EWQL Symphonic Orchestra - Battle #2
Took a while!
This one follows my original plan of creating a set of battle themes. It's loopable just like the previous one - I didn't bother with copying since it's long enough as it is, but it can be played indefinitely.

In the Mesopotamian region around the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, along with the Egyptian civilization, this civilization developed. Due to the constant wars, it was unable to have a constant political unity. It is the Sumerian-Akkadian civilization, developed between 4000 and 1900 before Christ. After is the Assyrian-Babylonian civilization, which sits in the mountainous northern regions, between the XVI to the VI centuries before Christ. From the VI century, subdued and dominated by the Persians, ceases to exist as an independent civilization and lives within the Persian culture. The artistic stages can be summarized in Sumerian stage, Akkadian stage, Neo-Sumerian and Babylonian stage, Assyrian stage and Persian stage.
The Sumerian civilization emerged upon the flood plain of the lower reaches of the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers about 4000 B.C. The Sumerian communities were city states organized around a temple and ruled by a priesthood. It was never a unified state, but that was constituted by various city-state independent and sovereign (Ur, Eridu, Uruk, Lagash, Unma... ruled by a patesi.
Architecture: due to the lack of other materials, built their buildings in adobe or brick and were the first to use the arch and vault. Sometimes lined the outside of the palaces with glazed bricks, which made them shine. His major works were palaces and temples.
Temple of Eridu: built on a platform on which stands a large mass. Has articulated walls and columns attached.
White Temple (Uruk): it is a building shaped in an artificial mountain oriented to the cardinal points, with rectangular tripartite plant and which is accessed via a staircase that led into a large square.
Temple of Khafadye: fortified temple with a double wall in which stays rooms for religious functions, but also for other uses, as commercial and administrative uses.
Ziggurat: is like a stepped tower with a temple in the top.
Sculpture: little and easy-make sculptures. You can see the kaunakés, that type of skirt, as the characteristic beard and the lapis lazuli eyes. Sculptures in the round or reliefs.
Sculptures in the round.
Tell Asmar sculpture hoard: the bigger ones are deities, and the others, prayers. Schematic, with reduced volumes to geometric features. The skirt is conical. Prayer attitude, lapis lazuli eyes very opened, seeing the divinity.
Statue of Ebih-Il: it's the classical sumerian prototype. You see the prayer attitude, the lapis lazuli eyes, the beard, the kaunakés and the smile.
Singer of Ur-Nina (Ur-Nansha): crossed legs, with kaunakés, and she is sit. Accentuated smile and symmetrical hair.
Priestess: feminin figure in a throne. You can see the kaunakés.
Mask of Warka: also known as the Lady of Warka, it is believed that represents Inanna, the goddess mother, very naturalist, and it's one of the first pieces that represent a woman face.
Reliefs.
Standard of Ur: it is a wooden trapezoidal box. In each of the panels was a mosaic of inlaid shells, red limestone and lapis lazuli subject to a wooden base with bitumen. Its original function is uncertain. It has two sides or panels. The War Panel depicts a military victory. The Peace Panel depicts a parade of animals and tributes for a banquet. All characters are represented partially in profile (face and legs) and partially in front (shoulders and eyes). Their place in society is evidenced by the size, clothing and position.
Stela of Ur-Nanshe (Ur-Nina): quadrangular pieces of stone with a hole in the center where are represented banquets, fishing, fighting, building construction or practices of worship.
Stele of the Vultures: represents one side the victory of Eannatum King of Lagash over the city of Umma and other ceremonies held after the battle.
Tell el Obeid relief: it was found in pieces and was put so, but it is not known how it was put really. Shows the great realism with which they did the animals. Lion-headed eagle. Its symbolism is not known.
Vase of Uruk (Warka Vase): cult functions, represents the idea of fecundity. From down to up: plants, humans, and rituals.
Royal Cemetery of Ur: where found lots of things.
Harp: fantastic harp with bull head.
Sumerian Game: this mean that they could play, so they lived well.
Sumerian Billy Goat: represents a bull, but its utility is not known.
Heardress of Puabi: made of gold, lapis lazuli and coral.
Meskalamdug Helmet: made of gold. Decorated pretending to simulate the hair and ears.
Cylinder seals: small pieces to create a serie.
