Ergun Caner v. James White on Calvinism (Radio Free Geneva)
This is the first episode of Radio Free Geneva that has been put on Youtube. The purpose of RFG is to dispel the many caricatures, straw men, and misrepresentations that those who are opposed to Reformed Theology (ie. Calvinism) normally make when critiquing the other side. Lord willing, there will be more in the future that deal with different subjects. Ergun Caner delivered a sermon a few years ago called "Why I am Predestined Not to be a Hyper-Calvinist." However, many Reformed folk thought the sermon would have been more aptly titled "Why I am Not Predestined to Represent the Side I am Critiquing Accurately." In this episode of Radio Free Geneva, James White deals with the many straw men and mischaracterizations that Ergun Caner promoted during this sermon and rectifies them. This episode is especially helpful because many of the arguments Caner brought up are many of the same that are brought up regularly by opponents of the doctrines of grace. Hitler & Calvinism
A satirical video about Calvinism and Adolf Hitler, that teaches some truth. Anyone who has dealt with Calvinism or Calvinists should be able to relate. It is a video clip from a movie called, "The Downfall". This video is protected under fair use and the owners of the clip have allowed it under the conditions of putting an advertisement on it. That's why there is an advertisement. THIS IS SATIRE! If you want a Biblical Response to Calvinism, watch the rest of my videos! This video has NOTHING to do with whether Hitler was a Calvinist or not. I can't believe Calvinists actually thought that was what I was trying to do! This video portrays portrays Consistent Calvinism AT ITS WORST: Sinners having excuses for sinning, "god" ordaining ALL things whatsoever comes to pass (including sin) for "his glory", "god" being the author of sin (whether you want to admit it or not), Christ not dying for all people, seeing the Bible through the eyes of "pet theologians" instead of reading it for yourself, reading the theological works of men more than the Bible, wanting theological opponents to be dead instead of dealing with their arguments from Scripture, "god" wanting most people to go to Hell, "god" choosing who will go into the Kingdom, people not having true free will (instead they have the farce of "free will" that Calvinism believes in), etc. All of that IS Consistent Calvinism, whether you want to admit it or not. And many of you Calvinists believe in this UNBIBLICAL NONSENSE ...

How to defeat Calvinism
Are you sick of Calvinism creeping into our orthodox 21st century, contemporary, modern Christian church? Here are some various tips you can use to destroy the satanic lie of sovereign grace (Calvinism) Comment Approval System - Any comment which makes assertions or creates strawmen of Calvinism will not be approved. Assertions are meaningless and usually emotion-driven, and strawmen are just plain ole logical fallacies which makes them worthless. I'm tired of having to correct strawmen. If you want to debate Calvinism, at least learn what it actually is. Stop learning about Calvinism from fellow anti-Calvinists, as they consistently get it wrong. I will no longer allow comments that are strawmen of Calvinism, because this video is not about your strawman of Calvinism, but actual, historical, Biblical Calvinism. If you want to learn what actual Calvinism is, and not what some commenters below have imagined it to be, I would recommend the following: Predestination video teaching series in Ligonier.org Chosen by God video teaching series on Ligonier.org The Five Points of Calvinism: Defined, Defended, and Documented by David Steele The Sovereignty of God by AW Pink Any number of great teachings from AOMIN.org The Reformed Doctrine of Predestination by Lorraine Boettner

WESTBORO BAPTIST CHURCH - WORLD'S MOST INFAMOUS CALVINISTS (1 of 8)
"Goin' By The Book" Johnny Cash www.youtube.com God loves you for you. "What Love really means" www.youtube.com This is a TV documentary written and presented by the BBC's Louis Theroux called "The Most Hated Family in America" about the Phelps family, at the heart of the Westboro Baptist Church. Isaiah 8:20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them. Fred Waldron Phelps, Sr. (born November 13, 1929) is an American pastor of the Westboro Baptist Church (WBC), an independent Baptist church based in Topeka, Kansas. His church is monitored as a hate group by the Anti-Defamation League and Southern Poverty Law Center. He is a disbarred lawyer, founder of the Phelps Chartered law firm and previous candidate for political office and was a civil rights activist in Kansas. He and his daughter, Shirley Phelps-Roper, are banned from entering the United Kingdom. He and his family are notorious for their anti-gay protests, claiming that most natural disasters and terrorist attacks are God's punishment for a society that tolerates homosexuality. Phelps says he is an old school Baptist, and holds to all five points of Calvinism. Phelps particularly highlights John Calvin's doctrine of unconditional election, the belief that God has elected certain people for salvation before birth, and limited atonement, the belief that Christ only died for the elect, and condemns those who believe otherwise. 1 Timothy 4:10 Destroys Calvinism Hands Down!
1 Tim. 4.10 says "God is the Savior of all men, specially those who believe." Christians interpret this to mean God provides the opportunity for salvation to everyone (unlimited atonement), since Jesus died on the cross for the sins of the whole world. Therefore, it is specially those who believe because they receive salvation/regeneration. This verse would not make much sense the way Calvinists read it. They say "God is the Savior of all [kinds of] men [from different places], specially those believe." If God is the Savior of all kinds of men in different places, wouldn't that be nonsensically redundant to then follow up by saying "specially those who believe," for obviously all those that would be saved would believe? Other Calvinists say this verse means: "God is the Savior of all men [by faith], specially those who believe." But isn't that equally problematic since being the Savior of all men by faith, specially those who believe is again nonsensically redundant, since obviously those who have faith are saved and believe? Who are these others who don't believe who would be saved? Is Calvinism ecumenical? Calvinists can't seem to agree on how they interpret this verse. They are confused. Still another class of Calvinists believe this verse means "God is the Savior of all men [by giving them breath], specially those who believe." But the error there is why would a God save a person only by allowing them to exist, rather than saving them to the uttermost? What love is ...

