Original Title: L'Arrivée d'un Train à la Ciotat Directors: Auguste and Louis Lumière Year: 1895 The first public exhibition of motion pictures occurred on 28th December 1895 when August Lumière and Louis Lumière (the Lumière Brothers) exhibited a selection of ten of their single-reel films to a paying audience at a Parisian cafe. 'Arrival of a Train at La Ciotat' is considered to be the first motion picture in modern history (altough more an experiment from the Lumière-brothers to use their 'invention' of film, it shows a train arriving at a passenger station). Popular legend has it that, when this film was shown, the first-night audience fled the cafe in terror, fearing being run over by the "approaching" train. Most of the cast were members of the Lumière family and employees from the Lumière factory.

The shortest little .45-70 you might ever put your hands on! The barrel is just a little over 16" in length, and it has a full length magazine. Pretty cool! I mistakenly mention in the video that the barrel is 18". I was thinking of legal shotgun barrel length, I suppose, if I was "thinking" at all. :-) The legal length for a rifle barrel is 16".

www.youtube.com www.ammunitiondepot.com http www.youtube.com I have been eyeing the Marlin 1895 for sometime and when I walked into the gun show that Sunday morning and seen one sitting right on K&W; Gun Works/ southern Yankee Guns table, I just knew it was mine. I said to myself, if this rifle is still here at the end of the day, I want it. The way the Reverend had it priced, I thought no way it will be here, it will sell for sure. I was very pleased and a little nervous at the end of the show and there She sat, just looking at me, I had to have Her, it was love at first sight. lol. I loved the stainless look of the other Marlin 1895 I had seen but the blue job on this one just goes with the beautiful colorful woood stock, it screams cowboy gun and I love cowboy guns. in this video, I just give you a show and tell a little, there will be no review until I actually put the rifle through its paces. Thats a novel idea huh. lol. I also was drawn to the 45/70 Government round, it is a beast. I know its not a perfect gun but it is mine and I will give my honest review when the time comes. I also want to let everyone know that this weekend, October 8&9 at the West Palm Beach Faiegrounds. K&W; Gun Works/ Southern Yankee Guns will be there and I will be with my partners at least on Sunday anyways. I want to also give a shout out to my good friends at ammunitiondepot.com, we are literally Cheaper than Cheaper than dirt. lol. I know some guys have a problem with the shipping costs ...

The Execution of Mary Stuart is a short film produced in 1895. The film depicts the execution of Mary, Queen of Scots. The film was produced by Thomas Edison and may have been the first film in history to used trained actors, as well as one of the first to use editing for the purposes of special effects. The film shows an uncredited, blindfolded actress (playing Mary) being led to the execution block. The executioner raises his axe and an edit occurs during which the actress is replaced by a mannequin. The mannequin's head is chopped off and the executioner holds it in the air as the film ends.

Allegro Spiritoso - 29:44 Paul Abraham Dukas (1 October 1865 -- 17 May 1935) was a French composer, critic, scholar and teacher. A studious man, of retiring personality, he was intensely self-critical, and he abandoned and destroyed many of his compositions. His best known work is the orchestral piece, L'apprenti sorcier (The Sorcerer's Apprentice), the fame of which has eclipsed that of his other surviving works. Among these are an opera Ariane et Barbe-bleue (Ariadne and Bluebeard), a symphony, two substantial works for solo piano, and a ballet, La Péri. The Symphony in C major was composed in 1895--96, when Dukas was in his early 30s. It is dedicated to Paul Vidal, and had its first performance in January 1896, under the direction of the dedicatee. In a study of Dukas published towards the end of the composer's life, Irving Schwerké wrote, "The work ... is an opulent expression of modernism in classical form. Its ideational luxuriance, nobility of utterance and architectural solidity mark it as one of the most conspicuous achievements of contemporaneous writing, and magnificently refute the generally prevalent notion that no French composer has ever produced a great symphony."
