Pre-wedding jitters are pretty common. At least one partner in two-thirds of couples in a small Los Angeles-area study reported getting them. But that same study, published in the Journal of Family Psychology in September, found that both men and women who reported pre-wedding hesitation showed higher divorce rates, with 12% of couples with at least one once cold-footed spouse calling it quits before their four-year anniversary. The number's even more staggering when women are the ones who were nervous about getting married. Nineteen percent of the by Melissa Melms, Glamour
It's really funny how things can change in a year's time. You can move in with a guy, have the time of your life figuring out the whole cohabitation thing and maybe even get engaged. Hey, it happened to me!
Yeap, in October 2011, J moved into my one bedroom apartment in Hoboken. We had been dating for two years at the time and were both ready to take the next step in our relationship--a step neither of us had taken with anyone else before. And here I am, a little over a year later, engaged this past October and now I'm planning our wedding.
I remember sitting down to write about "boyfriend-proofing" my apartment right before J moved in. I was so nervous about hiding my tampons and trying to make as much room for him as possible in the closet. Oh, how naive I was! You see, those boyfriend-proofing tips only last a couple months into living with your guy. You can primp and hide your feminine products, but when you're comfortable together you form brand ne...Read More ยป- Taylor Swift sold so many records in 2012, the only people who didn't buy one are probably named Jake and John. Her fourth album, Red, is yet another blockbuster, selling 1.2 million copies in its first week, far outpacing every other week-one sales tally for 2012. (Mumford & Sons' Babel placed a distant second with 600,000). But Red is far from a safe record for Swift. She stretched her sound by co-writing with Swedish hit mafia Max Martin and Shellback and dueting with moon-eyed British folkies Ed Sheeran and Snow Patrol's Gary Lightbody, and tackled assorted adult subjects with the same precision she previously saved for high-school crushes. Don't let the off-white sundresses and kitty-cat Instagrams fool you. At 22, Swift is clearly no innocent: She's in charge of her career to a degree that few artists can dare match, and she's an exceptional songwriter who still hasn't peaked at her craft. We spoke to Swift by telephone while she was in Los Angeles for a TV appearance and video s...Read More ยป

Love Actually
Admit it: Deep down, we all have a soft spot for at least a few rom-coms. Of course, that doesn't mean we think they're realistic. Here are a few examples of where the movies get it wrong when it comes to love:
Plus: 7 Types of Guys Who Won't Make You Happy
1. Yes, You Actually Do Have to Say You're Sorry
Ah, Love Story. We all loved that movie. We all cried. Hard. And the most famous lineโฆwe all know it, and we all love it. When Ryan O'Neal, or should I call him Oliver Barrett? - when he apologizes, and Jenny, played by a very hot, young, Ali MacGraw says, "Love means never having to say you're sorry."
Yes! Yes! We all cheered and smiled through our tears and our swollen eyes. That is what love means.
WHAT? No.
Clearly the person who wrote that line has never actually been in love. Or in a relationship, for that matter. Because love doesn't mean that. Let's see how we would apply that to everyday life:

Ah, the holidays! Most of us envision shared fun and good cheer. It's a wonderful feeling to go into the season of togetherness, knowing you have a special someone to enjoy it with.
Unfortunately, the holidays can be as stressful as they are merry. No matter how much you have in common with your beloved, you may have different ways of viewing this time of year. Whether the sound of "ho, ho, ho" is sacred or annoying to you is largely based on your upbringing. These different world views can cause unnecessary holiday strife.
Here are 5 holiday misunderstandings -- and the best ways to avoid them.
"I didn't know we were exchanging gifts!"
When this scenario happens at work, it's embarrassing. When it unfolds in your living room, there can be hurt feelings. We attach all sorts of meanings to gifting. Maybe homemade presents meant the most in your family, but your partner takes the DIY approach as careless, rather than caring. Perhaps gift giving for you involves a personal act of
