Boundary Street
Boundary Street is a three-lane one-way street in Kowloon, Hong Kong. It runs in the eastbound direction starting at its intersection with Tung Chau Street in the west, and ending at its intersection with Prince Edward Road West in the east, near the former Kai Tak Airport.
Historically, the street marked the boundary between the southern part of Kowloon, ceded by Qing China to the United Kingdom in 1860, and the northern part of Kowloon (New Kowloon), which remained part of China until it was leased as part of the New Territories to the United Kingdom in 1898 for 99 years. After the lease, the boundary was renamed from Boundary Line to Old Frontier Line.
The boundary was made visible by a long line of high bamboo fences which effectively blocked smuggling between Chinese Kowloon and British Kowloon at that time. It became obsolete when New Territories joined the colony.
Although the street is the historical mark on the boundary, the road did not come to exist until 1934, more than 30 years after the lease of boundary north. The road was built to accelerate the development of Kowloon Tong and identify the difference in calculation of rates between the boundary north and south.

Chi Ma Wan
Chi Ma Wan (Chinese: 芝麻灣) is a bay on southeastern Lantau Island, New Territories, Hong Kong. Chi Ma Wan Peninsula (芝麻灣半島) is where Chi Ma Wan, as well as Cheung Sha Wan, Tai Long Wan, Yi Long Wan and Mong Tung Wan are located. The Peninsula is located within the boundaries of Lantau South Country Park.
The Chi Ma Wan Correctional Institution is near Cheung Sha Wan on the peninsula. Established in 1956, it is the first open prison in Hong Kong. It is not currently in use.
The Christian Zheng Sheng College, a school providing correctional services for students, is also located on the peninsula. It is a private institution not affiliated with the Hong Kong Correctional Services Department (HK CSD)
The Sea Ranch (澄碧邨) is a housing estate developed by Hutchison Whampoa Properties in the late 1970s at Yi Long Wan (二浪灣) on Chi Ma Wan Peninsula.
The Sea Ranch is only reachable from the sea as it is located on the coastline of the Lantau South Country Park and has no road access. Ferries from Central Pier no. 5 in Central take 30 minutes, then another ferry from Cheung Chau takes 15 minutes. The ferry from Cheung Chau is free for residents and their invited guests, as the cost is included in the management fee paid by the residents. Only residents and their guests are allowed to visit the property.

Kowloon Bay
Kowloon Bay (simplified Chinese: 九龙湾; traditional Chinese: 九龍灣; Mandarin Pinyin: Jiǔlóngwān; Jyutping: Gau Lung Waan ) is a bay located at the east of the Kowloon Peninsula and north of Hong Kong Island in Hong Kong. It is the eastern portion of Victoria Harbour, between Hung Hom and Lei Yue Mun. The bay is divided into half when the runway of the former Kai Tak International Airport was constructed in the middle of the bay.
The reclamation of north-eastern Kowloon Bay near Ngau Tau Kok is also named Kowloon Bay. It is formerly known as Ngau Tau Kok Industrial Area. After the construction of MTR Kowloon Bay Station, the area is referred as Kowloon Bay. The area near the MTR station is residential while near the shore industrial. The area is traditionally an extension of Ngau Tau Kok, and thus facilities such as Ngau Tau Kok Police Station are located there.
Administratively, the reclamation of Kowloon Bay and water east of the runway except the airport area is part of Kwun Tong District. The airport and the waters of the district, on the other hand, belong to Kowloon City District.

Kowloon Peak
Kowloon Peak or Fei Ngor Shan or Fei Ngo Shan (Chinese: 飛鵝山; pinyin: Fēi'e Shān or 飛鵝山) is a 603 m (1,978 ft) tall mountain in the northeast corner of New Kowloon, Hong Kong, situated in Ma On Shan Country Park. It is crossed by both the Wilson Trail and the MacLehose Trail. On the lower slopes is Gilwell Campsite, belonging to The Scout Association.