WESTBORO BAPTIST CHURCH - WORLD'S MOST INFAMOUS CALVINISTS (2 of 8)
The real truth as to why the Phelps believe the way they do is @3:54. This teaching is referred to as the Five Points of Calvinism, TULIP, distort and blaspheme the true attributes of God, the true nature of man and the Holy Scriptures. The acrostic TULIP: T - Total depravity of man. U - Unconditional election. L - Limited atonement. I - Irresistible grace. P - Perseverance of the saints Basically, Calvinism teaches that man is totally depraved, and unable to receive salvation. The Calvinist assumes that man has no freewill in his coming to Christ and receiving salvation. Below are some freewill verses. Calvinism teaches that God, exercising His sovereignty, first elected and decreed certain individuals to salvation in time past. Calvinism teaches that Christ's death was not for all people, but only for the elect. God then extended "irresistible" grace to those He elected. Therefore, man had nothing to do with receiving salvation because God chose to save him and caused him to believe. There are many strong objections to Calvinism. The main objection to the teaching is that God chose to save some and chose not to save others. This contradicts the biblical teaching that Jesus Christ died and paid the sin debt of all men (1 John 2:2); and that God ". . . will have all men to be saved" (1 Tim. 2:4); and that God's nature is to love, and to seek the best for all men (1 John 4:7-8, 16). 1 John 2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the ...

What a Calvinist is -- And isn't.
I've come into a bit of opposition lately by well-meaning believers who think that because of my stance as a Calvinist, I may eventually theorise myself into having no drive to preach the gospel or encourage others in what I firmly to believe the Truth -- that Christ is redemption for all who repent and believe in his name. Rather, I hold *passionately* to this, but I do not think it is the result of man's free will. I believe that such a miracle can only come by the divine and -- in which we are, by the divine inspiration of the Holy Spirit, effective instruments for this work. I'll include a rough transcript for this video shortly. --- See also :: John Piper on "Why are Calvinists so negative?" - youtube.com Paul Washer on "What should our evangelism look like?" - youtube.com

A Defense of Calvinism (CH Spurgeon)
"The doctrine of justification itself, as preached by an Arminian, is nothing but the doctrine of salvation by works." ... - Charles Haddon Spurgeon "I do not serve the god of the Arminians at all; I have nothing to do with him, and I do not bow down before the Baal they have set up; he is not my God, nor shall he ever be; I fear him not, nor tremble at his presence...The God that saith today and denieth tomorrow, that justifieth today and condemns the next...is no relation to my God in the least degree. He may be a relation of Ashtaroth or Baal, but Jehovah never was or can be his name." ... - chs "We only use the term "Calvinism" for shortness. That doctrine which is called "Calvinism" did not spring from Calvin; we believe that it sprang from the great founder of all truth. Perhaps Calvin himself derived it mainly from the writings of Augustine. Augustine obtained his views, without doubt, through the Spirit of God, from the diligent study of the writings of Paul, and Paul received them of the Holy Ghost, from Jesus Christ, the great founder of the Christian dispensation. We use the term then, not because we impute any extraordinary importance to Calvin's having taught these doctrines. We would be just as wiling to call them by any other name, if we could find one which would be better understood, and which on the whole would be as consistent with fact." - chs You can buy a 5 volume set of Spurgeon's sermons online here: www.amazon.com Thanks to Henry Velez of www ...

"How Should Calvinists Deal with Arminians?" (James White)
How should Calvinists deal with Arminians? Is it possible to stand firm for Reformed theology without causing unnecessary offense? If you're a Calvinist now but were an Arminian before and a Calvinist caused offense against you in explaining the theology, would you have been as apt to lay hold to the doctrines of grace? Dr. James White answers a call on The Dividing Line show regarding this subject and offers some great advice. www.aomin.org The Dividing Line is a bi-weekly radio show that you can listen to live Tuesdays and Thursdays here aomin.org Here is Dr. White's Youtube page: www.youtube.com
