Redbourn
Coordinates: 51°48′01″N 0°23′47″W / 51.8002°N 0.3965°W / 51.8002; -0.3965
Redbourn is a village and civil parish in Hertfordshire, England, lying on Watling Street, three miles from Harpenden, four miles from St Albans and five miles from Hemel Hempstead. It has a population of around 6,000 and is within the City of St Albans local government district.
History
The village has been settled at least since Saxon times and it is recorded in the Domesday Book. Its parish church, St Mary's, was built in the early 12th century. Around fifty years later a small priory was founded half a mile away on Redbourn Common, after the abbot of St Albans Abbey decided to hallow the ground. Some bones had been found on the spot, reputed to be of Saint Amphibalus the priest who converted St Alban to Christianity.
To the southwest of the village just beyond the motorway is the site of an Iron Age hill fort called the Aubreys. To the north of the village is the site of a complex of Roman temples.
In the 16th century the manor of Redbourn belonged to the Reade family: Sir Richard Reade, formerly Lord Chancellor of Ireland, on his death in 1575, left a bequest for the upkeep of the parish.

Neighbourhood Watch in Redbourn, Hertfordshire
The ITV show "This Morning" visited Redbourn village to showcase their effective and well-run Neighbourhood Watch. All villages and towns across Hertfordshire use OWL (www.owl.co.uk) to underpin the administration of their watches and to allow coordinators and local police to engage with members. In Herts 25% of all homes are registered on OWL as directly contactable members of Neighbourhood Watch.

Hey guys, if you're subscribed to my channel you're probably a little confused as I haven't uploaded a video in months and this has absolutely nothing to do with fashion (sorry about that)! The ITV show "This Morning" visited Redbourn village to showcase their effective and well-run Neighbourhood Watch. All villages and towns across Hertfordshire use OWL (www.owl.co.uk) to underpin the administration of their watches and to allow coordinators and local police to engage with members. In Herts 25% of all homes are registered on OWL as directly contactable members of Neighbourhood Watch.

We were asked to film this event. These demos are short extracts of stills and videos from the Redbourn900 Finale event held on 12 September 2010. By popular demand, two DVDs are available of the event; one featuring clips from the whole day, and the other the fabulous Redbourn's Got Talent Final. Also available are packs of high-resolution stills of the pictures used in the DVDs, plus many more, including a CD of the images. The CD is also available separately. Hey guys, if you're subscribed to my channel you're probably a little confused as I haven't uploaded a video in months and this has absolutely nothing to do with fashion (sorry about that)!
At some point I will be posting a video explaining a little bit more about what's been going on but until then if you could please take a moment to click the link and the sign the petiton below I'd really appreciate it.
I'm trying to get speed cameras and street lights installed on the road where my mum was killed. I just want to prevent another family from having to go through this.

Redbourn

Redbourn is a village and civil parish in Hertfordshire, England, lying on Watling Street, three miles from Harpenden, four miles from St Albans and five miles from Hemel Hempstead. It has a population of around 6,000 and is within the City of St Albans local government district.
History
The village has been settled at least since Saxon times and it is recorded in the Domesday Book. Its parish church, St Mary's, was built in the early 12th century. Around fifty years later a small priory was founded half a mile away on Redbourn Common, after the abbot of St Albans Abbey decided to hallow the ground. Some bones had been found on the spot, reputed to be of Saint Amphibalus the priest who converted St Alban to Christianity.
To the southwest of the village just beyond the motorway is the site of an Iron Age hill fort called the Aubreys. To the north of the village is the site of a complex of Roman temples.
In the 16th century the manor of Redbourn belonged to the Reade family: Sir Richard Reade, formerly Lord Chancellor of Ireland, on his death in 1575, left a bequest for the upkeep of the parish.