Kowloon Peninsula
The Kowloon Peninsula is a peninsula that forms the southern part of the main landmass in the territory of Hong Kong. The Kowloon Peninsula and the area of New Kowloon are collectively known as Kowloon.
Geographically, the term "Kowloon Peninsula" may also refer to the area south of the mountain ranges of Beacon Hill, Lion Rock, Tate's Cairn, Kowloon Peak, etc. The peninsula covers five of the eighteen districts of Hong Kong. Kowloon Bay is located at the northeast of the peninsula.
The main rock type of the peninsula consists of a medium grained biotite monzogranite with some fine granite outcrops, part of the Kowloon Granite [1]. Early maps and photographs show flat, low-lying land behind the beach of Tsim Sha Tsui Bay with a raised area, Kowloon Hill, in the west.
The peninsula has been significantly expanded through land reclamation from the sea, over several phases. In the south and west most of the reclamation was carried out before 1904. Reclamation in several other small areas along the main Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront was completed by 1982. The West Kowloon Reclamation was formed as part of the Airport Core Programme and largely completed by 1995.

Ming Dynasty
The Ming Dynasty, also Empire of the Great Ming, was the ruling dynasty of China for 276 years (1368–1644) following the collapse of the Mongol-led Yuan Dynasty. The Ming, described by some as "one of the greatest eras of orderly government and social stability in human history", was the last dynasty in China ruled by ethnic Han Chinese. Although the Ming capital Beijing fell in 1644 to a rebellion led by Li Zicheng (who established the Shun Dynasty, soon replaced by the Manchu-led Qing Dynasty), regimes loyal to the Ming throne—collectively called the Southern Ming—survived until 1662.
Ming rule saw the construction of a vast navy and a standing army of one million troops. Although private maritime trade and official tribute missions from China had taken place in previous dynasties, the tributary fleet under the Muslim eunuch admiral Zheng He in the 15th century far surpassed all others in size. There were enormous construction projects, including the restoration of the Grand Canal and the Great Wall and the establishment of the Forbidden City in Beijing during the first quarter of the 15th century. Estimates for the late-Ming population vary from 160 to 200 million.

Shek O
Shek O is a beachside village located on the south-eastern part of Hong Kong Island, in Hong Kong. Administratively, it is part of Southern District. The scenery of Shek O is the setting of numerous Cantopop music videos.
The name "Shek O" literally means the "rocky bay". The entire area is a peninsula on the southern coast of the Hong Kong Island, facing the South China Sea. Shek O is surrounded by Shek O Country Park, Big Wave Bay and Cape D'Aguilar.
Shek O Village (石澳村) has a history of some 200 years. It was established by fishermen of the Chan, Yip, Li and Lau clans. In 1841, Shek O Village, together with Hok Tsui Village (鶴咀村) and Big Wave Village (大浪灣村), had a population of around 200. The Tin Hau Temple in Shek O Village was built in 1891. Its management has been delegated by the Chinese Temples Committee to the Shek O Residents Association. It is a Grade III historic building.
Shek O Beach is a sandy public beach at Shek O. The water quality is fair and is gazetted Grade 2. It is a popular weekend and holiday destination, offering a public barbecue area and many restaurants. The rocky cliffs provide an excellent place for sports climbing.

Tsim Sha Tsui

Tsim Sha Tsui (/ˌtsɪm ˌʃɑː ˈtsuː.iː/ or /ˌtʃɪm ˌʃɑː ˈtʃuː.iː/), often abbreviated as TST, is an urban area in southern Kowloon, Hong Kong. The area is administratively part of the Yau Tsim Mong District. Tsim Sha Tsui East is a piece of land reclaimed from the Hung Hom Bay now east of Tsim Sha Tsui. The area is bounded north by Austin Road and in the east by Hong Chong Road and Cheong Wan Road.
Geographically, Tsim Sha Tsui is a cape on the tip of the Kowloon Peninsula pointing towards Victoria Harbour, opposite Central. Several villages had been established in this location before Kowloon was ceded to the British Empire in 1860. Tsim Sha Tsui in Chinese means pointed sandy mouth. It was also known as Heung Po Tau (香埗頭), i.e. a port for exporting incense tree.
Tsim Sha Tsui is a major tourist hub in metropolitan Hong Kong, with many shops and restaurants that cater to tourists. Many of the museums in the territory are located in the area.

