Soundtrack (Charles Lloyd album)

Soundtrack is a live album by jazz saxophonist Charles Lloyd recorded at The Town Hall in 1968 by the Charles Lloyd Quartet featuring Keith Jarrett, Ron McClure, and Jack DeJohnette.

Reception

The Allmusic review by Thom Jurek awarded the album 4 stars and states "Soundtrack, stomps with all the fury of a live gospel choir trying to claim Saturday night for God instead of the other guy... The band is in a heavy Latin mood, where the blues, samba, bossa, hard bop, modal, and even soul are drenched in the blues. With only four tunes presented, the Charles Lloyd Quartet, while a tad more dissonant than it had been in 1966 and 1967, swings much harder, rougher, and get-to-the-groove quicker than any band Lloyd had previously led... This band would split soon after, when Jarrett left to play with Miles Davis, but if this was a live swansong, they couldn't have picked a better gig to issue".

24: The Soundtrack

24: The Soundtrack, released on December 7, 2004 in the USA, is based on the Fox television drama series 24, contains nineteen tracks of music composed exclusively for the first three seasons by producer Sean Callery, including the show's full theme song which has never been aired. The music contained in the soundtrack is somewhat of a hybrid mix of electronic pulses and rich orchestral textures that is meant to give each episode its own sound, yet at the same time have a sound that is consistent with the rest of the series in a way that compliments the show's "real-time" format. The insert of the album contains various photographs from the three seasons and also includes Callery's comments about how he went about producing each track. The liner notes also list which specific episode each track comes from. The album was released by Varèse Sarabande in the USA, Virgin TV in the UK, and EMI in Japan.

This album has been released with the Copy Control protection system in some regions.

Stella (yacht)

The Stella is a 'one-design' Bermuda rig sloop yacht, designed for cruising and racing by the noted yacht designer CR (Kim) Holman in 1959. The design was to the requirements of a customer who had seen the Nordic Folkboat and decided that the English east coast needed a similar vessel but modified for North Sea as opposed to Baltic conditions and a competitive racer on handicap. The prototype: Stella No. 1 La Vie en Rose was built to win the 1959 Burnham (on Crouch) week, which she promptly did. Clinker built of mahogany or larch on oak frames.

The restoration of Amulet, a Stella class yacht originally built in Fort William in 1964, is described by Bob Orrell in the book Amulet: A Charm Restored and Sailed to the Western Isles.

Fleets exist in the UK (estimated 100 built) and Australia (approximately 20 built).

Stella (1955 film)

Stella (Greek: Στέλλα) is a 1955 Greek film is a retelling of Carmen featuring Melina Mercouri. The film was directed by the Greek Cypriot Michael Cacoyannis and written by Cacoyannis and Iakovos Kambanelis. The music was composed by Manos Hadjidakis and Vassilis Tsitsanis.

Stella was originally intended to be a stage play with the title Stella with the Red Gloves, but it was never staged. It has been claimed that this story was the perfect vehicle for the thirty-five-year-old Mercouri's film debut. Indeed, it was the hit that Melina Mercouri needed. The film sparked great controversy, and although it was initially rejected by Greek critics, it is now considered one of the five greatest Greek films.

At the 1955 Cannes Film Festival, where the film was screened, Melina met Jules Dassin, her future husband, mentor, and director. He helped her to secure major roles in such films as Topkapi, Never on Sunday, Phaedra, and 10:30 P.M. Summer, which have become major international successes.

Stella (UK TV series)

Stella is a British comedy-drama created and written by David Peet and Ruth Jones who plays the lead role of Stella. Stella is one of the flagship television comedy series that has been commissioned and aired on Sky1. The series is largely filmed in Ferndale in the Rhondda Valley in Wales. Just as the show reached halfway through the first series, it was confirmed that a second series was commissioned and premiered on 11 January 2013. Just before the second series even aired, Sky recommissioned the show for a third series and premiered on 24 January 2014 with a Christmas Special to follow on 22 December 2014. As the show reached halfway through the third series, it was confirmed that a fourth series was commissioned and premiered on 6 February 2015. After the fourth series concluded, it was confirmed that a fifth series was commissioned and premiered on 12 January 2016. Various celebrities make guest appearances as themselves in some episodes.

Background

The series is set in the fictional village of Pontyberry in the South Wales Valleys. Stella is a 40-something single mum who earns a living doing the locals' ironing. Most of the time, she's relatively happy with life as she juggles the ups and downs of her family, amid the chaos of her eccentric friends, relatives and children's fathers. Her brood consists of eldest son Luke, who starts the series in prison as a consequence of stealing five cars and a lorry; 16-year-old Emma who's smitten with her first love Sunil; and 12-year-old Ben.

Groove (Billy Crawford album)

Groove is the fifth studio album from Philippine Pop and R&B singer Billy Crawford. The album was released on iTunes on May 1st, 2009. It was also made available in physical form in 2009. The new album is a re-working of classic hits from the 1970s to the 1980s.

Microsoft SharePoint Workspace

Microsoft SharePoint Workspace, previously known as Microsoft Office Groove, is a discontinued desktop application designed for document collaboration in teams with members who are regularly off-line or who do not share the same network security clearance. It is no longer included with Microsoft Office 2013 or Office 365, the latter of which includes Microsoft's OneDrive for Business instead. The latter does not fully replace the former.

Groove's uses have included coordination between emergency relief agencies where different organizations do not share a common security infrastructure and where offline access is important, and amongst teams of knowledge workers, such as consultants who need to work securely on client sites. It is also used as a staging system for documents in development, where content can be developed then transferred to a portal when complete.

Groove was initially developed by Lotus Notes creator Ray Ozzie, and developed by Groove Networks of Beverly, Massachusetts, until Microsoft's acquisition of Groove Networks in March 2005.
