Ideologies
FOR A SCHOOL PROJECT Your ideological position is no different from my ideological position, for, with the same vivacity and vehemence and might, there is an equalization of our ambitions, discounting the differences in our volitions. We propagate our case using the same paradigm - exploiting humanity in difficult times. Once the problem arises, we name the catalyst, a single entity, not a whole list. And of course, we are the ultimate, universal solution, and once you commit yourself to our revolution, your purpose is found, our species' virtue. And soon, when everything's solved, it will maximize your purview. Be skeptical of conventional social standards - yell the modernists in attempts to flip cultural perceptions backwards. Question everything to form your unique, subjective experience, for the war can be attributed to conservative interference. And the communists' and their uncanny obsession with equity, egalitarianism, and your alignment with collective humanity. Support the proletariat! shout Engels and Marx. All of these problems are simply consequences of capitalism and your lack of a heart. And don't forget the oppression that our nation has seen, or the moral decay that must be legislatively demeaned. Violence and discipline and a totalitarian state! Are the standards set forth by the nature of which Mussolini dictates. Thesis: Ideologies gain popularity by giving the population a sense of purpose and a seemingly universal solution to their problems - all ...

Billy Bragg - Ideology
When one voice rules the nation Just because they're top of the pile Doesn't mean their vision is the clearest The voices of the people Are falling on deaf ears Our politicians all become careerists They must declare their interests But not their company cars Is there more to a seat in parliament Than sitting on your arse And the best of all this bad bunch Is shouting to be heard Above the sound of ideologies clashing Outside the patient millions Who put them into power Expect a little more back for their taxes Like school books, beds in hospitals And peace in our bloody time All they get is old men grinding axes Who've built their private fortunes On the things they can rely The courts, the secret handshake The Stock Exchange and the old school tie For God and Queen and Country All things they justify Above the sound of ideologies clashing God bless the civil service The nations saving grace While we expect democracy They're laughing in our face And although our cries get louder The laughter gets louder still Above the sound of ideologies clashing Above the sound of ideologies, Above the sound of ideologies, Above the sound of ideologies clashing

Documentary - Ideologies - The World Wars (1/5)
The 20th century was the bloodiest age in all of world history. During this era, for the first time, humanity was introduced to the concept of a "world war." Taken together, World Wars I and II resulted in a total of 65 million people losing their lives. About half of these casualties were civilians who had nothing to do with these wars. Children, defenseless women and the elderly alike were massacred cruelly. So, one might ask, how did the world find itself in the midst of such colossal insanity? www.harunyahya.com

Clash of ideologies mars Cairo protests
Friday was meant to symbolise a day of unity in Egypt's Tahrir Square. Instead, it turned into a show of disunity between the country's different political groups. Liberals opted out of the protests, accusing the Islamic parties of betrayal, and of hijacking their revolution. While the speeches in Tahrir Square talked of solidarity with the Liberals, the views of some in the crowd were far from moderate. Al Jazeera's Sue Turton reports from Cairo.

Aasim Sajjad: Anti India Pak Ideology
Aasim Sajjad - Professor of History at the prestigious Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) - discusses the anti-India state ideology of Pakistan. He explains how: (a) the country does not have an ideology that can stand on its own and its ideology is only a negation of India; (b) "threat from India" has been deliberately exaggerated by Pak Establishment to protect its interests; (c) anti-India ideology and associated massive defense spending was approved by a Constituent Assembly whose members were not representative of the territory that became Pakistan; (d) there is a contradiction in national narrative in that after Partition, Pakistan remains just as obsessed with "Hindu India"; (e) wars over border disputes do not mean that one country wants to obliterate or annex the other; (f) contrary to official propaganda, India had a minor role in the Bengali nationalist movement that led to breakup of East Pakistan; (g) India never disrupted water flow into Pakistan and later executed the Indus Water Treaty; (h) nuclear weapons have increased the overall threat level between the two countries as opposed to diminishing it; (i) Kashmir dispute has national importance for both India and Pak as it involves their national ideologies; (j) growing number of Pakistanis are beginning to realize that the enmity with India has been more harmful than beneficial; and (k) peace with India would not be possible as long as Pakistan continues to harbor proxy warriors. Fascism: A Leftist Ideology
Despite the myth that fascism, one of the two biggest government ideologies, would be on the fringe of the right while the right wing calls for small government and individualism (and the fringe calls for no government), fascism is a leftist ideology and only conservative in the classical sense. But in the classical sense modern day *HUGE* government liberals would be conservatives and modern day conservatives would be classical liberals. Brought ot you by: myworld.ebay.com

Communism, Fascism and Nazism Ideologies Explained - Eric Thompson
Brilliant interview of Eric Thompson by Dr. Herbert Poinsett, as Eric explains the differences between Communism, Fascism and Nazism ideologies. A very informative 30 minute interview. Eric provides a good historical analysis of each and explains how international bankers through their privately owned central banks (Federal Reserve, Bank of Canada, Bank of England, Bank of Germany) and corrupt governments are issuing interest based (ie debt based) money that is robbing the people of nations blind. Eric's explanation is very much in line with the research that Eustace Mullins has produced over the years.

Post-recession Ideologies: it's the politics, stupid!
Speakers: Professor Frank Furedi; Professor Andrew Gamble; Professor Gareth Stedman-Jones The crisis and global economic downturn have cast doubt on capitalisms capacity to produce wealth. This ought to raise crucial social and political questions as well as economic ones, but there seems to be a dearth of ideas about how to confront the future. Despite alarming recession forecasts, politicians seem incapable of providing convincing answers to the big questions. While the massive bailout of the financial sector marks a break from the days of supposed small government and deregulation, this has not led to serious public debate about alternatives. The economy is presented as something beyond the realm of politics, and over which we, the people, have little control. State spending may well be substantially reduced, and painful cuts in living standards are likely to be felt across the world. Some say conditions of austerity will usher in a new social cohesion by encouraging a return to shared values; others that we will finally accept the environmentalist mantra that less is more. But do these ideas only signal the detachment of a prosperous few from the real concerns of the rest of society? Nostalgics see in the crisis the rebirth of class politics. But apart from isolated wildcat strikes, the popular response so far has been confined to moral outrage. Every day, greedy bankers and capitalism-gone-mad are blamed for it all, but trust in politicians and the institutions of ...

Peter Sunde about Flattr Social Micro Donations
Talk by Peter Sunde at re:publica 2010 about "Flattr Social Micro Donations". Description: "Flattr experiments with a new way on taking on the long lasting question - how will people make money on the internet? Theres always been a lot of talk on how people will make money on what they create on the internet. The focus of these discussions has always been how to compensate for previous losses that occurs in the paradigm shift to the Internet. Flattr tries to tackle this problem in another way why shouldnt everybody have the possibility to be compensated or paid for content? And why is everything easier on the internet than in the offline world, except payments? Previous spokes person for The Pirate Bay, Peter Sunde Kolmisoppi, gives his story on why he created Flattr and how he believes this experiment may benefit art and culture."
