The ingestion of cereals and milk, in normal modern dietary amounts by normal humans, activates reward centres in the brain. Foods that were common in the diet before agriculture (fruits and so on) do not have this pharmacological property. The effects of exorphins are qualitatively the same as those produced by other opioid and / or dopaminergic drugs, that is, reward, motivation, reduction of anxiety, a sense of wellbeing, and perhaps even addiction. Though the effects of a typical meal are quantitatively less than those of doses of those drugs, most modern humans experience them several times a day, every day of their adult lives. ............ We suggested further that constant exorphin intake facilitated the behavioural changes and subsequent population growth of civilisation, by increasing people's tolerance of (a) living in crowded sedentary conditions, (b) devoting effort to the benefit of non-kin, and (c) playing a subservient role in a vast hierarchical social structure.

With courses perceptively, he has also recognized the importance of acquiring an understanding of the business side of the industry, and the varied aspects of technology and production. This Scene expresses- FEAR- noun: an emotion experienced in anticipation of some specific pain or danger (usually accompanied by a desire to flee or fight). noun: a feeling of anxiety and agitation caused by the presence or nearness of danger, evil, pain, etc.; timidity; dread; terror; fright; apprehension. Terrify not your soul with vain imaginary fears. By realizing that you are the one feeding the fire, you can start to take control of your fears. Panic is a vicious cycle that can be broken. When you start to have irrational fears you need to take action quick. Eleanor Roosevelt once said: "You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing, which you think you cannot do." We must stop running away from things that frighten us, face our fears head on, and do the thing we fear the most. Most of the time we'll find out that the "thing" was not that scary after all. Our imaginations had behaved like a super fertilizer and grown a grotesque monstrosity in our minds. Remember, our imaginations are incredibly powerful. They can work against us, creating horrible images that leave us paralyzed with fear and they can also work for us, building a world where everything we do is an adventure, a miracle. And the most amazing thing is that we hold the power to control our minds - we allow fear to dominate our lives or we choose to dominate fear. Those are our only two choices.

