Softeco Sismat - PERSONALBUS® - Demand Responsive Transport (DRT) services in urban areas
PERSONALBUS® solutions are used for the planning, dispatch and administration of flexible, collective Demand Responsive Transport (DRT) services in urban areas, peri-urban and extra-urban environments, large cities and small towns, rural zones and Mountain Community transport. PERSONALBUS® modularity allows transport service providers to set up a Travel Dispatch Centre implementing only the system functionalities and resources required by the particular transport problem addressed. This helps keeping under control the costs related to both the initial investment and service operation. The configurability of PERSONALBUS® system enables the service provider to size and tailor the transport service in relation to the actual demand in the served area. The service network model (road trunks, turnings, passengers stops, etc.) and the DRT fleet definition (number of vehicles, types, time availability, etc.) can be modified at any time following any need of change and expansion as service operations are progressing. The architectural adaptability of PERSONALBUS® allows operating in a single-user or multi-user mode, implementing the Travel Dispatch Centre on a single Personal Computer or on a multi-server distributed architecture.

Urban Regeneration in Bradford City Centre - 9th June, 2012 (1080 HD)
Bradford lies at the heart of the City of Bradford, a metropolitan borough of West Yorkshire, in Northern England. It is situated in the foothills of the Pennines, 8.6 miles (13.8 km) west of Leeds, and 16 miles (25.7 km) northwest of Wakefield. Bradford became a municipal borough in 1847, and received its charter as a city in 1897. Following local government reform in 1974, city status was bestowed upon the wider metropolitan borough. Bradford has a population of 293717, making it the fourteenth-most populous settlement in the United Kingdom. Bradford forms part of the West Yorkshire Urban Area conurbation which in 2001 had a population of 1.5 million and is part of the Leeds-Bradford Larger Urban Zone (LUZ), the third largest in the UK after London and Manchester, with an estimated population in the 2004 Urban Audit of 2.4 million. Historically a part of the West Riding of Yorkshire, Bradford rose to prominence during the 19th century as an international centre of textile manufacture, particularly wool. It was a boomtown of the Industrial Revolution, and amongst the earliest industrialised settlements, rapidly becoming the "wool capital of the world". The area's access to a supply of coal, iron ore and soft water facilitated the growth of Bradford's manufacturing base, which, as textile manufacture grew, led to an explosion in population and was a stimulus to civic investment; Bradford has fine Victorian architecture including the grand Italianate City Hall. The textile ...

