Shine

Shine is the new website for women that helps you stay on top of your time constrained lives with engaging editorial that features a smart, conversational voice and content from the best writers and bloggers in women’s publishing. The site will allow you to easily share content and contribute your perspective by commenting or creating your own blog.

You must be signed into the Yahoo! Network in order to provide content on Shine.

Information Collection and Use

  • You may provide content and information on Shine including comments, blog entries, photos and profile information.
  • When providing content you will have the option to provide a name and image that will be displayed publicly in association with your content.
    • Your name and image will link to your Shine profile.
    • The name and display image you provide on Shine may be associated with your other content and profiles across the Yahoo! Network.
  • When you subscribe to another Shine user’s blog using the ‘Subscribe to This Blog’ feature, you will receive updates in the ‘Updates from My Subscriptions’ section of “My Stuff” whenever that user has posted a new blog entry.
    • To learn how to manage your subscriptions, please refer to the ‘Ability to Update or Delete Information’ section below.
  • When you send content to others using the ‘email to a friend’ feature, you will be required to provide certain contact information about you and the intended recipient(s).
    • Yahoo! does not collect or use the information you provide when using these features for marketing purposes.

Information Sharing and Disclosure

  • By default, the content and information you provide on Shine will be displayed publicly in association with your name and display image.
    • This content and information may also be displayed publicly across the Yahoo! Network and on third party sites via API’s.
  • When posting a blog entry you may submit your post to ‘only my blog’ or you can choose to submit it to a Shine channel (e.g. Health + Beauty, Healthy Living, etc..)
    • Posting your blog entry to ‘only my blog’ means that your post will be displayed publicly on your Shine blog.
    • Posting your blog entry to a Shine channel means that your post will be displayed publicly on your Shine blog and may also be featured on the Shine channel that you selected.
  • If someone has subscribed to your blog using the ‘subscribe to this blog’ feature, they will receive updates in the ‘Updates from My Subscriptions’ section on their “My Stuff” page whenever you post a new blog entry on Shine.

Your Ability to Update or Delete Information

  • To edit or delete a blog entry you have posted, please visit ‘Manage your Blog on Shine.’
  • To update your name, display image, profile information and subscriptions, please visit ‘My Shine.’
