Bihar
Bihar (/bɨˈhɑr/, pronounced [bɪˈɦaːr] ( listen)) is a state in eastern India. It is the 12th largest state in terms of geographical size at 38,202 sq mi (98,940 km²) and 3rd largest by population. Almost 58% of Biharis are below the age of 25, which is the highest proportion in India.
Bihar lies mid-way between West Bengal in the east and Uttar Pradesh in the west. It is bounded by the country of Nepal to the north and by Jharkhand to the south. The Bihar plain is divided into two parts by the river Ganges which flows through the middle from west to east. Bihar has notified forest area of 6,764.14 km², which is 6.8% of its geographical area. Hindi and Urdu are the official languages of the state, while the majority of the people speak Angika, Bhojpuri, Magadhi, Maithili and Bajjika. In 2000, Bihar was divided into 2 parts, the Southern part known as Jharkhand.
Ancient Bihar (which consisted of Anga, Videha/Mithila, Magadha and Vajji/Vrijji) was a centre of power, learning and culture in ancient and classical India. Out of five "The Greats" from India, four greats belonged to this region of India, Magadh: Chandragupta Maurya, Ashoka, Samudragupta and Vikramaditya. From Magadha arose India's first and greatest empire, the Maurya empire as well as one of the world's most widely adhered-to religions, Buddhism. Magadha empires, notably under the Maurya and Gupta dynasties, unified large parts of South Asia under a central rule. Its capital Patna, earlier known as Pataliputra, was an important centre of Indian civilization.Nalanda and Vikramshila were centres of learning established in the 5th and 8th century respectively in Bihar, and are counted amongst the oldest and truly international universities, where people all over the world came to study. Bihar has distinction of giving the world its first democracy through Lichchivi (modern days Vaishali) during ancient era.

Muzaffarpur is one of the largest commercial and educational centres of Mithila. It is famous for litchis which is a fruit famous for its juicy taste. Muzaffarpur is an administrative district in the state of Bihar in India. The district headquarters are located at Muzaffarpur. The district occupies an area of 3173 km² and has a population of 3,743,836 (as of 2001). Mark Twain, while on way to Kathmandu, stayed in the local Muzaffarpur Club and relished this beautiful East Indian town.
As of 2011 it is the third most populous district of Bihar (out of 39), after Patna and East Champaran.
Muzaffarpur district was created in 1875 for the sake of administrative convenience by splitting up the earlier district of Tirhut. The present district of Muzaffarpur came to its existence in the 18th century and named after Muzaffar Khan, an Amil (Revenue Officer) under British Dynasty. Purbi Champaran and Sitamarhi districts on North, on the South Vaishali and Saran districts, on the East Darbhanga and Samastipur districts and on the West Saran and Gopalganj districts surround Muzaffarpur.

Bajjika or Vajjika (Maithili:বজ্জিকা Hindiवज्जिका) is an Indian language spoken by about eleven million people^[1], mainly in the western part of Muzaffarpur District, Vaishali, East Champaran and West Champaran districts of Bihar and about eight hundred thousand people in the adjacent regions of Nepal.

The language is widely spoken in the Western part of Mithila region.^[2] It is similar to Maithili and Angika.^[3] Sources such as CIIS and The Ethnologue regard it as a dialect of Maithili language.^[4]^[5] However, in the 21st century, there have been claims for an independent status for the language within the same family of Bihari languages.^[6]

But, they were categorized as Maithili Films, as no clear border exists between Bajjika Maithili and Standard Maithili.

Sharda Sinha (born October 9, 1952) is a folk-singer and music teacher from Samastipur, Bihar. .^[1]

Background [link]

Sharda Sinha sings Maithili and Bhojpuri songs, has received Padma Shri for her contribution to music. Prayag Sangeet Samiti organised Basant Mahotsava at Prayag where Padma Shri Sharda Sinha presented numerous songs based on the theme of spring season,^[2] where the advent of spring was narrated through folk songs.^[2] She regularly performs during Durga Puja festivities.^[3]^[4] She performed when the Prime Minister of Mauritius Navin Ramgoolam came to, Bihar.^[5] She has sung in many movies such as Maine Pyar Kiya and Hum Aapke Hain Kaun and has also produced several music albums such as Dulhin, Pirittiya and Mehndi. Bihar 'kokila' Sharda Sinha performed at Pragati Maidan in the Bihar Utsav, 2010, New Delhi.^[6] Sinha started the programme with her patriotic song "Maiya bharti pukarela jawan babua tora hathawa mein deshwa ke shaan babuwa". Her other songs, included "Paniya ke jahaj se paltaniya bani ahiya piya lele ahiya ho sindurwa Bengal Ke," "Kahe to se sajani hamaar jogiya," "Sutal chaliya baba ke bhawanwa," "Sun ho pardesia," "Sasuji se lutri," "Apna sajaniya ke" and "Dulhin dhire dhire chalio." ^[6]

She has one son and one daughter. Son Ashu is a Web Designer and daughter Vandana is married to Sanju Kumar, Vice President (Legal), Yes Bank and lives in New Delhi with her three-year-old daughter Anushka.

Sharda Sinha's all songs are very entertaining and heart touching but her most popular songs is "Patna Se Baida Bulai Da"