Emperor Bing of Song
Emperor Bing of Song (Chinese: 宋帝昺) (1271 – March 19, 1279 CE) was the last emperor of the Southern Song Dynasty of China. He was also known as Lord Perpetual-Nation (永國公 yongguo gong).
Born Zhào Bǐng (趙昺) to Emperor Duzong of Song, he was the younger brother of his predecessor, Emperor Duanzong of Song. His mother was Consort Yu (俞修容), who held the rank of Xiurong. He became King Xin (信王) in 1274 CE then two years later received the titles of King Guang (廣王/广王) and King Wei (衛王/卫王). He was enthroned at Meiyu (梅蔚), Gangzhou (modern Silvermine Bay, Lantau Island, Hong Kong), on May 10, 1278 and his only era named Xiángxīng (祥興).
According to the History of Song (宋史) compiled under the Mongol Prime Minister Toktoghan, Emperor Bing is reported to have died at the Battle of Yamen on March 19, 1279. An official, Lu Xiufu who realized that all was lost, carried him and jumped into the sea in an act of defiance to the Mongol invaders near Mount Ya (厓山) at the mouth of the West River in Guangdong.

Emperor of China

During the Yuan and Qing dynasties China was ruled by ethnic Mongols and Manchus respectively after being conquered by them. The orthodox historical view over the years sees these as non-native dynasties that were sinicized over time, though some more recent scholars argue that the interaction between politics and ethnicity was far more complex. Nevertheless, in both cases these rulers had claimed the Mandate of Heaven to assume the role of traditional emperors in order to rule over China proper.

As he was the second son of Tolui and Sorghaghtani Beki, and a grandson of Genghis Khan, he claimed the title of Khagan of the Ikh Mongol Uls (Mongol Empire) in 1260 after the death of his older brother Möngke in the previous year, though his younger brother Ariq Böke was also given this title in the Mongolian capital, Karakorum. Kublai won the battle against Ariq Böke in 1264 and the succession war marked the beginning of disunity in the empire. Kublai's real power was limited to China and Mongolia (which was the Yuan Dynasty, or the Mongol Dynasty) after the victory over Ariq Böke, though his influence still remained in the Ilkhanate and, to a far lesser degree, in the Golden Horde in the western parts of the Mongol Empire. The great thing about buying them in Hong Kong is that you don't have to pay for shipping so it is a lot less! Here is West Main Toys in Pioneer Plaza located in Kowloon Peninsula in Hong Kong. You can see thousands of airplanes in the window. The store wasn't open yet. I was waiting. Later in my next video you will see the planes that I bought.

I spent 4 days traveling in Hong Kong. Stayed in a hostel in Tsim Sha Tsui, located in the southern tip of the Kowloon peninsula with easy access to everything from the metro, restaurants and sites. The world reknown Victoria Harbour view with the skyscrapers in the backdrop was just 5 minutes away. In this video I walked down the Avenue of the Stars, boarded the Star Ferry to cross over to Hong Kong Island, and headed back to Tsim Sha Tsui Kowloon to catch the world famous Symphony of Lights show from the skyscrapers of Hong Kong. It rained for the better part of the day when I got to Hong Kong Island to explore, so I was barely able to pull out my camera to video record.

It's one of the newer hotels so the rooms are a bit smaller and cramped. I would recommend it for a maximum of 2 travelers per room. The Bp is centrally located in Kowloon so it's close to restaurants, train and bus stations and attached to Kowloon Park.

The Kowloon Peninsula is a peninsula that forms the southern part of the main landmass in the territory of Hong Kong. The Kowloon Peninsula and the area of New Kowloon are collectively known as Kowloon.
Geographically, the term "Kowloon Peninsula" may also refer to the area south of the mountain ranges of Beacon Hill, Lion Rock, Tate's Cairn, Kowloon Peak, etc. The peninsula covers five of the eighteen districts of Hong Kong. Kowloon Bay is located at the northeast of the peninsula.

