Beautiful Sea Confluence-Bay of Bengal & Indian Ocean, Dhanuskodi, Rameshwaram, India [HD]
Trip Report: vivekananddisciple.blogspot.in Video shows confluence of two seas-Bay of Bengal and Indian Ocean in the Gulf of Mannar near Dhanuskodi, Rameshwaram, Tamilnadu, India. Two seas with extreme opposite characteristics- Bay of Bengal(Female) is aggressive while Indian Ocean(Male) is silent like a river. The beach at the confluence is long and wide, pristine, devoid of crowd and really breathtaking, still virgin to non religious travelers. Only noise are from the crashing waves of Bay of Bengal, one can spend hours and hours here. Dhanushkodi is 18kms from Rameshwaram town. A full fledged town used to exist here, was completely destroyed in 1964 cyclone, since then its been declared as Ghost Town. A very serene, mystic, religious, pristine and beautiful place. A must visit. 1964 Cyclone: On that night (December 22) at 23.55 hours while entering Dhanushkodi railway station, the train No.653, Pamban-Dhanushkodi Passenger, a daily regular service which left Pamban with 110 passengers and 5 railway staff, was only few hundred yards before Dhanushkodi Railway station when it was hit by a massive tidal wave. The whole train was washed away killing all 115 on board. All together over 1800 people died in the cyclonic storm. All dwelling houses and other structures in Dhanushkodi were marooned in the storm . The high tidal waves moved deep onto this island and ruined the entire town. In terms of wind velocity which touched 150 knots (277km per hour) at Vavunia in Northern ...

Waterways!! View of giant lobster, Sunderban's mangrove forest and the Bay of Bengal!!!!
Date taken: January 2012 Camera used: SONY Camcorder DCR SX45E Shifting gears from iron tracks to the mild water ways!!! On- board a jumbo double deck motorized boat. Took a ride on the same from a place called Bakkhali near Diamond Harbour, West Bengal. Situated at the banks of the Bay of Bengal, you can find the exotic mangrove forests of Sunderbans. And in the meanwhile, we come across a fisherman's boat, where you can spot them holding a giant lobster. Later they sold the lobster to a co-passenger for just Rs 50 (1 dollar)!!! At 01:43, you can find a board, where the writing is as follows (translated): "Travel the Sunderbans!! Bhagabatpur, Crocodile Project (Sanctuary), Lathian, Ganga Sagar, Jammu Dip (Island), Mahonay. Carrying capacity: 151. For contact, call 9932427911" As a matter of fact, we were heading for Jammu Dip. The three islands is situated right in the middle of the Bay of Bengal. No one is allowed to deboard on the island, as it is reserved by the forest sanctuary. Numerous number of known and unknown species of animals, birds, insects and reptiles reside on those islands. We were just made to hover around the banks of the islands in our boat. When the massive tsumani stuck in 2004, places like Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and Southern India were badly affected. But the mangrove forests acted as a barrier against the tidal waves, due to which Sunderbans were affected to the least. Here is some wonderful facts about Sunderbans ...

Max Turner & the Migrations feat. Snuggles the Bunny - Bay of Bengal Blues (Midatlantic Rmx)
The first single from the forthcoming album by 'Max Turner & the Migrations' is named "Deep beneath the soil" and features remix contributions by Cristian Vogel and Midatlantic. Originally written for Guitar and Voice this arrangement, however, incorporates Double-bass, a String-section, classical Guitar, Drums and Percussion recorded live (with overdubs) on vintage gear at a Chennai film studio called Kalasa. The Migrations are a loose cluster of musicians open to experimentation, guest performances and change of environment. Founded by Turner and drummer Eugine Yuvaraj. At present in the process of producing in various locations in South India the album release and a European tour are expected later in 2012. The remixes explore less obvious interpretations of the theme with Vogel offering a profound percussive version while mystery-man Midatlantic supplies a gritty break-beat version carved out of the original drum beat that sees a guest perfomance by Snuggles the bunny, of Puppetmastaz. www.migratory.in

SEA TURTLES DIE IN BAY OF BENGAL INDIA.mov
Dead sea turtles at Paradip sea beach ( Bay Of Bengal ) - Shocking news from Paradip at the Coastal belt of Odisha ( Bay of Bengal ): Since last week thousands of sea turtles were found dead on the shoreline. Nature Drive NDTI is planning to bury the dead sea turtles on Wednesday in the sand at the beaches. We will send two of these sea turtles to the laboratory for further investigation to find the cause of their death. On first sight it seems to be caused by unhealthy water condition like increased acid levels rather than fishing activities. Whatever the reason for this massive death might be, it is very sad news for animal lovers.
