Timi Yuro film satan never sleeps 1962 theme TY - William Holden - Clifton Webb - France Nuyen
"Satan never sleeps" 1962 starting-point at 20 seconds. Based on the novel Satan Never Sleeps by Pearl S. Buck also known by her Chinese name Sài Zhenzhu 賽珍珠Born June 26, 1892 March,6 1973 Beloved by millions of readers. Synopsis: Satan never sleeps In 1949 Catholic priests O'Banion and Bovard are constantly harassed by the Communist People's Party at their remote mission outpost in China. Adding to Father O'Banion's troubles is the mission's cook, Siu Lan, an attractive Chinese girl who makes no secret of her love for him. Under the leadership of Colonel Ho San, the Communists wreck the mission dispensary and desecrate the chapel. Ho San straps O'Banion to a chair and rapes Siu Lan; later, when she gives birth to a son, Ho San displays paternal pride but refuses to stop persecuting the priests. Only after the villagers revolt and his superiors order the killing of all Christians, including his parents, does Ho San become convinced that Communism will never solve China's problems. He decides to smuggle Siu Lan, his son, and the two priests out of the compound, but their journey is halted within a few miles of freedom by a helicopter sent to prevent Ho San's defection. Before he can be restrained, the aged Father Bovard dons Ho San's military cap and coat and drives away in the colonel's car. He dies in a spray of bullets from the helicopter, but his sacrifice enables the others to escape. Later, at mission headquarters in Hong Kong.......etc. etc. Cast William Holden ...

Clifton Webb with Leo Reisman and His Orchestra - Easter Parade (1933)
Charted at #5 in 1933. From the revue, "As Thousands Cheer". Webb and Marilyn Miller sang it in the Broadway revue. Peformed by Bing Crosby in the 1942 movie, "Holiday Inn". Performed by Judy Garland and Fred Astaire in the 1948 movie, "Easter Parade". Much of the melody of this song was earlier used by Berlin in the 1917 song, "Smile and Show Your Dimple" which I have also posted. A #11 hit for Guy Lombardo and His Royal Canadians in 1939, #16 for Harry James and His Orchestra in April 1942 and #7 for Freddie Mitchell and His Orchestra on the R&B; chart in 1950. STEVE HAYES: Tired Old Queen at the Movies - TITANIC (1953)
TITANIC (1953) Barbara Stanwyck, Clifton Webb, Robert Wagner and Thelma Ritter set sail on the maiden voyage of the doomed liner. Shot for glamor in spectacular black and white. With a fictional story set within the confines of the disaster, the acting is top flight and the direction of Jean Negulesco is crisp and sweeping. There is never a dull moment in this panoramic melodrama of hero and coward, saint and sinner, set against one of the greatest tragedies of the last century. Leo Reisman and his Orchestra, Clifton Webb vocal - Easter Parade (1933)
Leo Reisman (1897 - Dec.18,1961) was an influential violinist and bandleader in the 1920s and 1930s. Born and reared in Boston, Reisman studied violin as a young man, and formed his own band in 1919. He became famous for having over 80 hits on the popular charts during his career. Jerome Kern called Reisman's orchestra "The String Quartet of Dance Bands." Reisman recorded for Columbia exclusively from July 1923 through March 11, 1929, when he signed with Victor and stayed until October 1933. He then signed with Brunswick and stayed until 1937 when he re-signed with Victor. During his 1929 - 1933 Victor period, Reisman recorded many lesser-known period Broadway songs, some of which were recorded by no other band. He also had the habit of featuring composers and Broadway performers as band vocalists, including Harold Arlen, Fred Astaire, Clifton Webb, and Arthur Schwartz. He also featured Lee Wiley in 1931 - 1932 for her first 3 recordings. More often than not, his vocalists were Frank Luther, Dick Robertson and later Sally Singer and George Beuler. Reisman's was primarily a dance orchestra; he was not a fan of jazz music, but some of his early 1930s 78 RPM recordings were a bit hot. Screen Guild Theater: Laura / Twelve O'Clock High
Laura Dana Andrews, Gene Tierney, Clifton Webb Twelve O'Clock High Gregory Peck, Ward Bond, Hugh Marlowe, Millard Mitchell, Reed Hadley, John Kellogg Wardell Edwin "Ward" Bond (April 9, 1903 -- November 5, 1960)[1] was an American film actor whose rugged appearance and easygoing charm were featured in over 200 movies and the television series Wagon Train. Bond made his screen debut in Salute, and thereafter played over 200 supporting roles, rarely playing the lead in a theatrical release but starring in the television series Wagon Train from 1957 until his death in 1960. He was frequently typecast as a friendly policeman or as a brutal thug. He had a long-time working relationship with directors John Ford and Frank Capra, performing in such films as The Searchers, Drums Along the Mohawk, The Quiet Man, and Fort Apache for Ford, with whom he made 25 films, and It Happened One Night and It's a Wonderful Life for Capra. Among his other well-known films were Bringing Up Baby (1938), Gone with the Wind (1939), The Maltese Falcon (1941), Sergeant York (1941), They Were Expendable (1945), Joan of Arc (1948), in which he was atypically cast as Captain La Hire, Rio Bravo (1959), and Raoul Walsh's 1930 widescreen wagon train epic The Big Trail, which also featured John Wayne's first leading role. Bond later starred in the popular NBC western television series Wagon Train from 1957 until his death. Wagon Train was inspired by the 1950 film Wagon Master, in which Bond also appeared ...

