Ruth Underwood Pre Zappa - The Hamilton Face Band
This 1968 album features Ruth Komanoff (Underwood) on the drums, as well as Steve Margoshes, who would go on to write music for broadway shows. The lyrics and singing are awful, but the music is interesting.

The Pussies formed in 1988 when two Dadaist student dropouts met at a student cafeteria in South West London. Myreo Cossknee and Jama Cheekpo both had a lot in common with their love for the Dadaist art movement. Although the band never took a break from Dadaist group activities, they were not known as The Pussies in the Putney Wandsworth area until early 1990. They did compromise their popularity by having numerous band disputes often in public places and they also compromised their band image by insisting in wearing female genitalia on masks, clothes or hats made of papier-mâché wherever they went. Their music was often improvised with tone being their predominant factor before construct/deconstruct of a composition whilst drinking mushroom tea.
Their unpopular anti establishment gigs would always involve fights and several cunnilingus acts. They were banned from attending their own gigs for 8 years for excessive use of covert/concealed violence and disturbing radical pornography visuals.
They only released a single single on cassette which only scratched the surface of the lower echelons of the billboard top 100 of cassette releases on April/May of 1991. Nevertheless, they became a cult band for 30 years despite no touring and jail time for Jama Cheekpo following a major drug bust in 2009.
Recently, Mark E.Smith (RIP) was billed to produce their live album named "Stop phoning me" and their next studio album "We Are The Pussies - Cats Not Beef Curtains" on Clive Clitoris Records.
All music and instruments by
Myreo Cossknee, Jama Cheekpo, Sophie Cat and Lionel Ashford.
The Pussies support Wikileaks, Truth, Cynthia McKinney, Doctor Judy Wood, NCP (No Commercial Potential) , Sophie The Cat, Mellifluous Anonymous, Manowar, MDMA, Oscar Wilde, Jiddu Krishnamurti, Frank/Dweezil Zappa and Marshall Rosenberg.