Nascido no dia 1 de dezembro de 1935, Allan Stewart Königsberg desde pequeno já se envolvia no mundo do entretenimento. Aos 15 anos, já como Woody Allen, o jovem começou a escrever para colunas de jornais e programas de rádio. Ao mesmo tempo, frequentava a Universidade de Nova York, mas nunca chegou a se formar. Seu pai, Martin Konigsberg (n. 25 de dezembro de 1900 - m. 13 de janeiro de 2001), foi livreiro e restaurador; sua longevidade premitiu-lhe viver em um século.[carece de fontes?]
Em 1964, Woody já era um respeitável comediante, tanto que um disco chamado Woody Allen, com as gravações de seus shows, foi indicado ao Prêmio Grammy. Sua primeira experiência cinematográfica aconteceu no ano seguinte, quando em uma dessas apresentações conquistou um produtor de cinema que o chamou para escrever e estrelar What's New Pussycat? (no Brasil, O Que é Que Há, Gatinha?, e em Portugal, O Que Há de Novo, Gatinha?) parodiando um filme de James Bond.[1] Como diretor estreou em 1969, com "Um assaltante bem trapalhão", e de lá para cá foram mais de 30 filmes, mantendo uma média de um filme por ano.
O primeiro filme premiado de Woody Allen foi Annie Hall (no Brasil, Noivo Neurótico, Noiva Nervosa, 1977),[2] que recebeu quatro Oscars (três para Allen, de melhor filme, roteiro e direção, e um para Diane Keaton, de melhor atriz).
Apesar de não ter comparecido em nenhuma das cerimônias em que estava concorrendo, Woody conquistou outro prêmio de melhor roteiro original, por Hannah and her Sisters (no Brasil Hannah e suas Irmãs, e, em Portugal, Ana e as Suas Irmãs), e recebeu outras 18 indicações em diversas categorias. Em 2002, no Oscar seguinte aos atentados de 11 de setembro nos Estados Unidos, Allen finalmente compareceu à cerimônia para fazer uma homenagem à cidade de Nova York.
Nova Iorque é o cenário de praticamente todos os seus filmes e lá é rodado outro clássico do cineasta, Manhattan, que recebeu diversos prêmios e conta com as presenças de Meryl Streep e, novamente, Diane Keaton, com quem teve um relacionamento.
A vida amorosa de Allen sempre deu o que falar à imprensa. Antes da fama, Woody Allen já havia tido dois casamentos e, por conseqüência, dois divórcios, com Harlene Rosen[3] e Louise Lasser (divorciou-se em 1969).[4] Depois da fama, namorou várias importantes atrizes, que sempre ficavam com os papéis principais de seus filmes, até se firmar com Mia Farrow. Com a atriz ficou casado até 1997, quando começou um polêmico relacionamento com Soon Yi, filha adotiva de Mia, com quem está casado até o momento.
Fã de Ingmar Bergman, Groucho Marx, Federico Fellini, Cole Porter e Anton Chekhov, já trabalhou com Carrie Fisher, Michael Caine, Max Von Sydow, Madonna, Martin Landau, Gene Wilder, Angelica Huston, Meryl Streep, Sydney Pollack, Judy Davis, Liam Neeson, Juliette Lewis, Alan Alda, Goldie Hawn, Leonardo di Caprio, Edward Norton, Drew Barrymore, Julia Roberts, Tim Roth, Natalie Portman, Helen Hunt, Charlize Theron, Dan Aykroyd, Danny DeVito, entre outros.
Allen também é conhecido por lançar atrizes. Seu último lançamento de destaque foi Mira Sorvino, que conquistou o Oscar de melhor atriz coadjuvante pelo papel dado a ela por Allen em Mighty Aphrodite (no Brasil, Poderosa Afrodite).
Dirigindo, escrevendo e atuando a maioria de seus filmes, Woody Allen encarna, na maioria das vezes, um judeu nova-iorquino neurótico e fracassado. Com alguns filmes otimistas e outros nem tanto, o cineasta consegue repetir os temas sem parecer repetitivo. Nesta linha, dirigiu filmes como: A Midsummer Night's Sex Comedy (no Brasil, Sonhos Eróticos Numa Noite de Verão; em Portugal, Uma Comédia Sexual numa Noite de Verão), Crimes and Misdeamenors (no Brasil, Crimes e Pecados e, em Portugal, Crimes e Escapadelas), Manhattan Murder Mystery (no Brasil, Um Misterioso Assassinato em Manhattan e, em Portugal, O Misterioso Assassínio em Manhattan), Everyone Says I Love You (no Brasil, Todos Dizem Eu te Amo e, em Portugal, Toda a Gente Diz que te Amo), Deconstructing Harry (Desconstruindo Harry, no Brasil, e As Faces de Harry"), em Portugal, Bullets over Broadway (no Brasil, Tiros na Broadway e, em Portugal, Balas sobre a Broadway), The Purple Rose of Cairo (A Rosa Púrpura do Cairo), além dos já supracitados.
Em 2000 iniciou um contrato com a DreamWorks que correspondeu com o que a crítica julgou ser sua pior fase. Apesar de realizar Small Time Crooks (br: Trapaceiros; pt: Vigaristas de Bairro), The Curse of Jade Scorpion (br: O Escorpião de Jade; pt: A Maldição do Escorpião de Jade), Hollywood Ending (br: Dirigindo no Escuro) e Anything Else (br: Igual a Tudo na Vida; pt: A Vida e Tudo o Mais") nessa fase, Allen nunca chegou a ser brilhante.
Depois do fim de seu contrato com a empresa de Steven Spielberg, Allen decidiu reatar o namoro com o drama. Primeiro veio a aproximação com o gênero, com o Melinda e Melinda, seguido de Match Point, que foi o primeiro drama do cineasta em 16 anos, que arrebatou muitos elogios da crítica. O longa recebeu quatro indicações ao Globo de Ouro, inclusive o de melhor filme de drama, e uma indicação ao Oscar de melhor roteiro original. Match Point marca ainda por ser o primeiro filme de Allen passado em Londres e também o primeiro com a atriz Scarlett Johansson. O diretor retornou à comédia em seu projeto seguinte, Scoop, também com Scarlett.
Em 2008 lançou o filme Cassandra's Dream (O Sonho de Cassandra), um filme sobre dois irmãos com problemas de dinheiro que são contratados pelo seu tio milionário para assassinarem um inimigo dele. Foi um filme muito mal recebido pela crítica e considerado dos piores de Woody Allen. O realizador não atua neste filme.
Em 2008 realizou o filme Vicky Cristina Barcelona, também com Scarlett Johansson.
Além de comediante, diretor, roteirista e ator de cinema, Woody Allen toca clarinete semanalmente num bar de Nova Iorque. Sua ligação com a música, principalmente com o Jazz, pode ser conferida em todos os seus filmes, dos quais é responsável também pela escolha da trilha sonora. Em 2002 participou, pela primeira vez, do Festival de Cannes, onde ganhou uma Palma de Ouro pelo conjunto de sua obra.
Woody Allen se descreve da seguinte maneira "As pessoas sempre se enganam em duas coisas sobre mim: pensam que sou um intelectual (porque uso óculos) e que sou um artista (porque meus filmes sempre perdem dinheiro)".

