A short documentary on our community involvement school project focusing on a small chapel in Barangay Tagumpay, San Leonardo, Nueva Ecija. This chapel, at first look, cannot be considered one because it’s not properly maintained, not properly cleaned, and it lacks things that a normal chapel has. Although it is normal for that kind of chapel to exist, even in other places because not only the neighboring people are not very wealthy, but it is also hard for the government to reach this kind of place. In our surveys and ocular inspection, we have found out that the nearest church can be reached by the community only through riding public transportation, which costs around P100 according to the locals. Also, according to the people, some of the people there are too lazy or too busy to go to the church. They rather spend their time working or resting instead of going to the chapel to pray and give thanks. We also found out that the priest only comes in the chapel during the last week of the month and the lay minister conducts sermons during the other 3 Sundays. Our group has concluded that if we do minor renovations and donate small things that will have a lasting effect on the chapel, it might encourage the people to go to mass and at the same time teach kids who don’t know how to pray.
