Frank Zappa- Jewish Princess
Lyrics: I want a nasty little Jewish Princess With long phony nails and a hairdo that rinses A horny little Jewish Princess With a garlic aroma that could level Tacoma Lonely inside Well, she can swallow my pride I need a hairy little Jewish Princess With a brand new nose, who knows where it goes I want a steamy little Jewish Princess With over-worked gums, who squeaks when she cums I don't want no troll I just want a Yemenite hole I want a darling little Jewish Princess Who don't know shit about cooking and is arrogant looking A vicious little Jewish Princess To specifically happen with a pee-pee that's snappin' All up inside I just want a Princess to ride Awright, back to the top...everybody twist I want a funky little Jewish Princess A grinder; a bumper, with a pre-moistened dumper A brazen little Jewish Princess With titanic tits, and sand-blasted zits She can even be poor So long as she does it with four on the floor (Vapor-lock) I want a dainty little Jewish Princess With a couple of sisters who can raise a few blisters A fragile little Jewish Princess With Roumanian thighs, who weasels 'n' lies For two or three nights Won't someone send me a Princess who bites Won't someone send me a Princess who bites Won't someone send me a Princess who bites Won't someone send me a Princess who bites

Dick Button and Bud Palmer - Post 1961 Nationals
Dick Button and Bud Palmer at the closing of the 1961 US National Championships, discussing how they went. This is really kind of heartbreaking when you take into account Dick's enthusiasm for the future, and the fact that not even a month later, the entire US Figure Skating World Team was killed when their plane crashed en route to the World Championships.

Championship Bowling (1968) pt 1 of 2
A 1968 episode of Championship Bowling. During this season of the syndicated series, the format had changed to a "best ball" doubles format. Similar to a golf scramble, both teammates were eligible to throw a first ball. If either man threw a strike, then the team scored a strike. (Which means if the first man threw a strike, it was not necessary for the second man to throw a ball in the frame.) If neither man struck, then the team would decide which player would attempt to convert his spare. A single game match, with the winning team pocketing $2000 and the losing team earning $1000. In this episode, the team of Don Glover and Ray Bluth meet the team of Fred Lening and Buzz Fazio. After the match, there was a short split-making competition for bonus money. This pre-recorded series originated from Firestone Bowl-A-Rama in Akron, OH during the 1968 season. Bud Palmer on play-by-play. Bill Bunetta on color.

Pro Bowlers Tour - Opening sequence 1968
The last of the opening sequences used on Pro Bowlers Tour before the computer-generated animations of the '70s. This one voiced by the great Bud Palmer. Looking back on the long run of Pro Bowlers Tour on ABC, Palmer only hosted the show a very small number of times. But he is the one "other" host of Pro Bowlers Tour that I put on the same level, as a broadcaster, as Chris Schenkel. Palmer was just terrific, and I'd have been perfectly fine if his and Schenkel's roles had been reversed. It's funny how broadcasters' career paths can take on journeys all their own. I would know. Mine has.

Pro Bowlers Tour - 1968 Cougar Open (Introduction)
Introduction sequence to ABC's Pro Bowlers Tour coverage of the PBA's 1968 Cougar Open. I always had a special affection for this tournament, as it was contested at a bowling center not far from where I lived growing up in Kansas City. In fact, my home house for many years was King Louie Ranch Mart Lanes, not far from King Louie West, where this tournament was contested. In another posting, you will see the opening match of this championship round, in which Buzz Fazio, just days away from turning 60, faced Bud Horn. Originally telecast February 3, 1968 from King Louie West Lanes in Overland Park, KS. Bud Palmer on play-by-play. Billy Welu on color.

First Live NASCAR Telecast 1971
The first known telecast of a NASCAR race was the 1960 Daytona 500, parts of which was presented as part of CBS Sports Spectacular, with announcer Bud Palmer. In the ensuing years, but before 1979, there were three main sources of NASCAR telecasts: ABC's Wide World of Sports, the famous sports anthology program, provided coverage of select NASCAR Winston Cup races in the 1970s. In 1971, it presented a 200-lap race at Greenville-Pickens Speedway in its entirety, the first such broadcast of a NASCAR race. Throughout the 1970s, ABC presented portions of the Daytona 500, Southern 500, and other important races. In the late 1970s, CBS Sports Spectacular aired some races; like Wide World of Sports, they were taped and edited. Car & Track, a weekly auto racing show hosted by Bud Lindemann, recapped all of NASCAR's top-series races in the 1960s and '70s in a weekly 30-minute syndicated show.

Pro Bowlers Tour - 1968 Cougar Open (Match 1)
Opening match of the championship round from the PBA's 1968 Cougar Open. #5 qualifier Bud Horn takes on #4 qualifier Buzz Fazio. Fazio would turn 60 just three days after this show. His appearance on this telecast made him the oldest player to qualify for the championship round in PBA Tour history to that point (a record later broken by 63-year-old Teata Semiz)*. (*Thanks, irishpogi, for that little factoid.) Unfortunately, this may be the only match from this broadcast that has survived. Originally telecast February 3, 1968 from King Louie West Lanes in Overland Park, KS. Bud Palmer on play-by-play. Billy Welu on color.
