Haruki Murakami (村上 春樹, Murakami Haruki, January 12, 1949) is a contemporary Japanese writer. His books and stories have been bestsellers in Japan as well as internationally, with his work being translated into 50 languages and selling millions of copies outside his native country.
His works of fiction and non-fiction have garnered critical acclaim and numerous awards, both in Japan and internationally, including the World Fantasy Award (2006) and the Frank O'Connor International Short Story Award (2006), while his oeuvre received among others the Franz Kafka Prize (2006) and the Jerusalem Prize (2009). Murakami's most notable works include A Wild Sheep Chase (1982), Norwegian Wood (1987), The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle (1994-1995), Kafka on the Shore (2002), and 1Q84 (2009–2010). He has also translated a number of English works into Japanese, from Raymond Carver to J. D. Salinger.
Murakami's fiction, still criticized by Japan's literary establishment as un-Japanese, was influenced by Western writers from Chandler to Vonnegut by way of Brautigan. It is frequently surrealistic and melancholic or fatalistic, marked by a Kafkaesque rendition of the "recurrent themes of alienation and loneliness" he weaves into his narratives. He is also considered an important figure in postmodern literature. Steven Poole of The Guardian praised Murakami as "among the world's greatest living novelists" for his works and achievements.
1Q84 (いちきゅうはちよん, Ichi-Kyū-Hachi-Yon, One Q Eighty-Four or Q-teen Eighty-Four or ichi-kew-hachi-yon) is a novel by Haruki Murakami, first published in three volumes in Japan in 2009–10. The novel quickly became a sensation, with its first printing selling out the day it was released, and reaching sales of one million within a month. The English language edition of all three volumes, with the first two volumes translated by Jay Rubin and the third by Philip Gabriel, was released in North America and the United Kingdom on October 25, 2011. An excerpt from the novel, "Town of Cats", appeared in the September 5, 2011 issue of The New Yorker magazine. The first chapter of 1Q84 has also been read as an excerpt at Selected Shorts.
The novel was originally published in Japan in three hardcover volumes by Shinchosha. Book 1 and Book 2 were both published on May 29, 2009; Book 3 was published on April 16, 2010.
In English translation, Knopf published the novel in the United States in a single volume on October 25, 2011. In the United Kingdom the novel was published by Harvill Secker in two volumes. The first volume, containing Books 1 and 2, was published on October 18, 2011, followed by the second volume, containing Book 3, published on October 25, 2011. The cover for the Knopf edition, featuring a transparent dust jacket, was created by Chip Kidd.
A book review is a form of literary criticism in which a book is analyzed based on content, style, and merit. A book review can be a primary source opinion piece, summary review or scholarly review. Books can be reviewed for printed periodicals, magazines and newspapers, as school work, or for book web sites on the Internet. A book review's length may vary from a single paragraph to a substantial essays. Such a review may evaluate the book on the basis of personal taste. Reviewers may use the occasion of a book review for a display of learning or to promulgate their own ideas on the topic of a fiction or non-fiction work.
There are a number of journals devoted to book reviews, and reviews are indexed in databases such as Book Review Index and Kirkus Reviews; but many more book reviews can be found in newspaper databases as well as scholarly databases such as Arts and Humanities Citation Index, Social Sciences Citation Index and discipline-specific databases.
A title sequence is the method by which films or television programs present their title, key production and cast members, utilizing conceptual visuals and sound. It typically includes (or begins) the text of the opening credits, and helps establish the setting and tone of the program. It may consist of live action, animation, music, still images, and/or graphics.
Since the invention of the cinematograph, simple title cards were used to begin and end silent film presentations in order to identify both the film and the production company involved, and to act as a signal to viewers that the film had started and then finished. In silent cinema, title cards or intertitles were used throughout to convey dialogue and plot, and it is in some of these early short films that we see the first examples of title sequences themselves, being quite literally a series of title cards shown at the beginning of a film. With the arrival of sound, the sequence was usually accompanied by a musical prelude or overture.

"Murakami is like a magician who explains what he's doing as he performs the trick and still makes you believe he has supernatural powers . . . But while anyone can tell a story that resembles a dream, it's the rare artist, like this one, who can make us feel that we are dreaming it ourselves." —The New York Times Book Review The year is 1984 and the city is Tokyo. A young woman named Aomame follows a taxi driver's enigmatic suggestion and begins to notice puzzling discrepancies in the world around her. She has entered, she realizes, a parallel existence, which she calls 1Q84 —"Q is for 'question mark.' A world that bears a question." My stop-motion that I created for my senior year in art high school. It is inspired by the book 1q84 by Japanese writer Haruki Murakami. Everything you see is created by me and also shot by me. It is a combination of photos and film, edited in both iMovie and Photoshop. The narrator is a good friend of mine that lives in Korea and if I translated some of his words wrong, please forgive me haha! I got sent a lot of files and it was difficult sometimes to find out which audio file matched which English translation. I also know that 1q84 is a Japanese story but as I wanted it to be narrated in an Asian language and I don't know any Japanese people, I think this was the best solution to get the desired effect! Hopefully you enjoy it as much as my classmates, teachers and audience at the exhibi...

This past Sunday, author Haruki Murakami received the Hans Christian Anderson award for literature at a ceremonial event in Denmark. During his acceptance speech, he made a point to discuss the mistakes behind excluding outsiders and rewriting history. He stated, "No matter how high a wall we build to keep intruders out, no matter how strictly we exclude outsiders, no matter how much we rewrite history to suit us, we just end up damaging and hurting ourselves. We have to...work with them. But if they avoid it people won't be able to truly grow and mature." http://hosted2.ap.org/APDEFAULT/4e67281c3f754d0696fbfdee0f3f1469/Article_2016-10-31-AS--Japan-Murakami/id-49a09689d8874c8cbe1fef99c7d903ee http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit Entertainment using http://wochit.com

Norwegian Wood - The Beatles(Lyrics karaoke) ===================================================== I once had a girl, or should I say, she once had me She showed me her room, isn't it good, norwegian wood? She asked me to stay and she told me to sit anywhere So I looked around and I noticed there wasn't a chair I sat on the rug, biding my time, drinking her wine We talked until two and then she said, 'It's time for bed' She told me she worked in the morning and started to laugh I told her I didn't and crawled off to sleep in the bath And when I awoke I was alone, this bird had flown So I lit a fire, isn't it good, norwegian wood? =================================================

my take on this classic
ALL THAT I WANT / C21
I just need you to know
That everytime you walk into a room I get a feeling
And I try to make it show
But every now and then it seems as though you don't believe it
Girl just dance
I like the way you move it
Just shake, shake, shake into the music
C'mon and dance
Don't worry about it
Don't need to play no games 'cause I love you just the same
(You turn) me on and on turn me on
The definition of all that I want
But you don't seem to hear me at all
I'm telling you
Baby you're all that I want
All that I want
All that I know
is your the only one that makes me feel the way you do girl
And time will show
That all this jealousy is just a waste of emotion
Girl just dance
I like the way you move it
Just shake, shake, shake into the music
C'mon and dance
Don't worry about it
Don't need to play no games 'cause I love you just the same
(You turn) me on and on turn me on
The definition of all that I want
But you don't seem to hear me at all
I'm telling you
Baby you're all that I want
All that I want
Just hear me now
I want you to know
I'm into you
And you alone
Just hear me now
I want you to know
I'm into you
And you alone
Girl just dance
I like the way you move it
Just shake, shake, shake into the music
C'mon and dance
Don't worry about it
Don't need to play no games 'cause I love you just the same