William Franklin "Billy" Graham Jr (Charlotte, 7 de Novembro de 1918) é um pregador batista norte-americano. Foi conselheiro espiritual de vários presidentes americanos. Foi ainda o mais proeminente membro da Convenção Batista Sulista dos EUA.
Graham já pregou pessoalmente para mais pessoas do que qualquer pregador da história ao redor do mundo. De acordo com a sua equipe, a partir de 1993, mais de 2,5 milhões de pessoas tinham "Um passo à frente em suas cruzadas para aceitar Jesus Cristo como seu Salvador pessoal". A partir de 2008, a audiência de Graham's lifetime, incluindo rádio e televisão, superou 2,2 bilhões.

[editar] Infância e juventude
Nascido em uma fazenda leiteira em Charlotte, Carolina do Norte, Billy Graham foi levado pelos pais para a Associação de Igrejas Presbiterianas Reformadas, Frank Graham e Morrow Coffey Graham, que mudou a denominação Batista Sulista em 1934 durante um encontro presbiteriano, conduzido pelo pastor Mordecai Ham. Graham foi ordenado no ministério Batistas Sulista em 1939.
Após terminar o ensino médio na Escola Sharon (Sharon High School) em Maio de 1936, Graham foi para a Faculdade Bob Jones (Bob Jones College), agora chamada de Universidade Bob Jones (Bob Jones University), localizado na cidade de Cleveland, no Tennessee, mas achou extremamente sectário e transferiu para o Instituto Bíblico da Flórida, agora Faculdade Trinity da Flórida (Trinity College of Florida), e terminou o curso de teologia na Faculdade de Wheaton (Wheaton College), no estado de Illinois em 1943. Durante o tempo que esteve na Faculdade de Wheaton, Graham afirmou que a Bíblia é a "palavra infalível de Deus".
Ainda em 1943, Graham se juntou à Henrietta Mears da Primeira Igreja Presbiteriana de Hollywood que foi de ajuda imprenscindível para a escolha do primeiro acampamento criado por ele chamado de Forest Home Christian Camp (agora chamado de Forest Home Ministries), às margens do lago Big Bear (Grande Urso) localizado no sudoeste da Califórnia.

Billy Graham casou-se em 1943 com Ruth Bell que depois passou a se chamar Ruth Graham, filha de missionários presbiterianos na China, o pai dela L. Nelson Bell era cirurgião geral e destacado membro na história da antiga Presbyterian Church in the United States. Poucas pessoas tiveram mais influência em Billy Graham do que o Dr. Bell.[1] O casal tem 5 filhos, 19 netos e 28 bisnetos. Os filhos Franklin Graham e Anne Graham Lotz também são evangelistas, e atualmente controlam os negócios do pai, parcialmente aposentado devido à idade avançada, ao mal de Parkinson e a outras doenças. Depois de anos de pregação, Graham se dedicou à doutrina do batismo infantil, que é aceito por um grande número de cristãos (mas proibido pelos Batistas Sulistas). Graham fez questão de batizar todos os seus netos e bisnetos. Em 14 de junho de 2007, faleceu em Montreat, Carolina do Norte, na casa do casal Graham, a Sra. Ruth Bell Graham.

Após graduar em Wheaton, Graham foi co-fundador da Youth for Christ (Mocidade para Cristo) junto com o evangelista Charles Templeton. Ele viajou como evangelista por todo os Estados Unidos e Europa levando os ensinamentos cristãos. Graham planejou uma série de missões em Los Angeles em 1949 e as missões levaram 8 semanas, mais do que o planejado que eram 3 semanas. Ele liderou as missões em Londres que duraram 12 semanas, e uma missão na cidade de Nova York na Madison Square Garden em 1957 que durou 16 semanas. Do começo até o fim do seu ministério, Graham desfrutou de uma reputação privilegiada devido às suas cruzadas serem feitas em lugares onde outros evangelistas consideravam impossível. Durante a Guerra Fria, Graham falava a grandes multidões em países da Europa Oriental e na União Soviética. Durante o Apartheid, Graham foi constantemente recusado à visitar a África do Sul, até que o governo finalmente permitiu que podessem fazer a cruzada. A primeira cruzada de Graham na África do Sul ocorreu a partir de 1973. Ele usou a cruzada para denunciar o Apartheid ocorrido no mundo. Graham foi um dos poucos pregadores que conseguiram falar na Coréia do Norte. Graham se opôs a segregação racial durante os anos 1960 e pagava fiança de Martin Luther King, sempre quando era preso nas cadeias do sul dos Estados Unidos durante a era dos direitos civis nos anos 1960.

