Perspectives December 2012: The Year Ahead 2013
Before the year 2012 came to an end, our panel of thought leaders discussed how they felt about the year ahead 2013. How would Obama's engagement in Asia be like in 2013? What will 2013 hold for China under the Xi Jinping's leadership? As economic woes persist in the US and the Eurozone, the world is looking to Southeast as a bright spot for global growth in 2013. But will Southeast Asia's "Tiger Cub" economies rise to the occasion?- published: 03 Mar 2014

Cute! Endangered tiger cub set for debut at China zoo
Subscribe to ITN News! http://bit.ly/1bmWO8h A little endangered tiger cub born only last month is gearing up for her debut in a couple of weeks. The cub was born on the 24th March at a zoo in China, and has been fed by zoo staff because her mother is not capable of nursing. She was just 920 grams when she was born but is said to be growing up very quickly. Zoo staff have been feeding the little one with dog's milk and say she will start to eat meat in about ten days. Synopsis: In 2011, the Asia Business Council -- together with Time magazine and the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy -- ran an essay competition among 18-30 year olds across Asia, asking them what they saw as Asia's biggest challenges over the coming decades -- and what were their proposed solutions. The results were published in a book, Through the Eyes of Tiger Cubs: Views of Asia's Next Generation, offering a unique glimpse into the younger generation's view of Asia's future. It drew on the perspectives of more than 80 visionary young Asians, who identified the key issues and who saw innovative solutions for areas as diverse as education and labor markets, demographics and healthcare, energy and the environment, and governance and geopolitics. Today's panel will be moderated by the book's co-author, Janet Pau. Speaking on the panel will be participants of the Israel-Asia Leaders Fellowship and the NUS Enterprise program in Israel from Korea, India and Singapore -- all of whom are active in promoting Israel-Asia relations. The next generation has a high stake in ensuring Asia's long-term growth. Through this panel, the audience will gain a unique perspective on how the leaders of tomorrow see the challenges facing the continent and what innovative solutions they propose to solving them.
