Learn Biblical Hebrew - lesson 1 - Hebrew AlefBet | by eTeacherBiblical.com
Visit eTeacherBiblical.com for more information. In this lesson, we meet the Hebrew alphabet for the first time. We learn that the Hebrew alphabet has a very long history. In fact, the Western (Latin) alphabet and the Hebrew alphabet have the same origin. In our lessons, we talk about this development and show how it all started from a drawing of a picture that represented a word, which subsequently evolved into all Latin scripts. From here we learn our first 8 letters: ל/מ/נ/ר, and also the gutturals א/ה/ח/ר. Facebook: www.facebook.com

Learn Biblical Hebrew - lesson 20 - Qatal Verbs | by eTeacherBiblical.com
Visit: eteacherhebrew.com In this lesson, we begin our discussion of Hebrew verbs. Like the nouns, Hebrew verbs are composed of a root and a pattern. In contrast to English, the Hebrew verb changes form according to person, gender, and number, so each conjugation has a different form, for almost every subject. Many different terms have been used by Biblical Hebrew scholars to describe the various verb forms. We name each verb conjugation after the 3ms (third person masculine singular) form, using the example root ק-ט-ל. We will practice some Hebrew sentence using Qatal. Facebook: www.facebook.com

Learn Biblical Hebrew - lesson 8 - Hebrew Word Structure | by eTeacherBiblical.com
Visit: eteacherhebrew.com In this lesson we deal primarily with the structure of Hebrew words. Most Hebrew words are built from a set of root letters and from a pattern, into which these root letters are inserted. For example, the root מלך "to reign" gives us the related words מֶלֶךְ "king," מְלוּכָה "kingship, royalty," מִלְכָּה (personal name, probably meaning "queen"), מַמְלָכָה "kingdom," and מֹלֶךְ (personal name of a god, ie "divine ruler"). Learn Biblical Hebrew - lesson 27 - Review:Ruth, Con't | by eTeacherBiblical.com
Visit: eteacherhebrew.com The purpose of this lesson is to review the material of lessons 1-26. We read Ruth 3:1-4, 6-9 and focus on grammatical phenomena that we have already taught. One interesting word in the lesson is: "Goren". The גֹּרֶן "threshing-floor" is the place where the grain is gathered. It was located close to the city, apparently near the city gates. Two main things were done at the threshing-floor. First was the threshing (דַּיִשׁ), in which the chaff was separated from the grain. Then came the winnowing (זְרִיָּה), in which the grain and the chaff were thrown into the air. The wind would blow away the lighter chaff, and the heavier grain would fall back to the ground. Learn Biblical Hebrew - lesson 6 - Nouns and Adjectives | by eTeacherBiblical.com
Visit eTeacherBiblical.com for more information. In hebrew, every noun and adjective has both number (singular or plural) and gender (masculine or feminine). The masculine singular form has no special ending, but every other form has a suffix that marks the word as feminine singular (accentedָה ), masculine plural (ִ ים ), or feminine plural (וֹת). In our lessons, we look for some nouns and adjectives in several verses. One of the most interesting examples we deal with, is the noun: Elohim (God), which takes on the form of a plural noun. Learn Biblical Hebrew - lesson 3 - Hebrew Vowels | by eTeacherBiblical.com
Visit eTeacherBiblical.com for more information. This lesson is a fascinating journey into the evolvement of the Hebrew vowels. We will learn that in King David's period (10th c. BCE), when Hebrew was first written, the writers only used the consonants. This created difficulties for readers in those days. The solution to the problem was the addition of vowel letters, a process which unfolded in several stages. The last stage took place in one of the most beautiful places in Israel, near the Sea of Galilee. We will also meet our first two vowels: A Facebook: www.facebook.com

Learn Biblical Hebrew - lesson 4 - Hebrew Vowels EIOU | by eTeacherBiblical.com
Visit eTeacherBiblical.com for more information. In this lesson, we will meet the remaining basic Hebrew vowels: EIOU. The vowel, which is placed under each letter, is pronounced after the consonant. We will look for some vowels while reading Genesis 1:10: after God gathers the water in one place to separate it from the land. וַיִּקְרָא אֱלֹהִים׀ לַיַּבָּשָׁה אֶרֶץ וּלְמִקְוֵה הַמַּיִם קָרָא יַמִּים: 1:10 God called the dry land Earth, and the gathering of waters He called Seas. Learn Biblical Hebrew - lesson 10 - The Definite Article | by eTeacherBiblical.com
Visit: eteacherhebrew.com In this lesson we will learn about the definite article. The definite article ("the") is used in Hebrew, in generally the same way as it is used in English. The definite article marks something or somebody specific. Definite articles take several forms. In order for us to be familiar with the definite article, we look into Genesis 1:1, among other verses. There we see the first two nouns: "the heavens" השמים and "the earth" ,הארץ as definite nouns.