Graham foi presidente da faculdade batista, a Faculdade do Noroeste em Minnesota entre 1948 e 1952. Fundou a Associação Evangelística Billy Graham, em 1950, tendo como sede na cidade de Minneapolis. A Associação mudou-se para a cidade de Charlotte, na Carolina do Norte. Na AEBG (em inglês BGEA) estão incluídos:
- 'Hour of Decision', programa de rádio ouvido em todo o mundo há mais de 50 anos.
- Especiais de missões na televisão que são regularmente transmitidos nos horários nobres em quase todos os comerciais dos Estados Unidos e Canadá.
- Uma coluna semanal de jornal, chamada 'My Answer', feito por notícias de jornais de todo os EUA.
- Uma revista, chamada 'Decision magazine', que é a publicação oficial da AEBG.
- O periódico evangélico mensal 'Founded Christianity Today' criado em 1956 tendo Carl Ferdinand Howard Henry como primeiro editor.
- O site Passageway.org, um site dedicado ao público jovem da AEBG.
- A produtora de cinema 'World Wide Pictures', responsável pela criação e distribuição de mais de 130 filmes dedicados ao evangelismo.
[editar] Cruzadas
Em suas chamadas "cruzadas", eventos evangélicos de massa que organizava desde 1948 em estádios, parques e outros locais públicos, Billy Graham já alcançou uma audiência direta de quase 210 milhões de pessoas em 185 países. O foco de seus sermões geralmente é "Jesus Cristo é o único Caminho de Salvação."
A primeira "cruzada" feita com sucesso ocorreu na Austrália, em 1959. Esta cruzada foi considerada o início da evangelização em massa na história australiana e teve efeitos consistentes no crescimento do protestantismo em todo o mundo, tendo como consequência uma criação de numerosas igrejas em um período de 15 anos.
A partir de 1949, Graham sai da obscuridade devido a influência dos dois principais jornalistas americanos da época, William Randolph Hearst e Henry Luce. O interesse de Hearst em Grahan permanece um mistério, porque ambos nunca se encontraram. Muitos acreditam, entretanto, que as falas patrióticas do pastor vieram ao encontro do pensamento anti-comunista de Hearst. O fato é que, depois de ter visto uma de suas cruzadas em Los Angeles em 1949, William Randolph Hearst enviou um telegrama aos editores do jornal com a seguinte mensagem: "Puff Graham"(promovam Graham), e o resultado foi o aumento da exposição da mídia que causou ao evento uma duração de 8 semanas - 5 semanas mais longa do que o planejado. Já Henry Luce definiu seu apoio ao colocar Billy Graham como capa da revista Time em 1954.
Em 24 de Junho de 2005, Billy Graham iniciou o que seria a sua última cruzada pela América do Norte, no Flushing Meadows Park em Nova York. Mas em Março de 2006, Billy Graham organizou o "Festival da Esperança", junto com o seu filho, Franklin Graham. O festival organizado em Nova Orleans, tinha como objetivo a recuperação da cidade depois da passagem do Furacão Katrina. Mais de 1.360 pessoas foram convertidas durante o evento, que foi apoiado nas 215 igrejas em volta da aérea metropolitana de Nova Orleans.
Após a doença do pai, Franklin Graham cuida da instituição e das cruzadas e seu filho , Will Graham, organiza cruzadas entre os jovens. As cruzadas não tem lugar específico, podendo ser em uma larga avenida, estádio, parque ou na rua. Graham conseguiu organizar um "exército" de mais de 5 mil pessoas formando um gigantesco coral que cantam músicas, convidando as pessoas a participar.

Politicamente, Graham foi registrado como membro do Partido Democrata Americano, apesar de que nos últimos anos, ele adotou uma posição flexível, escolhendo o partido mais apropriado para expor as suas idéias. Ele tem relações com os ex-presidentes Dwight Eisenhower, Richard Nixon, Lyndon B. Johnson, Bill Clinton, e da família Bush. Ele desfrutou de um relacionamento extremamente restrito com o ex-presidente Richard Nixon e em 1960 ajudou-o na campanha para presidente dando um forte suporte dos protestantes evangélicos, principalmente presbiterianos e batistas, que estavam preocupados com a candidatura do católico romano, John Kennedy. Após a vitória presidencial de Nixon em 1968, Graham foi o conselheiro oficial, visitando com frequência a Casa Branca, servindo ocasionalmente serviços privativos religiosos para os presidentes americanos desde então. A apenas dois dias das eleições presidenciais de 2000, Graham foi chamado para fazer a oração no café da manhã presidencial na Flórida com George W. Bush que depois foi chamado formalmente para endossá-lo pelos seus atendimentos espirituais.

