Evenk dance, Kamchatka 2008
Dance took place in Kamchatka on one of my guided tours, August 2008. The group was interested in history of Vitus Bering and natives' traditions. en.wikipedia.org Kamchatka - the land of 300 volcanoes, where 29 are active. The peninsula is of New Zealand size with 500.000 inhabitants of all kinds of nationalities, 50.000 bears, many other animals and reach fauna. Shamanism is the main "religion, philosophy" of the natives: Evenks, Itelmen, Koryaki and Chukchas. In film you see the drum, which is made out of dear skin and it is the drum, that is used by the Shaman to get in touch with the spirits. I go to Kamchatka almost every year. Never get tired of it, never get enough of it. I love this land of fire, mountains, ocean, lakes, healing air, reach nature and never less kind people.

Buryat, Evenk minorities in Russian Eastern Siberis - RT 110422
rt.com The Zabaikalsk Region in Eastern Siberia resembles a motley patchwork. Located some 6000 kilometers from Moscow, it is home to a wide range of ethnic groups that live side by side, with their cultures intertwined. The Transbaikal region has a diverse topography, with wide open spaces contrasting forests and mountain ranges that encircle sand dunes. The faith and traditions of indigenous people also add a richness to Russia's East. And while many still hold on to old traditions and customs, they also try to embrace the Russian culture. Once a nomadic people, Buryat ancestors hailed from China and Mongolia. But the land where they settled became Russian in the 17th century. "Buryats and Russians have lived side by side from generation to generation in peace and accord. We borrow from them and they borrow from us. It's harmony," said Dorzhi Saidukov, a shepherd. Harmony in the region is influenced by Buddhism, a religion which has also been instrumental in connecting Buryats to values and teachings that are centuries old. "Buddhism and the Buryats are closely intertwined, because there was no temporal education and the entire education was centered on the monastery. People received their first education here. I mean they learned to read, write and heal," said Aldar Lama, a Bugghist monk. Buryats make up the largest majority group in Russia's Transbaikal region at 66000, keeping the cultural conservation network strong. The Evenk people are also indigenous to the ...

Alexandra Lavrillier - School for nomads
In south-eastern Siberia, a nomadic people are trying to preserve their way of life against the march of modern society. The traditional culture of the Evenk, who excel at reindeer herding, hunting and fishing, has been eroded through contact with Western civilisation. "The idea is to enable Evenk children to stay with their parents, instead of wrenching them from their families at the age of six and sending them to boarding school. For eight years Alexandra Lavrillier, a brilliant French ethnologist, has been fighting alongside them to save their heritage, setting up a nomadic school that will give Evenk children the chance to receive a modern education without having to sacrifice their ancestral traditions.

Korean's Y-Chromosome (2009) Revealed Of Korean's South East Asian Origin(83%)
Note:for those who says this research is fake, please go download the PDF file( a research conducted by two Korean and one British researchers from Cambridge University,Dankook University and others) and read it yourself(PS: please do not pick the selective information that you ONLY want to read ,but scan over all the papers, and get yourself a genuine answer. the conclusion is already there,Korean are indeed of south origin) the main and most important proof of your origin is based on your Y-Dna, before anything, please explain your 83% south Y-DNA first,no matter what location or whatever is not very important its not related to your ethnicity it only comes 10th or 20th.Y-DNA tells the pattern of your immigration and your origin.Ainu are the aboriginals of NORTHEMOST PART OF JAPAN are they north east asian then? of course not! please be logical and rational it clearly says Korean Y-Chromosome is 83% South Origin and only 17% Northen(foreign) as i have already explained, when you trace origin its determined on your Y-DNA,so how can you be Northen origin when your Y DNA is 83% south origin? can you point out which of your haplogroup is related to Mongols? your O2b? opps sorry mongols dont have it, N3? opps you dont have it eitther, how about C3c? oh no you dont have it either! please learn the basic concept of Y-Chromosome and MTDNA before you attempt to join such a professional topic yes, there some additional information not from this research. such as the comparison of the ...

Sergey Karpukhin's Photography - Suntar-Khayata - Russia
www.YaharaWay.com Suntar-Khayata It looks like just enumeration of some geographical objects, doesn't it? But it is a route of a difficult photo expedition. The Suntar mountain range, stretched out in the areas of the south-east part of Yakutia and the north-west part of the Khabarovsk Territory, first caught my attention few years ago. When you look at the map, you can notice that the Suntar-Khayata stands out among surrounding mountains for its height and iced tops. Besides, it is situated near Kolymskaya road, which makes it possible to visit this area. But the final decision to visit this region I took after watching some photos on Internet, when I was impressed by coloured mountains. This wasn't an expedition on my own, I was accompanied by a friend, Viktor Proskurko from Vladikavkaz. The trip began from shuttling the weight of 180 kilograms upwards the Suntar valley. It lasted for one month, because we had to carry it over 120 kilometres. Nevertheless, the main objective was not power lifting, but creativity - taking pictures, that's why we had lots of stops. Thus we climbed to the Suntar's origines, and then crossed over to the Khabarovsk Territory, where the river Udoma begins. In this part the river is called Nitkan. It turned out to be the most beautiful part of our route. Then, we reached places where water was sufficiently high for river rafting, there we built up the catamaran and sailed down the river 600 kilometres to the first settlement, which is named ...
