"21 Jump st" TV Intro
21 Jump Street is an hour-long police drama television series that aired on the FOX Network from April 12, 1987 to April 27, 1991, with a total of 103 episodes. The crime drama focused on a squad of youthful-looking undercover police officers investigating crimes in high schools and other teenage venues. Created by Patrick Hasburgh and Stephen J. Cannell, the series was produced by the studio Stephen J. Cannell Productions in association with 20th Century Fox Television. The show was an early hit for the fledgling FOX Network, and was created to attract a younger audience. The final season aired in first-run syndication mainly on local FOX affiliates. It was later completed in rerun syndication on the FX cable network (a sister company to FOX) from 1996 to 1998. The series provided a spark to Johnny Depp's nascent acting career, garnering him national recognition as a teen idol. Depp found this status an irritant, but he continued on the series under his contract, from which he was released after the fourth season. A spin-off series, Booker, was produced for the character of Dennis Booker (Richard Grieco); it ran one season, from September 1989 to June 1990.

Hey there I'm Chelsea Cannell here with an exciting update on 21 Jump Street that involves Johnny Depp! Depp starred in the hit fox TV series from the 80's created by the Late Stephen J. Cannell and Patrick Hasburgh and has now decided to make a return to the Street that got him started! The cameo has been in qustion ever since talk of the movie started to heat up, but apparently Comingsoon.net www.comingsoon.net has confirmed that the Pirates Star will in fact pay a visit. The movie is being produced by Johnah Hill and who will also star alongside Channing Tatum, Ice Cube, and Brie larson in the flick that is slated for a march 16th 2012 release. "Over 20 years ago, a team of youthful looking cops were given the task of protecting kids in schools. They were known as the Jump Street Unit... Now, a new team has been assembled to fight new threats with advanced robotics and technology. They are known only as..." 21 Jump Street Rangers!!! A full scale production mounted by Obscure Reference Productions, adapting Takara Tomy's "Tomica Hero Rescue Force" and somehow (it sort of makes sense) continuing the story of 21 Jump Street years later. All of that, wrapped together in nice chessey, "totally unnecessary transformation scene" style package. This is just a one off adaption, I highly doubt I'll turn it into a series although you never know. (UPDATE: I turned it into a series.) I really just wanted to make a send up to the Toku programs I love so much, as well as obscure television and just have a chance to make something that I could pour my heart and soul into. So when Ronnie and them got out, they was koshed up with hammers choppers and everything you could think of and they smashed the door right in. Just walked in and says who wants trouble now, we're the Kray twins. Who wants it?
BUT PRIOR TO MEETING THE KRAYS, RONNIE HAD RECRUITED HIS YOUNGER BROTHER AS HIS PARTNER IN CRIME.
John Knight:
My first crime I ever did was when my brother Ron come to me and asked me to get in a small fan light over a top of a door and take the cash drawer till out and pass it out of the fanlight.
Ronnie Knight:
I was too big for that so I thought the only person who could do that was my Johnnie 'cos he was a lot younger'n me and lot smaller'n me. He come out with a prize.

I took to crime because I used to see the old villains very smart looking, dressed, and everyone was ducking and diving about, there was loads of rascals, so perhaps I'd join the band robbers.

LA Metro: Promoting Mass Transit
Los Angeles' Metro is doing something that no transit agency in the country has ever done: it's marketing its products and services as if it were a private company bent on turning a profit. But for Metro marketing isn't about increasing the bottom line. It's about reducing traffic, cleaning the air and making people's commutes in this auto-clogged city a bit less stressful.
Matt Raymond, the Chief Communications Officer for Metro, is the brainchild behind Metro's marketing push. During a trip out to Los Angeles I had the chance to talk with Mr. Raymond. "The key to putting together the group," Mr Raymond said, referring to the in-house ad agency known as Creative Services, "was that we wanted to make public transportation cool."
Making buses appear as an attractive alternative to cars is an ambitious goal for any transit agency, but it's especially ambitious in a place like Los Angeles where image and the automobile are everything. Yet, traveling around LA it's hard not to feel the presence of Metro. It's fleet of colorful buses are ubiquitous on every major city street. And unlike standard city buses, these buses aren't dreary and dull. They boast vibrant colors like California poppy from a color palette inspired by the city. Metro also has a number of playful ads on billboards encouraging Angelinos to leave their cars at home and take the bus, rail or carpool.
These ads and the re-brand of Metro seem to be paying off. Earlier this year the Creative Services division of Metro was instrumental in the success of Measure R, a 1/2 cent sales tax that is expected to generate 40 billion dollars over the next 30 years for improving transit services in LA. To get the 2/3 vote required, Metro convinced the vast majority of Angelinos, most of whom commute by private car, that they should pay for transit out of their own pockets.
The most impressive outcome of Metro's marketing is that it has convinced people to start using its services. Following Metro's re-brand, discretionary riders, those people who have the choice to commute by car or transit, have jumped from 24 to 36 percent. That is, Metro's new clean and modern image is actually getting people into transit and helping address this city's notorious traffic problem.
For people involved in advertising and marketing this really shouldn't come as a surprise. The reason why the pharmaceutical industry, for example, spends over 33% of its revenue on marketing is because it works. Otherwise, why would they do it? It's true for every other industry as well, including the automobile industry which spends roughly $21 billion to convince you and me that we cant live without cars. So why aren't more transit agencies following LA's lead and investing in marketing?
The common perception is that money spent on marketing would be better spent on the transit systems themselves. The problem with this line of thinking is that it is short sighted. Over time, a sustained investment in marketing increases the number of people who use transit. Increased ridership leads to increased revenue and, ideally, an increase in service to match the new demand. That's what's happening in LA right with Measure R. It's also what Clayton Lane, a transport expert for EMBARQ, calls "the virtuous cycle."
There's no doubt that LA still has a long way to go to solve its traffic problems. The first day I arrived here was a Wednesday and at 10:30 PM I got snared in a traffic jam on the 101. As a friend who lives here told me, "Traffic just sort of pops up out of nowhere." Fortunately, Metro is set on increasing transit ridership by doing a number of big projects like the orange line expansion, the now complete gold line expansion, and perhaps even the ambitious "subway to the sea." And unlike other cities, LA will likely see a greater than normal increase in ridership thanks to its great marketing.

