'Mars One' - Human settlement of Mars in 2023 (educational video) Mars One will establish the first human settlement on Mars in 2023. A habitable settlement will be waiting for the settlers when they land. The settlement will support them while they live and work on Mars the rest of their lives. Every two years after 2023 an additional crew will arrive, such that there is a real living, growing community on Mars. Mars One has created a technical plan for this mission that is as simple as possible. For every component of the mission we have identified at least one potential supplier. Mars One invites you to join us in this next giant leap for mankind! GREEN CONTAINER INTERNATIONAL AID, MANIFESTO.wmv
FEB 12, 2010 MANIFESTO FOR A MASSIVE SHIPPING CONTAINERS DONATION FROM AROUND THE WORLD TO HAITI TO PROVIDE EMERGENCY SHELTER By: Arch. Richard Moreta Castillo HAITI IS IN DIRECT NEED OF A CLEAR PLAN FOR IMMEDIATE RELIEF AND LONG-TERM PLANNING. The recent catastrophe provides the opportunity to offer desperately-needed solutions to develop master-planning, as opposed to providing sporadic aid. In the cities affected by the January 12th earthquake, everything needs to be demolished and rebuilt to comply with international safety standards. If Haiti does not receive this help, it risks becoming an entirely failed state. Haitians need a complete rebuilding of their entire infrastructure, they need a security framework, and they need financial and business structures to be developed in a collaborative way with them so that they are able to regain their basic rights as human beings. The most serious immediate concern is two-fold: to proactively plan for heavy risks of flooding once the rainy season starts, while also anticipating upcoming hurricanes. The larger issue in reconstruction efforts is also to analyze the type of construction method most appropriate to disaster relief, speediness of operation as well as seismic code compliance to minimize future risks. Green Container International Aid (GCIA) designed a series of viable and cost-effective solutions, in close consultation with the local population. We request that the international community and governments mobilize ...

Sick Water?
Reas the full report free at : www.grida.no With global action and positive momentum towards improving access to safe water and sanitation, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the UN Human Settlements Programme (UN-HABITAT), and the UN Secretary Generals Advisory Board on Water and Sanitation (UNSGAB), in partnership with the members of UN Water have collaborated to bring together their collective experience and expertise to bear on the challenges posed by illegal and unregulated wastewater. Sick water? The central role of wastewater management in sustainable development not only identifies the threats to human and ecological health and the consequences of inaction, but also presents opportunities, where appropriate policy and management responses over the short and longer term can trigger employment, support livelihoods, boost public and ecosystem health and contribute to more intelligent water management.

JUBAIL City ERPz capade: Jubail Center, Jubail Corniche, Sharq Hotel (Nov 26, 2011)
History of Jubail... The town of Al-Jubail on the Persian Gulf coast of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has ancient roots. Human habitation dates back at least 7000 years when the people of Dilmun - whose civilization radiated up and down the Persian Gulf - established a settlement there. The first human settler might have been encouraged to stay by the site's fine natural harbour and the abundance of fish and pearl oysters just offshore. More importantly, the presence of potable water wells near the town ensured the continued viability of human settlement. In September 1933, Jubail gained a measure of fame as the landing site for the first team of geologists to explore for oil in Saudi Arabia. Bechtel began work on the Jubail Industrial City project more than 30 years ago and is still working in Jubail now. It also stands as one of the greatest achievements of Bechtel, its employees, and families who worked and lived there. Bechtel has managed the Jubail project since it began in the mid-1970s, and in 2004, the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu asked the company to manage Jubail II, a $3.8 billion expansion of the city's industrial and residential areas. Jubail is a complete city, with all the industry, infrastructure, housing, shopping, educational and medical facilities required to support its present population of around 150000 people. Saudi Arabian Bechtel Company (SABCO) performs ongoing engineering, procurement and construction management. Jubail II will add a ...

Andromeda International Documentary - Makedonia 2/5
Year(production) 1984 Prehistory Macedonia lies at the crossroads of human development between the Aegean and the Balkans. The earliest signs of human habitation date back to the palaeolithic period. At different periods strong links can be seen in different directions.[5] With the introduction of farming at the beginning of the Neolithic period c. 7000 BC, human settlement rapidly spread through the region from the mountains of the Pindus to the coastal strip along the northern Aegean shore. Nea Nikomedeia is one of the earliest known settlements.[6] In the Late Neolithic period (c. 4500 to 3500 BC), rapid changes in pottery styles and the discovery of fragments of pottery showing trade with quite distant regions, indicate that society, economy and technology were all changing rapidly. Amongst the most important of these changes were the start of copper working, convincingly demonstrated by Renfrew to have been learnt from the cultural groups of Bulgaria and Roumania to the North.[7] Principal excavated settlements of this period include Makryialos and Paliambela near the western shore of the Thermaic gulf, Thermi to the south of Thessaloniki and Sitagroi and Dikili Tas in the Drama plain.[8] Remarkable evidence for cult activity has been found at PromachonasTopolnica, which straddles the Greek Bulgarian border to the north of Serres. Ancient History The history of Macedonia streches from ancient to modern Greece. According to Herodotus, the Greek history of Macedonia ...

