Lipa Schmeltzer Sings Brand New Song - "Ein Git Vort"
On Motzei Shabbos during a Mekimi's Anual Volunteer Reunion event, Lipa Schmeltzer surprised the audience with a brand new song. The song which is called "Ein Git Vort" will be on his upcoming album and was composed by Sholi Grossman from Monsey who has been a big help to Lipa throughout his previous albums. The song in Yiddish, describes the power each and every one of us possess, the power of speech. As people tend at times to forget or altogether underestimate the power of the tongue, we must be reminded the verbal power we each have. What one Git Vort can accomplish and Chulilia the harm one Shelcht Vort can do!

Orthodox Jewish Community Show Strong Support To Haitian's in Crisis
Brooklyn, NY - An emergency meeting was held this morning between the leaders of the Jewish and Haitian communities to address the emerging needs of the local Haitian community. The meeting took place at the business office of George Weinberger, chairman of board of trustees of Agudath Israel of America, in Flatbush Brooklyn. Organizing the meeting were community leaders from COJO of Flatbush, Agudath Israel of America and Assemblyman Dov Hikind. Participants included Congresswoman Yvette Clark, Councilman Mathieu Eugene and Councilman Jumaane Williams, who represent the largest Haitian community outside of Florida and Haiti in Brooklyn New York. Also represented was the office of State Senator John Sampson, Senator Kevin Parker and representatives from Councilman Brad Landers office. Other participating Jewish organizations included the Crown Heights Jewish Community Council represented by Rabbi Chanina Sperlin and the Jewish Community Council of Boro-Park represented by Rabbi Yechiel Kaufman and leaders from Agudath Israel of America including members of the board of Trustees Shloime Werdiger, Elly Kleinman and Chaskel Bennett. AARON RAZEL: The Journey
Over the last few years more and more Jews across the globe are discovering the music of Aaron Razel. Was it because of the Krembo song, or perhaps his guest appearance on Yeedle's last album Lev Echad? No one is certain. However, little is actually known about Razel to those of us living in chutz laaretz (outside of Eretz Yisrael). When did he first start playing? Composing? How did he create his signature "style"? In this FIRST VIDEO EVER, Aaron Razel talks to us in his native tongue, ENGLISH. He tells us about his grandfather, a musician and Holocaust survivor, who hid out to survive the war. How his father made sure Aaron and his siblings were taught instruments from an early age, and how a trip to the mystical city of Tzfat helped Razel to compose his first niggunim. In honor of the release of Aaron's upcoming fourth album entitled "Kavati Et Moshavi", Aaron is releasing for the FIRST TIME EVER a version of the title track in ENGLISH. Aaron said "The lyrics to this particular song are not from tefilla or piyutim, but rather a story of my life. "That being the case, I wanted EVERYONE to understand them, English speaking people too," tells Razel. Jerusalem - Snow began falling in the elevated suburbs of Jerusalem on Wednesday January 09 2013 following a deluge of rain that shut down major arteries across Israel and turned highways into raging rivers on Tuesday. As temperatures began falling in the capital, there was some accumulation of snow, including 2cm on the ground in both Gilo and Pisgat Ze'ev. This was sufficient for some enterprising Jerusalemites to build small snowmen and to sled on plastic bags. While public transport is running as per usual, Jerusalem residents have been asked to avoid driving private vehicles after 1 pm to minimize congestion.
