be underway This all started because On 15 March 2011, a protest movement against the Syrian government began to escalate, as simultaneous demonstrations took place in major cities across Syria. The uprising was sparked by the arrest of children aged 9 to 15 years who had written anti-government graffiti on a wall in Daraa. Thousands of protestors gathered in al-Hasakah, Daraa, Deir ez-Zor, and Hama. There were some clashes with security forces, according to reports from dissident groups. On 18 March 2011, the most serious unrest to take place in Syria for decades erupted. After online calls for a "Friday of Dignity" (Arabic: جمعة الكرامة), thousands of protesters demanding an end to alleged government corruption took to the streets of cities across Syria. The protesters were met with a violent crackdown orchestrated by state security forces. Now to the present day after 2 yrs of civil war the world finds itself engulfed with day to day news in Syria asking what next as superpowers take sides....Russia, Iran and China, backing the Syrian Govt and the USA as a superpower on its own backing the rebels to include terrorists USA citizens tax $$$ are supplying weapons to terrorism. The reality is this does not look promising rather very concerning...does one think this is all happening by mistake or just because or just another insignificant war....unless for some miracle that everything settles with diplomacy..at this stage of worldwide superpower war games the past few months ..it will have to be a miracle otherwise every human being needs to brace for some troubling days ahead....I am praying for the miracle....even if things simmer down and things get resolved and the criminals are prosecuted the big picture whether now or in the not to distant future world war three will be upon us..the question is has it already started because of some kids writing graffiti on the wall. Isaiah 17 New King James Version (NKJV) Proclamation Against Syria and Israel The burden against Damascus. Behold, Damascus will cease from being a city, And it will be a ruinous heap. 2 The cities of Aroer are forsaken;[a] They will be for flocks Which lie down, and no one will make them afraid. 3 The fortress also will cease from Ephraim, The kingdom from Damascus, And the remnant of Syria; They will be as the glory of the children of Israel," Says the Lord of hosts. 4 "In that day it shall come to pass That the glory of Jacob will wane, And the fatness of his flesh grow lean. 5 It shall be as when the harvester gathers the grain, And reaps the heads with his arm; It shall be as he who gathers heads of grain In the Valley of Rephaim. 6 Yet gleaning grapes will be left in it, Like the shaking of an olive tree, Two or three olives at the top of the uppermost bough, Four or five in its most fruitful branches," Says the Lord God of Israel. 7 In that day a man will look to his Maker, And his eyes will have respect for the Holy One of Israel. 8 He will not look to the altars, The work of his hands; He will not respect what his fingers have made, Nor the wooden images[b] nor the incense altars. 9 In that day his strong cities will be as a forsaken bough And an uppermost branch, Which they left because of the children of Israel; And there will be desolation. 10 Because you have forgotten the God of your salvation, And have not been mindful of the Rock of your stronghold, Therefore you will plant pleasant plants And set out foreign seedlings; 11 In the day you will make your plant to grow, And in the morning you will make your seed to flourish; But the harvest will be a heap of ruins In the day of grief and desperate sorrow. 12 Woe to the multitude of many people Who make a noise like the roar of the seas, And to the rushing of nations That make a rushing like the rushing of mighty waters! 13 The nations will rush like the rushing of many waters; But God will rebuke them and they will flee far away, And be chased like the chaff of the mountains before the wind, Like a rolling thing before the whirlwind. 14 Then behold, at eventide, trouble! And before the morning, he is no more. This is the portion of those who plunder us, And the lot of those who rob us.- published: 08 Sep 2013

The Syrian uprising is an ongoing internal conflict in Syria, a part of the wider Arab Spring, that began in January 2011. Public demonstrations first took place on 26 January 2011, but were only a sporadic occurrence until mass protests erupted in Damascus on 15 March.[48] The situation quickly developed into a full-scale nationwide uprising, with protesters demanding the resignation of President Bashar al-Assad and the overthrow of the government. The situation in Syria is part of the Arab Spring, a wave of social upheaval throughout the Arab World demanding greater political freedom and an end to autocracy. Inspired by the successful revolutions in Tunisia and Egypt, Syrian protesters have employed the use of tactics such as marches, hunger strikes, rioting, and vandalism, in a sustained campaign of civil resistance aimed at ending nearly five decades of Ba'athist rule.
