'Fiscal cliff deal brings no relief to struggling Americans'
The US House of Representatives has approved a controversial bill, designed to prevent the country from potentially sliding back into recession. The fiscal cliff deal - passed earlier by the Senate - will prevent nationwide tax hikes and spending cuts from coming into force, at least for the time being - READ MORE on.rt.com The House Republicans wanted to amend the bill, but then decided they didn't have enough support to make last-minute changes to the motion. The tug-of-war over the text revolved around a Democrat-promoted increase in income tax for the rich - for the first time in two decades. But analyst Lawrence Freeman says, that in the long run, this bill won't make life any easier for millions of struggling Americans. NEW VIDEO FOR EGYPTRIXX HERE
http://anf.nu/old-black
The video examines the relationship between the simulated image and its physical manifestation. The landscape appearing in the video references one of Fischer´s relief sculptures (http://anfischer.com/new-relief-in-progress/).
The sculpture is magnified and distorted by the soundscape created by David Psutka. As time progresses the landscape becomes increasingly complex and distorted and finally changes its aggregate state to liquid. The shapes of the polygons appear in contrast to the fluid with which they collide.
The 3d model was textured with photos of the physical sculpture, which was carved from a block of mdf with a cnc-miling machine.

AWFILMS | Japan 2010 | Ebisu + Other
Finally got around to finishing this video. It has been forever ago since i was in Japan. Its been about 7 months now. Yeah i have been slacking, but i have been motivated again. Ever since Japan was struck by the Eartquakes etc, I have been working my ass off doing stickers that i am making and doing for charity and then donating all the profits to Red Cross Japan Relief Fund. This really got me motivated to finish my Japan video. I saw pictures of places i had shot that were ruined and i wanted to relive my experience.
Stickers can be ordered here:
forjapan.bigcartel.com
ETA: Is about a week or two due to the fact I am doing the stickers myself. Theres a video i previously posted of how i do them! Thank you for the support!
This trip was by far the best i have ever been on. Everything in Japan is just so much different and getting to experience these drivers and watching them tandem so close is unreal. LITERALLY. Ebisu Circuit is awesome, and so are all the drivers and everyone in Japan.
***Also Walker Wilkerson got to drive here. He is in the black hatch with no front bumper on!***
One thing i lacked and had trouble with was a tripod. Next time i will have more gear!!! I ended up using my steadicam as a tripod somewhat
Enjoy the film.
Special Thanks to :
Antonio Alvendia from Motormavens.com
Andy, Chris, and Emily from Powervehicles.com
Kumakubo and friends from Ebisu Circuit
and anyone else i forgot.
Thank you so much for letting me come out there and film! I will be back for drift matsuri!!!

hair-whip heartbreak
Naomi is 16, and works with us at photography factory when she is off school pretty much as an equal member. Lets be honest age is irrelevant in a great picture, plus she has a sense of the social media space to rival the best new media agency analysts. All the newest trends are always playing out as only she predicts. Her detailed clear and analysis of youth culture on the internet is worth a million dollars to us and she is a key member of our team. More importantly her simple black and white photographic portraits are utterly brilliant, an evocation of sub suburban teenage life as seen though the eyes of a 15 (now 16) year old girl. But on the day of this slow motion test Naomi was not her normal beautiful smiling dry sarcastic self (think Juno with a camera). Recently she had a relationship with a Hollister lookalike boy end in an unfair way (what was ever fair about being 16?) and have to get it all dragged around the internet as the aftermath played out on FaceBook in a very modern and very public way. So in other words she was putting on a brave face. We all involved setting up the high speed camera and needed someone to stand in as a lighting dummy, When shooter one had the idea to getting someone to shake their hair around... and see how it might look at 2000 fps. Naomi stepped up to the plate and quite shocked us by the force and passion she used to whip. The beguiling result is here... if you look at here closely you can see something else:
Something about that action and the air swishing though her hair just seemed to change her mood, as if she had just tossed away the weight of an the old nightmare, something thick and heavy that had been clinging to her, but suddenly it was gone. As she was hair whipping for the camera, shooter one quietly said to himself:
"Go girl, shake that boy right out of your hair..."

With what a deep devotedness of woe

Funktionide Part II
The work is based on an intensive three months research with professional partners in Germany and Switzerland into artificial muscles. It reflects upon how new technologies such as artificial muscles will change future products, and the way we interact with them.
The results of that research led to the conclusion that one day active materials will drastically change our ambient products and the way we perceive and interact with them. By morphing their shape these products will gain new dimensions. Products of the future will be "alive".
One of those future products is the so called „Funktionide“. It is a white amorphous object whose intention is to provide the owner with an atmosphere of presence to counteract feelings of loneliness. In a future filled with multi-dimensional products it is likely that people will eventually turn towards them for emotional satisfaction.
This scenario gives rise to a number of questions. What happens if products that were proposed as a relief against social isolation begin to become the solution? How will this affect human to human interactions? What will these products look like, or more important how will they behave?
The works intention is to provoke a discussion which enables us to question how much we want technological products to satisfy our emotional desires. To ask these questions will become part of the responsibility of future product design.
The ambiguity of this scenario is that it could be understood as a solution but it might as well be understood as a scenario which should be avoided by all means possible.

Free Hotel Chelsea Movie for Japan Relief www.hotelchelseamovie.com
My name is Hiro Masuda. I am a Japanese film producer in Tokyo. My country has just experienced the most devastating earthquake, Tsunami and Nuclear crisis in the country's history. It's still impossible to believe what could possibly make that happened over there. As being a Japanese citizen, I want to contribute all I can do for helping my people and country of this national crisis. However, I am not powerful enough and may not have much to contribute. Beside, all I have is this movie which I spent two years of my life to create, promote and distribute it. I know this little independent film might not make any differences. However, if there is any chance that I can contribute this film to the world in order to obtain help for my country, I want to believe the power of entertainment and give it a try for hope. So I have made my film available online for free and established this long term relief fund for Japan to have hope including contribution to Japanese NPO Ashinaga Education Fund for orphans of the disaster. Any of your support or thoughts with all victims will be sincerely appreciated. Thank you very much.