'You'll be torn in half, unless you make me laugh...'
The demented song of a demon-possessed girl echoes around the decrepit dwelling where she holds two clowns hostage. There is no escape and no reasoning with her, the only way to break free of this nightmare is to somehow make her laugh, just like a good clown should.
Unfortunately, the only thing Dorothy finds funny is blood, terror and despair.

Laura! (Theme From The Film - With Lyrics)
Laura is a 1944 American film noir directed by Otto Preminger. It stars Gene Tierney, Dana Andrews and Clifton Webb. The screenplay by Jay Dratler, Samuel Hoffenstein, and Elizabeth Reinhardt is based on the 1943 novel of the same title by Vera Caspary.
In 1999, Laura was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant". The American Film Institute ranked the film #73 on AFI's 100 Years...100 Thrills, the score #7 in AFI's 100 Years of Film Scores, and it was ranked the fourth best film in the mystery genre in AFI's 10 Top 10.
"Laura" is a 1945 popular song composed by David Raksin, with lyrics written by Johnny Mercer from the 1944 movie starring Gene Tierney and Dana Andrews. It has since become a jazz standard with over four hundred known recordings. The best known versions are by Dick Haymes, Charlie Parker, J. J. Johnson, Woody Herman, Frank Sinatra and Julie London (included on her album Julie Is Her Name). It was adapted from the theme of the 1944 film, Laura. - Wikipedia
Lyrics:
Laura is the face in the misty light
Footsteps that you hear down the hall
The LAUGH that floats on a summer night
That you can never quite recall
And you see Laura on a train that is passing through
Those eyes how familiar they seem
She gave your very first kiss to you
That was Laura but she's only a dream
She gave your very first kiss to you
That was Laura
But she's only a dream...

EASTER PARADE - Clifton Webb and Leo Reisman
Words and music Irving Berlin: Never saw you look quite so lovely before. Never saw you dressed quite so pretty, what's more. I could hardly wait to keep our date this lovely Easter morning, And my heart beat fast as I came through the door for: In your Easter bonnet with all the frills upon it, You'll be the grandest lady in the Easter Parade. I'll be all in clover, and when they look you over I'll be the proudest fellow in the Easter Parade. On the Avenue, Fifth Avenue, The photographers will snap us And you'll find that you're in the rotogravure. Oh, I could write a sonnet about your Easter bonnet And of the girl I'm taking to the Easter Parade.
