Jun Aoyama (青山 隼, Aoyama Jun?, born 3 January 1988 in Sendai, Japan) is a Japanese footballer who plays for Urawa Red Diamonds in the J. League. He is a mid-fielder on the U-20 Japanese national teamplaying at the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup. He scored a goal for Japan in the 79' minute in Japan's win against Scotland (3-1) at the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup, Group F, in Victoria, B.C., Canada July 1, 2007.
Thelma Aoyama (青山 テルマ, Aoyama Teruma?), born October 27, 1987, is a Japanese pop and R&B singer. She is part Afro-Trinidadian and Japanese.
She is probably best known for her collaboration song with SoulJa, "Koko ni Iru yo", and her answer song "Soba ni Iru ne". In September 2008, the Guinness World Records certified that "Soba ni Iru ne" became the best-selling digital download single in Japan with over two million "full-track" downloads (Chaku Uta Full). However, the record of the Guinness World Records was replaced by Greeeen's song "Kiseki" in June 2009. Including various forms of digital downloads, it sold over 8.7 million downloads by November 2008.
She spent six years at Osaka International School as an elementary school student. At age 12, her family moved to Torrance, California, where she lived for two years and attended Calle Mayor Middle School. She returned to Japan in the winter of 2002, settling in Tokyo. Aoyama attended the American School in Japan. As of 2010, she is a student at Sophia University.
Amy Yip (Chinese: 葉子楣; pinyin: Yè Zǐmèi; born 10 July 1965 in Hong Kong) is an actress who was one of the leading sex symbols of Hong Kong cinema in the late 1980s and early 1990s. She has family roots in Taishan, Guangdong.[citation needed]
Amy Yip is best known for her roles in Hong Kong Category III films such as Sex and Zen and Erotic Ghost Story. The movie Sex and Zen is also the highest grossing Category III movie in the history of Hong Kong box office.
Yip first came to notice by appearing in various television series' in the mid-1980s. Erotic Ghost Story in 1987 proved to be a breakthrough role and she became one of the most popular actresses in Hong Kong and many other parts of Asia in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
She retired from acting in 1992. She expressed regret that, given the nature of her films, there were not many memorable roles during her acting career. The only exceptional movie for her was the 1991 movie Queen of the Underworld which she portrayed Sister Har, a woman who climbed from the lowest depths of society to become the celebrated queen of the night life in the 1960s and 1970s of Hong Kong.
David Wu (traditional Chinese: 吳振偉; simplified Chinese: 吴振伟; pinyin: Wú Zhènwěi; born April 8, 1955) is an American politician who served as the U.S. representative for Oregon's 1st congressional district from 1999 to 2011. He is a member of the Democratic Party.
As a child of immigrants from Taiwan, Wu was the first Chinese American and Taiwanese-American to serve in the House of Representatives. In the wake of accusations that he made unwanted sexual advances on the teenage daughter of a campaign donor and friend, Wu announced that he would resign from office following resolution of the debt ceiling crisis; he submitted his resignation on August 3, 2011. A special election was held on January 31, 2012, to fill the vacancy in advance of the regular 2012 election. Democrat Suzanne Bonamici defeated Republican challenger Rob Cornilles to win this special election.
Wu was born in Hsinchu, Taiwan. His parents were from Suzhou in Jiangsu province in China and settled in Taiwan due to the Chinese Civil War. The family moved to the United States in 1961. Wu spent his first two years in the U.S. in Latham, New York, where his family were the only Asian Americans in town.