Life in Pakistani Village
The life of a village is absolutely marvelous in pakistan. I really like it, here is some information about villages A village is a clustered human settlement or community, larger than a hamlet, but smaller than a town or city[1]. Though generally located in rural areas, the term urban village may be applied to certain urban neighbourhoods, such as the West Village in Manhattan, New York City and the Saifi Village in Beirut, Lebanon. Villages are normally permanent, with fixed dwellings; however, transient villages[2] can occur. Further, the dwellings of a village are fairly close to one another, not scattered broadly over the landscape (dispersed settlement). Villages have been the usual form of community for societies that practice subsistence agriculture, and even for some non-agricultural societies. Towns and cities were few, and were home to only a small proportion of the population. The Industrial Revolution caused many villages to grow into towns and cities; this trend of urbanisation has continued, though not always in connection with industrialisation. Villages have thus been eclipsed in importance as units of human society and settlement.

CITY TOURS in ISTANBUL
The first human settlement in Istanbul, the Fikirtepe mound on the Anatolian side, is from the Copper Age period, with artifacts dating from 55003500 BC.[10] A port settlement dating back to the Phoenicians has been discovered in nearby Kadıköy (Chalcedon). Cape Moda in Chalcedon was the first location which the Greek settlers of Megara chose to colonize in 685 BC, prior to colonizing Byzantion on the European side of the Bosphorus under the command of King Byzas in 667 BC. Byzantion was established on the site of an ancient port settlement named Lygos, founded by Thracian tribes between the 13th and 11th centuries BC, along with the neighbouring Semistra,[11] of which Plinius had mentioned in his historical accounts. Only a few walls and substructures belonging to Lygos have survived to date, near the Seraglio Point (Turkish: Sarayburnu), where the famous Topkapı Palace now stands. During the period of Byzantion, the Acropolis used to stand where the Topkapı Palace stands today.

Matera italy
Matera is a town and a province in the region of Basilicata, in southern Italy. It is the capital of the province of Matera. Apart from an economy which has traditionally been based on agriculture, in the late 1990s the major economic base of Matera, and of surrounding cities, is the production of upholstered furniture. The town lies athwart a small canyon, which has been eroded in the course of years by a small stream, the Gravina. Matera has gained international fame for its ancient town, the "Sassi di Matera" (meaning "stones of Matera"). The Sassi originate from a prehistoric (troglodyte) settlement, and are suspected to be some of the first human settlements in Italy. The Sassi are houses dug into the tuff rock itself, which is characteristic of Basilicata and Apulia. Many of these "houses" are really only caverns, and the streets in some parts of the Sassi often are located on the rooftops of other houses. The ancient town grew in height on one slope of the ravine created by a river that is now a small stream. The ravine is known locally as "la Gravina". In the 1950s, the government of Italy forcefully relocated most of the population of the Sassi to areas of the developing modern city. However, people continued to live in the Sassi, and according to the English Fodor's guide: Matera is the only place in the world where people can boast to be still living in the same houses of their ancestors of 9000 years ago. Until the late 1980s this was considered an area of ...

Lore For Noobs - The Horde (Part 2)
Medivh, who was currently under the control of Sargeras, contacted Gul'dan instructing him to build a gateway between Azeroth and Draenor. Along with that, Medivh offered him the power of the Eye of Sargeras, a magical artifact rumored to give its wielder the power of a god. Gul'dan eagerly agreed with the deal and began constructing on what we call The Dark Portal Gul'dan used his puppet Blackhand to rally the orc forces and prepare their assault on Azeroth. Eventually, the portal was complete and the orcs began their invasion. They arrived in an area of the swamp of sorrows which would later be known as the blasted lands where the set up the first Orcish settlement on Azeroth. You know it today as Stonard. The orcs began to launch small raids on human settlements, slowly progressing in aggression until they were leading full scale assaults. From there they began taking over town after town quickly making their way to Stormwind City where they initiated the first major battle led by the Twilights Hammer Clan. This first assault failed completely, but they didn't give up so easily. The orcs pulled an ace from their sleeve. Garona Halforcen while under Gul'dans' spell was forced to murder King Llane, her closest friend. With Llane dead, the armies of Stormwind soon fell and the kingdom with it. Every human who didn't board the ships sailing to Southshore was gruesomly murdered.

