Taylors Mistake to Boulder Bay
Taylor's Mistake is a sheltered cove, most popular with surfers, is so named because Captain Taylor famously mistook it for Lyttelton Harbour. Brightly coloured rustic Kiwi baches line the coastline in this area. Taylor's Mistake is an excellent, safe swimming beach for families and is also frequented by those enjoying the many picturesque walking tracks in the area. Beginning at Taylor's Mistake, the walkway winds around the steep edge of the headland over a number of bays and coves, offering spectacular views of the ocean and the high, open hill landscape of this volcanic peninsula. Of particular interest are the cave dwellings and rugged holiday cottages dotted along the coastline and at Boulder Bay.

Refracting Tsunami
This NOAA animation is of a tsunami refracting around a headland and into a bay. The incoming wave of the tsunami slows as it enters shallower water, with the segment still in deep water continuing quickly. This speed difference results in the wave bending towards shallow water, bending to nearly parallel to the shore.

England Travel Guide - Tour of Beachy Head
Take a tour of Beachy Head in England -- part of the World's Greatest Attractions series by GeoBeats. In the English East Sussex county, lies a tranquil chalk headland, the Beachy Head. The chalk formation started accumulating more than 65 million years ago, around the period known as Late Cretaceous. Lying in the vicinity of the Seven Sisters chalks cliffs, this serene place is simply entrancing with gorgeous views of the sea, the sky, and the land. There are two lighthouses built on the surroundings of this headland, because it posed a significant threat to ships. Due to the continuous erosion of the cliffs, the Belle Tout lighthouse had to be shifted 17 meters inland. Steep cliffs, pristine blue waters, green lands rest unruffled in the laps of nature set to spellbind you.

Views From North Wales Coastal Cycle Path - Angel Bay
Find more info at www.walesdirectory.co.uk . A five minute detour from the North Wales Cycle Track leads to the Rhiwledyn Nature Reserve and Angel Bay on the huge limestone headland of the Little Orme. Known as Porth Dyniewaid on the OS map - locals always call it Angel Bay. Its a great place to have a picnic - enjoy the sea views and the abundance of seabirds, there is a continual stream of cormorants passing by the headland. Dolphins, porpoises and seals are often to be found at Angel Bay, but unfortunately never when I have my camera at the ready! It is a bit of a scramble down to the small beach but it is pleasant to simply sit on the headland and enjoy the views. Or take your fishing rod and try your hand at fishing off the rocks.
