Bretwalda - Politics - Windfarms and the Rape of Britain.mp4
Hard-hitting attack on the government's windfarms policy, backed up by data and delivered in an engaging style. In this hard-hitting booklet, Struan Stevenson MEP demonstrates how Britain is being raped by the current mad race for renewable energy sources, and particularly by wind power. The manic scramble is responsible for the rape of Britain. Wind turbines violate the principle of fairness by transferring vast amounts of money from the poor to the rich. They despoil our unique landscape and environment; and through noise, the flicker-effect and vibration, they abuse the health and welfare of people and animals which have to live near them. Far from being an eco-friendly answer to our energy needs, windfarms are an environmental disaster being inflicted on Britain that we will live to regret. About the Author Struan Stevenson is a Conservative Euro MP for Scotland. He is Chairman of the Climate Change, Biodiversity & Sustainable Development Intergroup in the European Parliament.

Bretwalda - Politics - A History of Negative Campaigning: UK & USA.mp4
Insiders' analysis of negative campaigning in the politics of the UK and USA - why it works and why it does not. The aim of A History of Negative Campaign: UK and USA stems from our recognition of those who continue to engage in the dark arts. Politics still very much remains a game of two halves: Positive campaigning everyone talks about and Negative campaigning they don't acknowledge. Sangra, begins with an historical overview of the presidential elections in the United States of America, the birthing ground of political campaigns, political consultants and ultimately the rise of negative campaigns; drawing on the popularity of the Democrats and Republicans during a timeline of eras. Woodman, proceeds with the lessons the United Kingdom have learnt from the Americanisation of politics and examines the negative campaigns of the Conservative, Labour and LibDem Parties. He concentrates on General Elections, but also talks about America's style in the London Mayoral Election. Both authors present separate conclusions with predictions ahead of the upcoming Presidential and General Elections. About the Authors Harpreet is a 2008 graduate of Loughborough University with BSc Hons in Communications and Media Studies and has completed a dissertation researching spin and Alastair Campbell. She now works as a full time political analyst. Andrew has worked for the Direct Democracy movement as well as co foundering the successful Reinstate Roger Helmer campaign. Andrew worked for ...

Bretwalda - Politics - What the Immigrant Saw.mp4
Britain as seen through the eyes of an immigrant from Belgium. Amusing, serious, incisive, but always affectionate, JP Floru brings an outsider's eye to look at Britain. In this book JP Floru takes us on his journey to get to know Britain, his adoptive home. He recounts events both amusing and serious. He looks at British towns and countryside with a fresh eye, revealing us as others see us. "I nearly walked under a car when I spotted my first ever bus queue. A dozen people of all ages and walks of life stood neatly behind each other (without touching!). I stared at it in wonder." "Initially I thought people really wanted to hear more when they said "how interesting"; and I appreciated the compliment when they said "nice tie"." "I wonder what Marlborough, Wellington or Churchill would have thought about the EU." "Conviction is key: people can spot from a mile away if a politician just speaks spin manufactured to please them." About the Author JP Floru arrived in Britain in 1994 with a single suitcase and a scholarship to Leeds University. He has since become a full time artist selling his works at galleries in Londong and New York. He has also entered politics becoming a councillor in London and standing for the European Parliament in 2009.

Bretwalda 2012 Montgomery and the first war on terror
Author Robert Oulds talks about his new books "Montgomery and the First War on Terror". About the book: Revealed in detail for the first time, the early career of Montgomery as a counter-terrorist commander in Ireland and the Middle East. Field Marshal Montgomery was one of the UK's most controversial soldiers and a recent ComRes survey showed him to be ranked second only to Nelson as all-time greatest British commanders. For the first time this book looks at Montgomery's early role in the war on terror in the early 20th century - and what he can teach us today in the modern age and the latest war on terror. Montgomery recognised that war on terror was as much political as military. By revealing for the first time, Montgomery's contrasting approach to the two main conflicts facing the British Empire in the inter-war years this book shows how he mastered the art of facing insurgents and uncover an aspect of Monty's military career that is usually passed over by biographers. The lessons of these conflicts have never before been looked at in one definitive study, with this book they are properly explored and a path for future British policy is set out. Using a range of photographs of British serviceman on operation in Ireland and the Middle-East, the story of Britain's first war on terror will be explained to the reader. And the lessons for the present day will be clear and contrast with the conventional 'wisdom' as to how this conflict should be handled. Social Media ...

Having joined the RAF in 1936, Gibson was a bomber pilot when war broke out. He won a DFC in July 1940 then, having completed a tour of operations volunteered for Fighter Command and flew nightfighters on 99 sorites during which he was awarded a bar to his DFC and the DSO. He then returned to Bomber Command and flew 46 more missions before being chosen to form and command No.617 Squadron for the Dambusters Raid. After a period off operations, Gibson returned to Bomber Command to act as a Pathfinder. He was killed on one such raid in September 1944. Bretwalda - Politics - Ombudsmen - Time for Reform.mp4
Thoughtful and convincing work arguing for the thorough reform of the Ombudsman system written by an MP PPS in the House of Commons. The Ombudsman was established in 1967 to investigate complaints of maladministration and injustice by central government. In 1974 the Local Government Ombudsman was established to perform a similar role for complaints against local councils. In 2001 they were joined by the Financial Ombudsman Service. There are now more than two dozen Ombudsmen covering everything from the NHS to furniture manufacturers. In this provocative booklet Nicky Morgan MP argues forcefully that the system is ripe for a long overdue overhaul. She calls for Ombudsmen to look at service failure as well as at maladministration, to publicise their findings more widely and to be given greater powers to right the wrongs suffered by individuals at the hands of faceless bureaucrats. "The Coalition Government is committed to empowering people" writes Nicky. It is now time to act. About the Author Nicky Morgan is Member of Parliament for Loughborough. Nicky studied law at Oxford University. In September 2010 Nicky was appointed Parliamentary Private Secretary (PPS) to the Rt Hon David Willetts MP, Cabinet Minister at the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills. She had previously been elected by her fellow MPs to serve on the Business, Innovation and Skills Select Committee, but gave up that position following her appointment as a PPS.

Bretwalda OTTOTR St George
Entertaining yet scholarly account of how an obscure saint from the Middle East has become the patron saint of England and one of the most popular saints in the world. St George is one of the most instantly recognisable saints that has ever existed. His bold red cross on a white background waves from football terraces wherever England play, flutters from cars and flies proudly from English flagpoles everywhere. And yet surprisingly few people are aware of where he has come from, how he developed and what has made him what he is today. In this book, the truth behind the legend is revealed. Was there really a dragon? How did St George get his red cross? Why is he England's patron saint?. This fascinating book draws on the most recent academic research into folklore and legends to put together an accurate account of St George's original life story, and how he has developed in folklore and legend to become what he is today.
