Thom Hartmann: The Cancer of Infotainment & Murdoch Pseudo-news
Perhaps the most dangerous monopoly there is...is a media monopoly. Today - the UK is finding that lesson out the hard way. And it's a lesson we here in America need to take note of - because we're headed down the same road. Let's start with Italy though - a place where the power of a media monopoly is on display for the entire world to see with Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi. Berlusconi started out as a cruise boat lounge singer and small-time hustler. But then he bought a newspaper, then a small television station - and then a radio station - then another TV station - then a newspaper - then another radio station - then another TV station - then another newspaper - then a radio network - then a TV network - and suddenly Berlusconi ended up owning about 95 percent of the media seen in Italy. And with control of the information in Italy - Berlusconi jumped into politics and wouldn't you know it - he ended up being the Prime Minister of Italy. And despite the fact that Berlusconi has since been accused of everything from tax fraud - to false accounting - to corruption - to bribery - to perjury - to mafia collusion - to aiding terrorist organization - and most recently to participating in sex parties with underage prostitutes - Berlusconi is still in power as Prime Minister. He's the one of the most corrupt politicians in the world - and has overseen Italy's freedom of the press downgraded from "free" like the rest of Europe and the developed world - to only "partly-free ...

Cadillac unveils new CUE infotainment system
Cadillac has unveiled its new in-car infotainment/connectivity system called CUE. CUE stands for Cadillac User Experience and features an 8-inch touch-screen with only four buttons to operate it, keeping things simple, according to Cadillac. Features of the technology include Bluetooth connectivity for many hand-held devices as well as natural voice recognition. New users can choose a simpler set-up for the CUE or a fully connected "super user" configuration. There's also a new technology called proximity sensing which displays buttons on the screen as it senses a hand approaching the touch-screen. CUE runs on a Linux operating system for greater stability. The CUE system will debut next year in the Cadillac XTS and will also be offered in the 2013 ATS sedan and the next SRX crossover.

Cadillac CUE Infotainment System -- Car Video Review of the Cadillac User Experience
The Cadillac CUE stands for Cadillac User Experience and it is the next generation data and entertainment control system that will be featured in new Cadillac vehicles like the ATS, XTS, and 2013 SRX. This latest generation of infotainment adds connectivity and user interface into one easy to manage system. The CUE will be the centerpiece of all future Cadillac interiors. With CUE the operator will be able to control various applications including audio, phone, navigation, heating, and air conditioning systems. The home screen is nicely integrated into the dash and features a large 8-inch LCD touch screen. The screen also provides something called tactile feedback which is essentially a pulse that is returned when you touch a button. The storage bin located behind the control panel allows you to plugin in your mobile phone which is then operated via Bluetooth through the CUE system. As an additional option, the 12.3 LCD gauge cluster will replace the regular analog gauges like speedometer and tachometer with a full customizable set of data readouts. There are 4 different screen layouts that mix the vehicle data you choose. On the steering wheel there are integrated controls to manage the LCD gauge cluster, any apps, or practically any system the CUE manages. The Cadillac CUE system operated like a smart phone or tablet in many ways. You can download various applications that can be integrated within the CUE interface. All the favorites are included like Pandora, Sirius XM ...

Cadillac CUE Infotainment System for XTS ATS SRX demo
www.gearlive.com - In this episode we give you a look at the Cadillac User Experience, also known as Cadillac CUE. This is the new infotainment system that you can expect to find in the upcoming Cadillac XTS and Cadillac SRX as a standard feature, as well as an optional feature on the upcoming Cadillac ATS as well. Cadillac CUE offers a bunch of cool, new features that make driving more fun Connectivity: CUE seamlessly connects you to a world of content. Its available 3D GPS navigation system has map-integrated Doppler weather reports. It accesses every contact and song on your Bluetooth-enabled smartphone. It reads text messages aloud and streams Pandora Radio. With downloadable custom apps, its content possibilities are endless. With CUE, you are always connected. Convenience: CUE starts with a clean, uncluttered design. From there, intuition takes over. Spread your fingers to zoom in closer on a map. Swipe to breeze through your music. Program the homepage to keep your favorites front and center. With fewer buttons and more intelligent controls, CUE also offers natural voice recognition, allowing you to effortlessly place phone calls and play music. Control: Proximity-sensing technology detects your hand as it approaches the 8-inch LCD touch screen. When an icon is pressed, the screen pulses to acknowledge the command, keeping your eyes safely on the road. Even the gauge cluster is reconfigurable (select models), offering four display layouts that mix vehicle data ...