Frankfurt
Frankfurt am Main, commonly known simply as Frankfurt, is the largest city in the German state of Hesse and the fifth-largest city in Germany, with a 2008 population of 670000. The urban area had an estimated population of 2.26 million in 2001. The city is at the centre of the larger Frankfurt/Rhine-Main Metropolitan Region which has a population of 5.3 million and is Germany's second largest metropolitan area. In English, this city's name translates to "Frankfurt on the Main" (pronounced like English mine or German mein). The city is located on an ancient ford on the river Main, the German word for which is "Furt". A part of early Franconia, the inhabitants were the early Franks. Thus the city's name receives its legacy as being the "ford of the Franks". Situated on the Main River, Frankfurt is the financial and transportation centre of Germany and the largest financial centre in continental Europe. It is seat of the European Central Bank, the German Federal Bank, the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and the Frankfurt Trade Fair, as well as several large commercial banks. Woodbury Lions Club hosting American Red Cross blood drives
Blood Drives in Cannon County for over 60 years. {{more}}
It has been said that the Lions Club drives are the best in the Tennessee Valley Region Blood Services area, which includes all of Tennessee, parts of Kentucky, and Alabama.
The extra effort put forth by the Lions Club has little to do with it. The Woodbury Lions Club has a committee of members that work together to help insure that everything runs smoothly, along with community volunteers who like to help out.
Some of the volunteers have more experience working with blood drives that the actual Red Cross staff who go out daily working with blood drives within the area.
Committee chairmen’s Patsy and Carl Hirlston and Bobby Bogard with committee members Ken and Artie Jean McIntyre, Lois Larimer, Clyde Thomas, Nolan Northcutt, Robert Jennings, Charlie Brown, Clyde and Kitty Bush, Chris Brushaber, Danny Miller, Cliff Swoape, Andy Jacobs, Doug Combs, and Gina Mitchell, all work together along with community volunteers of Bessie Miller, Orval and Esther Gray, Juanita Burks, Cathey Parker, Betty Harder, Shirley Borren, Jane Jennings, Grace Young, Nile Young, Della Young, Robert Young, Kay Campbell, Carol Davenport, Bobbie Henline, Jim Henline, Betty Paschal, Ann Todd, Mary Sue Vinson, and Mary Nelle Hillis too create a professional staff that assist members of the American Red Cross staff.
The Lions Club assigns a task of greeting donors and signing them in, handing out water and assigning donors with a number.
Copies of the Cannon Courier are provided for donors to read before or after their donation.
Red Cross provides snacks and the Woodbury Lions Club has additional snacks such as: a one-of-a-kind trail mix, peanut butter and crackers, baloney and crackers, and cheese and crackers.
A staff works in the canteen area who assist the donors after they have donated by getting them a drink of juice, water, soda, or coffee and then sitting with them and talking. They also watch the donor to see if the donors face color changes or if their arm starts bleeding from where the donor had given blood.
Woodbury Club also keeps records of each donation and awards donors with pins and Certificates when completing gallon donations. Along with taking pictures of donors receiving awards and being pinned with a gallon donation pin, plus having members of the Lions Club calling and reminding donors of upcoming blood drives also adds a little bit more to why Cannon County Blood Drives are better and produces more regular donors than other areas which has a larger population.
Woodbury Lions Club host six blood drives a year, always the third Thursday in January, March, May, July, September, and November. Each blood drive is noon until six pm except May’s drive, which runs from 9 am until 6 pm. May’s blood drive is a donor appreciation drive, and most of the businesses in Cannon County donate door prizes.
In the last five to six years, each donor was able to win three of four items because of the generosity of the businesses and their support of the Lions Club and wanting to reward the true everyday heroes of Cannon County, those who give of themselves to help save the lives of others. In most cases, they are saving the lives of people who they do not know.
On May 20th, 2010 the following businesses provided door prizes for the heroes of Cannon County: A Touch of Home Flower’s & Gifts, Arts Center of Cannon County, Auto Zone, Birdsong Adhesives, Boyd’s Garage, Briar Rose Flowers and Gifts, Bromley/Jennings Automotive, Cannon County Chiropractic, Cannon Market, Captain D’s, CareAll, Cell Plus, Coco Tan & Spa, Chilangoes Mexican Restaurant, Curves, Cutting Edge Hair Salon, D J’s Pizza and Steakhouse, Family Dentistry Deason & Bucher, Farm Bureau Insurance, First National Bank, Flower Occasions, Gina’s Boutique, Hardee’s, Hayes Bros Auto Care, Hibdon’s Body Shop, Higgins Car Wash, J P’s Fine Swine Bar-B-Que, Jennings Jewelers, Joe’s Place, Legendary Cuts, Lightwriters Photography, Lions Pizza Den, The Millennium Hair Salon, Moonlite Drive-In, NAPA, The Old Feed Store, One Stop Market, Parsley’s Market & Deli, Paul Reed’s Furniture, Paul’s Auto Service, Piggly Wiggly, Potter’s Ace Hardware, Quick Shop Market, Reed’s Building Supply, Regions Bank, Roger Hindman Body Shop, Scavenger Hunt Flea Market, Scavenger Hunt Trading Post, The Scoreboard, Shirt Shack, Shotgun County Pawn & Gun, Smitty Tire Shop, Stewart’s Printing, Stone Gait Tack and Feed, Subway, West End Tobacco Store, Woodbury Auto Express, Woodbury Insurance Agency, and Woodbury Lawn & Garden. Every donor and volunteer received a promotional ink pen from DTC, a pillbox from Middle Tennessee Electric Membership Cooperation, Chap Stick from FirstBank, a value meal card from Sonic, and a 3 pound bag of stone ground corn meal from The Readyville Mill.

OPEN ARCHIVE #2 // Exhibition // Walking the Hinterland
3 November - 11 December 2010 @ ARGOS // Wednesday to Saturday // 12:00 - 19:00
'Walking the Hinterland' considers the ways in which contemporary art responds to geographical non-spaces, those ’suspended spaces’ within or bordering on delimited urban zones, through the work of eight artists for whom walking is also a creative act. Over the course of the late 20th century, ’hinterland’ (originating from the Middle High German ’hinter’, meaning ’beyond’) has gradually taken on a modified interpretation, no longer used in the strict geographical sense of land directly adjacent to and inland from a coast, or a region remote from urban areas. The word now embodies the idea of a place, an era or an aspect of life considered as lacking in spiritual, aesthetic or other humanising qualities; a vacuum; a cultural wasteland. Wastelands, ’zone blanches’ as described by Philippe Vasset in Un Livre blanc, (Editions Fayard, 2007) are areas that have been left white or uncoloured on maps. They are free zones, no man’s land – both politically and socially – streets of “sub-primed” houses, or quite simply suburbs of warehouses or mega shopping complexes surrounded by far larger asphalted spaces given over to parking. In the vein of contemporary literary flaneurs like Iain Sinclair or W.G. Sebald, the works presented are the audiovisual results of artists striding the underbelly of urban spaces around the world. Mapping, photographing, sketching, recording sound and images, performing, retracing their steps again and again in order to permeate themselves in these environments which, even if they often exude an air of desolation or hostility, are the essence of urban regeneration.