Geology and reclamation[link]
The main rock type of the peninsula consists of a medium grained biotite monzogranite with some fine granite outcrops, part of the Kowloon Granite [1].[1] Early maps and photographs show flat, low-lying land behind the beach of Tsim Sha Tsui Bay with a raised area, Kowloon Hill, in the west.[2]
The peninsula has been significantly expanded through land reclamation from the sea, over several phases. In the south and west most of the reclamation was carried out before 1904. Reclamation in several other small areas along the main Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront was completed by 1982. The West Kowloon Reclamation was formed as part of the Airport Core Programme and largely completed by 1995.[2]

Prior to the establishment of the actual Kowloon boundaries, the Kowloon Peninsula served as one of the first destination for escape during China's dynastic times. In 1287, the last emperor of the Song Dynasty, Emperor Bing was fleeing from the mongol leader Kublai Khan. Taking refuge in a cave in the Kowloon peninsula, the inscription wrote "Sung Wong Toi" or "Song Emperor's Pavilion".[3] In the 17th century, after the fall of the Ming Dynasty, many of the Emperor's followers also found shelter in the Kowloon peninsula to hide from the Manchus.[3]
Historically speaking, Kowloon Peninsula refers to the ceded territories of Kowloon in 1860 as part of the Convention of Peking, but geographically it covers the entire Kowloon south of the mountain ranges of Lion Rock, Kowloon Peak and other hills. Kowloon Peninsula had a population of 800 when it was ceded to the British empire in 1860.[4]
In 1898 a resolution was passed by the Colonial Hong Kong Legislative Council to preserve the land where some of the caves stood.[citation needed]

It is bordered by the Lei Yue Mun strait in the east, Mei Foo Sun Chuen and Stonecutter's Island in the west, the mountain range including Tate's Cairn and Lion Rock in the north, and Victoria Harbour in the south. It had a population of 2,019,533 and a population density of 43,033/km2 in 2006. Kowloon is located north of Hong Kong Island and south of the mainland part of the New Territories. The peninsula's area is approximately 47 km2 or 18.1 mi2. Together with Hong Kong Island, it contains 48 percent of Hong Kong's total population.
The systematic transcription Kau Lung or Kau-lung was often used in derived place names before World War II, for example Kau-lung Bay instead of Kowloon Bay. Other spellings include Kauloong, Kawloong[1]

The name Kowloon stems from the nine dragons, a term which refers to eight mountains and a Chinese emperor: Kowloon Peak, Tung Shan, Tate's Cairn, Temple Hill, Unicorn Ridge, Lion Rock, Beacon Hill, Crow's Nest and Emperor Bing (Song Dynasty).[2]
The part of Kowloon south of Boundary Street, together with Stonecutters Island, was ceded by Qing China to the United Kingdom under the Convention of Peking of 1860. For many years the area remained largely undeveloped, used by the British mainly for tiger-hunting expeditions.[citation needed]
The part of Kowloon north of Boundary Street (New Kowloon) was leased by the British as part of the New Territories in 1898 for 99 years. Within New Kowloon is Kowloon City, which refers to an area where the Kowloon Walled City used to be located. The Kowloon Walled City itself was demolished in 1993. The same area was called 官富場 (Pinyin: Guanfuchang) during the Song Dynasty.
Statutorily, "Kowloon" is used to refer to the area south of Boundary Street and the Stonecutters Island. "New Kowloon" has also remained part of the New Territories.
In modern day culture, however, New Kowloon is often not regarded as part of the New Territories, but as an integral part of the Kowloon urban area on both sides of Boundary Street. For tax purposes, New Kowloon is not considered part of Kowloon and is part of the New Territories, as is reflected in the statutes. Properties in New Kowloon are subject to payment of land leases, as in the New Territories.
Large-scale development of Kowloon began in the early 20th century, with the construction of the Kowloon-Canton Railway and the Kowloon Wharf, but due to Kowloon's close proximity to Kai Tak Airport, building construction was limited by flight paths. As a result, compared to Hong Kong Island, Kowloon has a much lower skyline.[2] After World War II, Kowloon became extremely congested when slums for refugees from the newly established People's Republic of China gave way to public housing estates, mixed with private residential, commercial and industrial areas.
West Kowloon was once home to a dockyard for the Royal Navy. The area has been reclaimed and is now the site of several developments.