1. In Jin Nim greeted everyone. (The applause was especially enthusiastic – with all the middle school camp kids in the audience). She just got back from Las Vegas at two o'clock this morning. True Parents (True Parents) send us their greetings!

2. In Jin Nim reported to True Parents about the WFWP 19th annual conference -- they were delighted to hear about it. Congratulations to the WFWP. In Jin Nim recognized Angelika Selle (President) and the team that did such a phenomenal job. The conference highlighted the beauty of women from all around the world who came to discuss how to unlock the power and beauty of relationships. In Jin Nim had the honor of being the keynote speaker at one of the morning plenary sessions. To come together in the spirit of the feminine and in the celebration of the feminine and discuss amongst themselves how they can be the agent of change to usher in the new millennium. It was an incredibly powerful and profoundly moving experience for In Jin Nim. In Jin Nim could not attend the gala in the evening which she heard was a great success (she had to fly out to Las Vegas to report to True Parents) – with lovely dancers and a comedian who brought down the roof. True Parents and (especially) True Mother were delighted to hear that the WFWP had completed its 19th conference
3. Whenever In Jin Nim visits True Parents she always is so grateful – realizing what an incredible time we are living in. She likes to say that this is the time of the breaking news. Jesus Christ brought the good news – truly helping all of humanity to understand the meaning of what it is to truly love one another and encouraging women to live an inspired and true life. But now is the time of the breaking news because now we are not only talking about understanding and substantiating and applying true love and true life in our lives but really coming to substantiate the true lineage of God – grafting on to the heavenly lineage and becoming one family under God. So – it is an incredibly exciting time for all of us here working in the Ministry

As we think about each Sunday and what topics and issues will be discussed – they (Lovin' Life team) are always tickled pink when they realize that so much of the inspiration comes from the enthusiasm of the young people which they show to the Lovin' Life Ministry every Sunday – and enthusiasm that is shared all around the country in 100 different satellite locations across America. "We know that when we can see and experience the inspired youth, truly encouraged in the spirit of true love – wanting to build that ideal family, society, nation, and world, we know that it is not just a dream that we are dealing with, when we think or ponder or ruminate on the topic on this beautiful world of peace, but it is something tangible, something that we are working towards each and every day, something that we can build upon starting with you and me."
5. As In Jin Nim was taking the trip to Las Vegas, on the way back going through LA they had to wait for a plane to come and replace the plane they were supposed to be on. And so they had some delay time. People started gathering in small groups and talking with each other. And In Jin Nim noticed in one corner three young teenage girls. They were beautiful girls huddled together looking at fashion magazines. Glamour, Elle, Cosmopolitan, People, Us, (and others). They were pointing at different people and things exclaiming, "I want to be like her, I want to have that, she has legs 6 miles long, her body is perfect, 36-24-32." In Jin Nim listened to their conversation – "you know, these people they have it all, they're beautiful, they have their cars, mansions, iPods and iPad's, fabulous girlfriends and boyfriends, all the designer clothes (In Jin Nim named the brands and designers – "they knew their stuff" – designer bags and shoes). When I become rich and successful these are the things that I want!"
6. These ladies were between 15 and 17. They were infused with this incredible desire – wanting the latest designer clothing and bags (In Jin Nim gave several designer names). It is interesting how, it doesn't matter where we come from, what culture we are born into, what race we belong to – in the journey through life, on the road of life where we come to understand what we are all about and who we are and what we need to do and what kind of people we need to be – there is this word that we come face-to-face with from time to time – the word 'desire.'
7. Many times we say to ourselves that we desire things. We desire all these things that we want to acquire – we desire. In Jin Nim often thinks, yes we desire all these things, we desire X – (fill in the box). Now that the movie is out on DVD/Bluray this is the making of from 2 of the shots i worked on with DuMonde VFX in New Orleans for 21 Jump Street, the movie remake of the 80s tv show :)
Initial RnD involved deforming of the car as well. For the actual shots II got animation delivered. FumeFX for various elements like the main explosion, dedicated window fire, secondary ground fire, etc. Procedural and hand painted burn maps and vanilla PFlow for window and secondary fire. Rendered in VRay.
This was done in a month on and off, probably more around 2 weeks real work time.