SwingScape aka PIXLSWING
The aesthetics of the installation emphasizes the gap between the cold winter and the interactive and playful space, which the installation provides.
The objective for making this installation was among others to bring people together in the public outdoor space, during the time of the year where the urban space usually is left void. The SwingScape was designed and realized in relation to a winter festival in February 2010 in Roskilde, Denmark. With the overarching theme “light and sound”.
This provided us with a range of unsolved questions. How can we make an active substitute to e.g. ice skating in February? How can we make a collaborative installation, which brings to citizens together? How can we unite audio and visual experience in an outdoor environment?
The swing-installation consists of 2 zones, which are illuminated by different colors when it swings. The lightning in this setup plays a very important role, being the colorful living scenery in an overall gray and cold city. At the same time each zone activates a part of a larger sound universe. In the blue zone varying beats are activated and in the green zone melodies are activated.

Panagiotis Voulgaris: Vessels, a floating collider.
Architecture could be the vessel of unraveling the boundaries, to convey an ethos capable of resisting to this difficult period, shaping a broader future and celebrating heterogeneity. Meeting is Architecture and architecture creates a place for meeting, becomes a message of tolerance and hope, a manner of understanding and co existing. “Vessels” is a project that aims to use an old method of moving across the land in order to shape new bonds and re awake the old links as a transparent gathering place, a microscopic building which travels at the rivers and the seas across Europe from the Aegean Sea to Danube River, from Athens to Berlin, Budapest and Vienna. A network of “Vessels” is placed in public spaces, at the banks of the rivers or at the sea and becomes a constellation of travelling places that implements a virtual map, a vast interconnected zone across the continent in a research for a humanistic, social and pedagogical ethos. This journey becomes ontological at this difficult and transitional period synonymous to the recent developments we all have experienced and this is translated in what we are today, the way we perceive our cities and their – our future. Are these people inside the “Vessels” travelers or intruders? Trapped or nomads? Immigrants who hope for the future? Are they capable of extending – communicating their spaces? Is this a manner of inhabiting? Is this a definition of space by the experience of its dis – spacement? Is this a transcultural displacement?
By crossing different cities in an architectural way of acting that focuses the interest from the build expression to the landscape, environment and societies this projects addresses broader issues related to a common language, identification and placement in the contemporary world. Shaping a contact web between people, cities and countries is a necessity, a current concern that challenges our ethics and limits by using the element of water as a contact – unifying vessel and applying a ritual procedure in a symbolic dimension. The nature of the project is ephemeral, nomadic and adaptable by emphasizing to the time continuity of the places around it and becomes an urban collider, a travelling language shaped by transitions, different places and people. It is a floating urban space in micro scale, a metamorphic site in a continual game of transformations as it is capable to transform the environment around it alongside with being changed as a reflection of it in an enigmatic dialectic. In a symbolic but crucial gesture those “Vessels” are currying – collecting different waters across Europe and travel with them in this process of making a common space, a meeting place. Future is being shaped by individuals, interconnected and interacting. Cities are “Vessels”.
The project is being documented through a large number of photographs and videos that could be presented alongside with the placement of a number of “Vessels” at the waters of Venice or/and in its public spaces. A number of “Vessels” travel or stand alone as micro-environments or they formulate a larger building around a public space in micro scale consisted of transparent spaces that contain water from different areas of Europe.
The project so far has been implemented in various locations across the Danube River and its banks in Budapest, Hungary. At public spaces such as the parliament and at the Danube River in Vienna, Austria. Also at the banks of Spree in Berlin, Germany, around the parliament and in public spaces around the government buildings and in Greece in different locations in Athens such as Plato’s Academy or the Saronic Gulf and in mainland Greece.

Frankfurt + Hauptwache : the most important meeting points in Frankfurt Main, Downtown Frankfurt HD
Hauptwache:the most important meeting point in Frankfurt am Main, Downtown Frankfurt. Frankfurt am Main, commonly known simply as Frankfurt, is the largest city in the German state of Hesse and the fifth-largest city in Germany, with a 2010 population of 688000. The urban area had an estimated population of 2295000 in 2010. The city is at the centre of the larger Frankfurt/Rhine-Main Metropolitan Region which has a population of 5600000 and is Germany's second largest metropolitan area. In English, this city's name translates to "Frankfurt on the Main" (pronounced like English mine or German mein). The city is located on an ancient ford on the river Main, the German word for which is "Furt". A part of early Franconia, the inhabitants were the early Franks. Thus the city's name reveals its legacy as being the "ford of the Franks". Frankfurt Airport is one of the world's busiest international airports, Frankfurt Central Station is one of the largest terminal stations in Europe, and the Frankfurter Kreuz (Autobahn interchange) is the most heavily used interchange in Europe. Frankfurt is the only German city listed as one of ten Alpha world cities. Frankfurt lies in ...
