Battle of Albert (1918) (August 21 - 22, 1918) was the third battle by that name fought during World War I, following the First Battle of Albert, and the Second Battle of Albert, with each of the series of three being fought roughly two years apart. This smaller third battle was significant in that it was the opening push that would lead to the Second Battle of the Somme, and heavily involved the Australian Corps. This attack opened the advance, with the main attack being launched by the British Third Army, with the United States II Corps attached.

The attacks developed into an advance, which pushed the German 2nd Army back along a 50-mile (80 km) front line. On August 22, the Australian Corps took Albert, with the British and Americans advancing on Arras. On August 29, Bapaume fell into British and American hands, which resulted in an advance by the Australian Corps, who crossed the Somme River on August 31 and broke the German lines during the Battle of Mont St. Quentin. Ultimately, the overall battle resulted in the German Army being pushed back to the Hindenburg Line, from which they had launched their spring offensive.

Albert Einstein ( /ˈælbərt ˈaɪnstaɪn/; German: [ˈalbɐt ˈaɪnʃtaɪn] ( listen); 14 March 1879 – 18 April 1955) was a German theoretical physicist who developed the theory of general relativity, effecting a revolution in physics. For this achievement, Einstein is often regarded as the father of modern physics. While best known for his mass–energy equivalence formula E = mc² (which has been dubbed "the world's most famous equation"), he received the 1921 Nobel Prize in Physics "for his services to theoretical physics, and especially for his discovery of the law of the photoelectric effect". The latter was pivotal in establishing quantum theory within physics.

Near the beginning of his career, Einstein thought that Newtonian mechanics was no longer enough to reconcile the laws of classical mechanics with the laws of the electromagnetic field. This led to the development of his special theory of relativity. He realized, however, that the principle of relativity could also be extended to gravitational fields, and with his subsequent theory of gravitation in 1916, he published a paper on the general theory of relativity. He continued to deal with problems of statistical mechanics and quantum theory, which led to his explanations of particle theory and the motion of molecules. He also investigated the thermal properties of light which laid the foundation of the photon theory of light. In 1917, Einstein applied the general theory of relativity to model the structure of the universe as a whole.

Benni Korzen (b. 01/04/1938) Oscar winning Danish producer, best known for producing Babette's Feast (1987).

Born in Copenhagen, Denmark, Korzen won the Best Foreign Film Oscar for Babette's Feast in 1988. The producer also won the BAFTA Best Foreign Film award for Babette's Feast, the same year. Since moving to The United States from his native Denmark, Benni has produced, line-produced or executive produced over 20 feature films on budgets ranging from under $1 million to over $15 million solely or in partnership with Just Betzer or New York producers Rankin and Bass. In addition, Benni is the co-owner of Panorama Film International, New York and has served as the General Partner in two limited partnerships that produced 6 feature films distributed by New Line Cinema. Currently, Benni is developing two Off-Broadway hits into films, Forever Plaid, the musical written by Stuart Ross, and Beau Jest, the stage play written by James A. Sherman.

He is married to actress Annie Korzen and has one child, Jonathan, who is a graduate of Bard College, and is currently working in Internet publishing.

Albert Ball VC, DSO & Two Bars, MC (14 August 1896 – 7 May 1917) was an English fighter pilot of the First World War and a recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest decoration for gallantry "in the face of the enemy" that can be awarded to members of the British or Commonwealth armed forces. At the time of his death he was, with forty-four victories, the United Kingdom's leading flying ace, and remained its fourth-highest scorer behind Edward Mannock, James McCudden, and George McElroy. Raised in Nottingham, Ball joined the Sherwood Foresters at the outbreak of the First World War and was commissioned as a second lieutenant in October 1914. He learnt to fly in his spare time and gained his pilot's licence in October 1915. Transferred to the Royal Flying Corps (RFC), he undertook training at Central Flying School, where he was awarded his wings on 26 January 1916.

In February 1916, Ball joined No. 13 Squadron RFC in France, flying reconnaissance missions before being posted in May to No. 11 Squadron, a fighter unit. From then until his return to England on leave in October, he accrued many aerial victories, earning two Distinguished Service Orders and the Military Cross. He became the first British fighter ace to capture the public's imagination. During his rest period he became engaged, but was soon anxious for a return to action. He was posted to No. 56 Squadron, which deployed to the Western Front in April 1917. Ball continued his record of victories until his final flight on 7 May 1917. Throughout his flying service he was primarily a "lone-wolf" pilot, carefully stalking his prey from below until he drew close enough to use his top-wing Lewis gun on its Foster mounting, angled to fire upwards into the enemy's fuselage. According to fellow ace and Victoria Cross recipient James McCudden, "it was quite a work of art to pull this gun down and shoot upwards, and at the same time manage one's machine accurately".
