Galion, Ohio
Galion is a city in Crawford, Morrow, and Richland counties in the U.S. state of Ohio. The population was 10,512 at the 2010 census. Galion is the second-largest city in Crawford County after Bucyrus.
The Crawford County portion of Galion is part of the Bucyrus Micropolitan Statistical Area. The small portion of the city that is located in Richland County is part of the Mansfield Metropolitan Statistical Area, while the portion extending into Morrow County is considered part of the Columbus Metropolitan Statistical Area.
History
Settlers arrived in the area as early as 1817. The location was at the crossroads of a north-south road from Columbus to Portland (now known as Sandusky), and the east-west route that later became (part of) the Lincoln Highway and subsequently the Harding Highway.
The name Galion was suggested in 1824 by a postmaster as a unique name when the city first obtained a post office, because the name that was originally proposed would have duplicated the names of other requested Ohio post offices. It is not known for certain whether the name was intended to have any particular meaning otherwise, although several possible etymologies have been posited. The first plat of the settlement, recorded in Richland County, actually gave the community's name as "Greensburg."

Ohio is the debut studio album by American rapper Stalley. The album was released on October 27, 2014, by Maybach Music Group and Atlantic Records. The album features guest appearances from Nipsey Hussle, Rick Ross, August Alsina, Ty Dolla Sign, Rashad and De La Soul. The album was supported by the singles "Always Into Something", "Jackin' Chevys" and "One More Shot".
Background
In July 2012, Stalley announced he had begun recording his debut album, saying: "We're workin' on an album right now. I'm in the studio. I just got in there about a week ago, so it's a whole big process. Right now, I'm thinking maybe top of the year would be the album. I definitely just take [Rick Ross and Wale's] energy, and I definitely watch their energy and watch how they do things. I'm very observant of how they set up their albums and set up their singles and things like that, being that it's all new to me. That's great company to keep and great people to watch."
On August 22, 2014, he announced the album would be titled Ohio in a vlog, saying: "The sound of my current music is intelligent truck music. It’s a sound that’s built for the cars. But you can also enjoy it in your headphones, your computer or however you want to listen to it. Me, growing up, I rode around listening to music. It was kind of like the soundtrack my days or wherever I was going."

Ohio is a double studio album, their seventh overall, by Over the Rhine, released in 2003. The album was released as both a double CD and limited edition double vinyl LP set.
One additional song from these sessions, "Last Night On Earth Again" was released on the Discount Fireworks compilation, albeit in a re-recorded version.

Galion was also once home to North Electric Company, a prime supplier of telephone switching systems for government and international markets. It was also producer of the Ericofon, the first ever one-piece telephone designed by Ralph Lysell and Hugo Blomberg. Founded in 1884 by Charles N. North, the company became part of Ericsson in 1951. It was purchased by ITT in the mid-1970s and operated as ITT PowerSystems until the late 1980s, when it was sold to a private consortium and renamed PECO II (the name is derived from North Electric Company's purchase of Power Equipment Company (PECO) in 1960). Peco II purchased the telecommunications product line and associated assets from ITT in 1988. In 2010, PECO II was acquired by Lineage Power of Plano, Texas and has since closed the plant.

Galion is a city in Crawford County, Ohio. Founded in 1831, the town began as a farm to market town but boomed with the railroad. Koppe-Skinner House located at 201 south union street is the office to the Galion Historical Society. The house was built in 1863 and is one of the oldest houses in Galion. Historic Grace Church was built in 1875. Brownella Cottage and Carriage House Museum is a rare house museum. Built in 1887. The house has its original furnishings and belongings of its only occupants, Bishop William Montgomery Brown and his wife Ella. Tours of the cottage is by appointment. The Howard House was built in 1898 by Adam Howard the founder of Adam Howard Buggy Work. Galion has several beautiful older churches in town. Peace Lutheran Church on south market street is the oldest church building in Galion still in use. It was dedicated in 1875. The tower houses are one of the largest Tubular bell carillons in the world. (Thanks Joe for letting me tour your beautiful church.) Galion History Center features five historic buildings and two museums. Its great to see that this town really embraces its history and takes care of it.

Galion is a city in Crawford, Morrow, and Richland counties in the U.S. state of Ohio. The population was 10,512 at the 2010 census. Galion is the second-largest city in Crawford County after Bucyrus.
The Crawford County portion of Galion is part of the Bucyrus Micropolitan Statistical Area. The small portion of the city that is located in Richland County is part of the Mansfield Metropolitan Statistical Area, while the portion extending into Morrow County is considered part of the Columbus Metropolitan Statistical Area.
The Galion brand of heavy equipment (such as road graders, road rollers, and earthmovers) was manufactured in Galion Iron Works, later purchased by Dresser Industries and then by Komatsu.
Galion was once the home of Peabody Galion, a manufacturer of sanitation equipment, primarily dump bodies, as well as front loading, side-loading and rear loading garbage trucks; rivaling the Heil Company for numbers of units sold throughout the world. For a short time, in the early 1970s, Peabody Galion maintained a manufacturing plant in Durant, Oklahoma, known as "Peabody Galion, Durant Division".
Galion was also once home to North Electric Company, a prime supplier of telephone switching systems for government and international markets. It was also producer of the Ericofon, the first ever one-piece telephone designed by Ralph Lysell and Hugo Blomberg. Founded in 1884 by Charles N. North, the company became part of Ericsson in 1951. It was purchased by ITT in the mid-1970s and operated as ITT PowerSystems until the late 1980s, when it was sold to a private consortium and renamed PECO II (the name is derived from North Electric Company's purchase of Power Equipment Company (PECO) in 1960). Peco II purchased the telecommunications product line and associated assets from ITT in 1988. In 2010, PECO II was acquired by Lineage Power of Plano, Texas and has since closed the plant.

Galion, Ohio
Galion is a city in Crawford, Morrow, and Richland counties in the U.S. state of Ohio. The population was 10,512 at the 2010 census. Galion is the second-largest city in Crawford County after Bucyrus.
The Crawford County portion of Galion is part of the Bucyrus Micropolitan Statistical Area. The small portion of the city that is located in Richland County is part of the Mansfield Metropolitan Statistical Area, while the portion extending into Morrow County is considered part of the Columbus Metropolitan Statistical Area.
History
Settlers arrived in the area as early as 1817. The location was at the crossroads of a north-south road from Columbus to Portland (now known as Sandusky), and the east-west route that later became (part of) the Lincoln Highway and subsequently the Harding Highway.
The name Galion was suggested in 1824 by a postmaster as a unique name when the city first obtained a post office, because the name that was originally proposed would have duplicated the names of other requested Ohio post offices. It is not known for certain whether the name was intended to have any particular meaning otherwise, although several possible etymologies have been posited. The first plat of the settlement, recorded in Richland County, actually gave the community's name as "Greensburg."
