Travel & Tourism technology summary: From chaos to collaboration
Today the onset of mass travel and tourism has seen the pain of delays, lost luggage and seemingly ever-increasing queues confront many travellers. The next decade and beyond will see a qualitative shift in the travel and tourism experience. The future of travel is likely to be shaped by technological innovations which reduce stress, uncertainty and chaos. Our latest travel and tourism research study, "From chaos to collaboration", suggests that an era of 'collaborative travel' will soon emerge, whereby information sharing - among travellers and with travel providers - will transform how people experience their trips. This video recaps the essence of travel & tourism research and looks at essential innovations in travel technology such as NFC, intelligent recommendation, payment with memory or automatic transit, among others. If you want to know more about the future of collaborative travel and tourism, travel technologies, and what it will entail for travel providers, download the free report from the Amadeus corporate blog: www.amadeus.com

european space tourism project
A consortium of 5 prominent and leading European technology companies is now working to develop a rocket-powered aircraft that will be able to carry 2 to 5 people on a sub-orbital trip to an altitude of 130 km and bring them safely back down to earth. The project's name is "Project Enterprise" and it will be financed by private investors. The TALIS Enterprise GmbH, which is based in Germany, initiated the project and now coordinates the technology partners. It began this work in the summer of 2004 and it is the first European space tourism project. The first commercial flight is planned for 2012. The "Enterprise" will serve the emerging commercial space tourism market, though scientific missions are also planned. Please visit: www.european-spacetourism.eu

Charles Simonyi - Space Tourist
[Recorded Feb 7, 2008] Almost 50 years ago, many countries competed in technology innovation -- specifically, The Race to the Moon was a competition between the Soviets and Americans that the entire world watched. As the Cold War diminished, technology competition lessened and an era of cooperation materialized, and as early as 1975, scientific cooperation between the US and the Soviet Union was launched with the first cooperative human space flight. From the competitive to cooperative -- Now, the age of space exploration has advanced to a point where private citizens can travel to space. Using proven equipment and working side-by-side with professional astronauts and cosmonauts from a variety of countries, this new era is defining "outer space" as a new tourist destination. Between April 7 and April 21, 2007, Dr. Charles Simonyi successfully completed his 14-day mission to the International Space Station. Convinced that humans will one day travel and live in space, Dr. Simonyi traveled with the hope of advancing civilian space flight, assisting space station research, and involving the world's youth in the science of space travel. In this lecture, Charles Simonyi tells of his training, spaceflight and time aboard the International Space Station through his personal recollections and photos that highlight both the technical and human elements of spaceflight.

MEDICAL TOURISM IN ECUADOR - HOSPITAL METROPOLITANO - MEDTRAVEL
In 1977 a visionary group of distinguished physicians with optimism gestated the idea of building in the city of Quito, a hospital with international standards. Metropolitan Hospital was established in Quito on 1979 in a strategic alliance with US company AMI, American Medical International, that day. Conclina CA was born. Aero-TV: The Next Horizon - Brian Binnie on Commercial Space Flight
SpaceShipOne Pilot Brian Binnie Reflects on the Future of Commercial Space Flight On October 4th, 2004, the X PRIZE Foundation made international headlines when they awarded the Ansari X PRIZE to Scaled Composites for the successful launch of their craft, SpaceShipOne. Inspired by the Orteig Prize, won by Charles Lindbergh in 1927 for the successful completion of the first non-stop flight from New York to Paris, Peter Diamandis formally announced the X PRIZE competition in 1996. The competition offered the largest incentive prize in history, a stunning $10 million dollar award, to the first non-government organization to launch a reusable manned spacecraft 100 kilometers above the earth's surface twice within two weeks. 26 different teams representing 7 nations around the world competed for the prize. Finally, on the 47th anniversary of the Sputnik 1 launch, the Tier One Project, led by Scaled Composites' aerospace designer Burt Rutan and financed by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen, successfully completed the second of the two necessary launches. Though $10 million dollars was awarded to the team, the 26 participating teams invested more than $100 million dollars in total towards new technologies in pursuit of the prize. Since the success of the Ansari X Prize, more than $1.5 billion dollars has been invested towards the private spaceflight industry. Piloting the historic second flight was former Navy test pilot Brian Binnie. After graduating from the US Navy's Test Pilot ...