Em 14 de Setembro de 2001, após os ataques de 11 de Setembro, Graham organizou um culto na Washington National Cathedral (Catedral Nacional de Washington) a pedido do presidente George W. Bush e de outros líderes políticos dos Estados Unidos.
Graham foi ministro de vários presidentes, sendo responsável pelo culto religioso por um funeral presidencial e um enterro presidencial. Graham presidiu os serviços funerários do ex-presidente Lyndon B. Johnson em 1973 e tomou parte no funeral do governador texano John Connally, que foi um grande amigo de Lyndon Johnson e que se feriu no assassinato do presidente John F. Kennedy.
Em Junho de 1993, Graham realizou dois cultos funerários oficiais em menos de um mês: primeiro foi o funeral de de John Connaly e uma semana depois, o da primeira-dama Pat Nixon.
Ele realizou também o culto funerário de Richard Nixon em 1994. Devido ao mal de Parkinson, Graham ficou incapaz de comandar o funeral de estado de Ronald Reagan em 11 de Junho de 2004 que foi substituído pelo reverendo John Danforth que é senador repúblicano do estado do Missouri, e recebeu a sugestão de uma possível substituição para comandar os próximos funerais de estado americanos, aconselhado pelo ex-presidente George H. W. Bush. Devido à problemas de saúde, Billy Graham não pode celebrar o culto do funeral de estado do ex-presidente Gerald R. Ford em Washington em 2 de Janeiro de 2007.

Em 2002, Billy Graham foi alvo de polêmica nos Estados Unidos, devido à divulgação de algumas fitas ("Richard Nixon tapes") por parte da Casa Branca, gravadas 30 anos antes, em que ele conversava com o ex-presidente em tom que foi considerado anti-semita, sobre um alegado "controle dos judeus sobre a mídia norte-americana", o qual deveria "ser quebrado", caso contrário "terminaria afundando o país". Quando da divulgação das fitas, Graham reuniu-se com líderes judeus, disse não se lembrar do conteúdo das conversas, mas pediu perdão pelos comentários, que "não refletiam seu pensamento".
Outra polêmica suscitada em relação a Billy Graham teria sido sua aproximação com os católicos ao encontrar-se com o Papa João XXIII em 1963, retornando ao Vaticano, em janeiro de 1982. Para alguns grupos de evangélicos estas visitas aos papas são até hoje interpretadas como atos de apostasia, bem como os seus posicionamentos mais flexíveis dentro da doutrina cristã.

Graham já planejava a sua saída devido a problemas de saúde. Ele sofre de mal de Parkinson há mais de 15 anos, causando acúmulo de fluido em seu cérebro e com isso pneumonia, osteoporose, ossos quebradiços e recentemente revelado que ele sofre de câncer de próstata. Devido à sua doença, Billy Graham entregou o cargo para o seu filho mais velho, Franklin Graham.

Billy Graham recebeu Congressional Gold Medal (Medalha de Ouro Congressista); o prêmioTempleton Foundation Prize for Progress in Religion (Prêmio Fundação Templeton para o progresso da religião); o Prêmio Sylvanus Thayer para o compromisso do "Cargo, Honra e País" e o prêmio Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation Freedom Award (Prêmio Fundação da Liberdade Ronald Reagan) pelas contribuições para as causas da fé e da liberdade.
Graham recebeu o prêmio Big Brother of the Year Award (Prêmio Grande Irmão do Ano) pelo o seu trabalho em nome do bem-estar das crianças. Ele foi citado no George Washington Carver Memorial Institute (Instituto Memorial George Washington Carver) pela suas contribuições as relações entre os povos.
Em 1999, Graham foi introduzido no Hall da Fama da música Gospel[2] pelo seu incentivo à carreira de diversos artistas deste segmento.
Em Dezembro de 2001 foi presenteado com a honraria Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire (Comandante Fidalgo da Ordem do Império Britânico), pela suas contribuições internacionais civis e religiosas durante os 60 anos. Ele foi reconhecido pela Anti-Defamation League (Liga Anti-Defamatória) e a National Conference of Christians and Jews (Conferência Nacional dos Cristãos e Judeus) pela sua dedicação para um melhor entendimento de todas as religiões.