Canon 5D MK2 24fps Test - Images of Monkey Mia
Hours before I left for my annual family holiday to Monkey Mia, Shark Bay, I uploaded the new firmware update for one of my 5D's.
I was keen to see if shooting in 24 fps was going to make a difference to the old 30 fps.
This is some of the footage I took in between fishing, swimming, relaxing and enjoying the odd beverage at the end of a hard day. OK the bevies started around lunch time but when your on holidays who's keeping track off time.
Has the 24fps frame rate improved the look of the footage? I cant say for sure so I will leave it up to you. It looks like all the rest of my stuff, maybe a little smoother?????
For anyone who's interested, Monkey Mia is a small settlement in the World Heritage Area of Shark Bay, approximately 900km's north of Perth, Western Australia. It is where the dolphins come to interact with us humans looking for an easy feed.
Luckily CALM has controlled the interaction between us humans and them so they remain wild animals and dont become dependent on us.
It's an amazing part of the world with turtles, dugongs, dolphins and of course Sharks, and plenty of them, grazing on the extensive sea grasses of a very shallow bay system.
The land is very arid and is punctuated with red sand headlands which meet the white sand of the pristine beach. It is a special place for me and one I visit with my family every year without fail.
Hope you enjoy my favorite place in Western Australia.
All shot on the 5D, Edited in FCP, Music Soundtrack Pro and James Newton Howard from the " Village"

A Photographic Journey
After more than half a Year of Work, the finale Edition of my Timelapse Shortmovie is finished. I don't even know how many hours of work I put into this, but not few, thats clear.
All the Scenes were Shot in Graubünden, Switzerland, from Juny till November 2011. The Shooting Locations are mostly several Hours away from the next human Settlements. So walking long distances with a Lot of Gear was required.
Im Honored and thankful, to be able to use the wonderfull Song "And it Begins" from Veigar Margeirsson, one of the most sought-after composers in the world of film, television and advertising.
Veigar Margeirsson was behind Soundtracks that were used for Films like:
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, Inception, Iron Man, No Country for Old Men, United 93, Atonement, Beowulf and Many more!
Make sure to turn the Volume and Bass way up!
Visit his Website for more information: www.veigar.com
The Workflow in this Project looked somewhat like this:
- Shoot with a Pentax K7 and some neutral-density-filters
- RAW-Development in Lightroom
- Prerendering in After Effects (Movements, Color-Correction)
- Cut and finale Color-Correction in Premiere Pro
So now, this is the End. And I'm happy that this Project finally has come to an End!

Anonymous: Still Alive II
It's Not Over Yet
For two years, Anonymous has fought against the human rights abuses and general douchebaggery of the Church of Scientology and its leaders online and on the streets. In cities around the world, flyering, monthly demonstrations, and flash raids are still going on even after all this time.
Our efforts have not gone unnoticed. Ex-scientologists are now free to speak out, and have brought their stories to governments around the world. Investigations, law suits, and convictions hound our foes wherever they go. Tommy Davis can't even finish an interview any more.
It has not been without hardship on our part. Anons have been physically attacked, arrested, and generally abused. Despite the lies, exaggerations, and vast sums of money pumped into Scientology's legal machine, Anons around the world in all but one case have come to reasonable settlements or simply had all charges against them dropped.
and the counter-suits are coming...

NASA | New Model Predicts Fire Season Severity in the Amazon
By analyzing nearly a decade of satellite data, a team of scientists led by researchers from the University of California, Irvine and funded by NASA has created a model that can successfully predict the severity and geographic distribution of fires in the Amazon rain forest and the rest of South America months in advance. Though previous research has shown that human settlement patterns are the primary factor that drives the distribution of fires in the Amazon, the new research demonstrates that environmental factors--specifically small variations in ocean temperatures--amplify human impacts and underpin much of the variability in the number of fires the region experiences from one year to the next. In the video UC Irvine scientist Jim Randerson provides an overview of the findings, which appear this week in the journal Science. Alberobello - Italy - Unesco World Heritage Site
Alberobello is a small town and comune in the province of Bari, in Puglia, Italy. It has about 11000 inhabitants and is famous for its unique trulli constructions. The Trulli of Alberobello are part of the UNESCO World Heritage sites list since 1996.In some degrees of the fourteenth century the site of Alberobello is reported by the term "Silva Arboris Belli," referring to an area rich with lush vegetation, but no permanent settlements inhabited. One of the first human settlement activities began only in the early sixteenth century at the instigation of the count of Conversano III Andrea Matteo Acquaviva d'Aragona, son of the famous Count Giulio Antonio Acquaviva, who died in 1481 at Otranto in the war against the Turks. Count Andrea Matteo introduced by the estate of nuts about forty families of farmers to reclaim and cultivate the land, with the obligation to hand over a tenth of the harvest. Its successor, the powerful Count II Giangirolamo said Guercio of Apulia (1600-1665), who had erected a hunting lodge and an inn on the spot, began the real urban jungle with the construction of a cluster of houses. The abundance of calcareous sediment and authorization of the count only to build houses with dry stone walls without using mortar, which are the trulli, contributed to the expansion of the urban sprawl. This requirement to build homes only with dry-stone of the Count was an expedient to avoid paying taxes to the Spanish Viceroy of the Kingdom of Naples under the ...
