Alwar
Alwar (Rajasthani: अलवर) is a city and administrative headquarters of Alwar District in the state of Rajasthan, India. It is located around 160 km south of Delhi, and about 150 km north of Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan.
India's highest ever recorded temperature of 50.6 °C (123.1 °F) was measured at Alwar on 10 May 1956.
Alwar was formerly the capital of the princely state of Alwar. It was formerly spelt as "Ulwar" in British India. This placed it in last position in alphabetically ordered lists, so a king changed the spelling to "Alwar" to bring it to the top.^{[citation needed]}

Awadh
Awadh (Awadhi, Hindi: अवध, Urdu: اودھ pronunciation (help·info)), established around 1722 AD with Faizabad as its capital and Sadat Ali Khan as its first Nawab and progenitor of Nawabs of Awadh. Delhi
Delhi (/ˈdɛli/; locally pronounced Dillee or Dehli), officially the National Capital Territory of Delhi (NCT), is the largest metropolis by area and the second-largest metropolis by population in India. Dholpur
Dholpur (also Dhaulpur Rajasthani: धौलपुर) is a city in eastern-most parts of the Rajasthan state of India. It is the administrative headquarters of Dholpur District and was formerly seat of the Dholpur princely state, before Independence.
Dhaulpur became a separate district in 1982 comprising four tehsils of Bharatpur: Dholpur, Rajakhera, Bari and Baseri. It is bordered by Bharatpur district of Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh to the north, Madhya Pradesh to the south, Karauli district to the west and Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh to the east.
Dholpur, according to the Epics, was initially known as Dhawalgiri, later on Dhaulagir, and now as Dholpur. Before the battle of Mahabharat this whole area was under the Yadavs whose different branches were spread over the entire area extending from the south of the river Chambal. The key to the ancient history of Dholpur is the ruins of strength the fort which is on the bank of river Chambal.
During the second phase of ancient history, he asked Indra to allow him to sleep peacefully and if anyone should wake him up, Muchukund’s angry gaze would burn him to ashes. Mahabharat reveals that during one of the battles with the demons Krishna came to the spot where Muchukund was sleeping. He put his pitamber on the sleeping Muchukund. The demon thinking him to be Krishna woke him up, and thus the demon was burnt to ashes, and thus the life of Krishna was saved. The event took place, in a spot very near to the Muchukund Ji’s temple, where the ruins of old palaces still exist. The appearance of these, however does not seem to be that old.

Faridabad (Hindi: फरीदाबाद) is a city in the south-east of Haryana state in northern India, in Faridabad district. It lies at 28°25′16″N Latitude and 77°18′28″E Longitude. Faridabad is the largest city and one of the major industrial hubs of Haryana. It generates 60% of the revenue of the state. 50% of the income tax collected in Haryana is from Faridabad and Gurgaon. Faridabad is famous for heena production from the agricultural sector while tractors, motorcycles, switch gears, refrigerators, shoes and tyres are the famous industrial products of the city.

Garhwal the land of many ‘GAHRS’ meaning forts. This region was made up of many small forts which were ruled by chieftains. Therefore, the history of Garhwal before the dynastic rule of the ‘Panwar’ rulers is very obscure. Kanak Pal was the first ruler of the state of Garhwal in 823 AD.
The Garhwal Himalayas have nurtured civilization from the wee hours of history. It appears to have been a favorite locale for the voluminous mythology of the Puranic period. The traditional name of Garhwal was Uttarakhand and excavations have revealed that it formed part of the Mauryan Empire.

Gird (also can be known as Gopasetra in ancient times, or Gwalior region later) is a region of Madhya Pradesh state in central India. It includes the districts of Bhind, Gwalior, Morena, Sheopur, and Shivpuri. Gwalior is the largest city in the region, and its historic center.

Haryana /ˌhɑriˈɑːnə/ is a state in India. Constituted in 1966, it is one of two newly created states carved out of the greater Punjab province as a means of creating a stronger national identity. It has been a part of the Kuru region in North India. The name Haryana is found mentioned in the 12th century AD by the apabhramsha writer Vibudh Shridhar (VS 1189-1230). Sites in Haryana were part of the Indus Valley and Vedic Civilizations. Several decisive battles were fought in the area, which shaped much of the history of India. These include the epic battle of Mahabharata at Kurukshetra mentioned in the Hindu mythology (including the recital of the Bhagavad Gita by Krishna), and the three battles of Panipat. Haryana was administered as part of the Punjab province of British India, and was carved out on linguistic lines as India's 17th state in 1966. Haryana is now a leading contributor to the country's production of foodgrain and milk. Agriculture is the leading occupation for the residents of the state, the flat arable land irrigated by submersible pumps and an extensive canal system. Haryana contributed heavily to the Green Revolution that made India self-sufficient in food production in the 1960s.

The very structure of Jaipur resembles the taste of the Rajputs and the Royal families. At present, Jaipur is a major business centre with all requisites of a metropolitan city.
Some of the famous areas in Jaipur include Mansarovar, the largest housing colony in Asia, Sanganer, famous for handmade paper industry and Sanganeri hand block-printing, Bapu Nagar, Malviya Nagar and Vaishali Nagar.
The city is remarkable among pre-modern Indian cities for the width and regularity of its streets which are laid out into six sectors separated by broad streets 34 m (111 ft) wide. The urban quarters are further divided by networks of gridded streets. Five quarters wrap around the east, south, and west sides of a central palace quarter, with a sixth quarter immediately to the east. The Palace quarter encloses a sprawling palace complex, (Hawa Mahal), formal gardens, and a small lake. Nahargarh Fort, which was the residence of the King Sawai Jai Singh II, crowns the hill in the northwest corner of the old city. The observatory, Jantar Mantar, is one of the World Heritage Sites. Included on the Golden Triangle tourist circuit, along with Delhi and Agra, Jaipur is an extremely popular tourist destination in Rajasthan and India.

Malwa (Devnagari: मालवा,) is a natural region in west-central northern India occupying a plateau of volcanic origin.
Geologically, the Malwa Plateau generally refers to the volcanic upland south of the Vindhya Range. Politically and administratively, the historical Malwa region includes districts of western Madhya Pradesh and parts of south-eastern Rajasthan. The definition of Malwa is sometimes extended to include the Nimar region north of the Vindhyas.
The Malwa region had been a separate political unit from the time of the ancient Malava Kingdom. It has been ruled by several kingdoms and dynasties, including the Avanti Kingdom, the Mauryans, the Guptas, the Parmaras, the Malwa sultans, the Mughals and the Marathas. Malwa continued to be an administrative division until 1947, when the Malwa Agency of British India was merged into Madhya Bharat (also known as Malwa Union) state of independent India.
Although its political borders have fluctuated throughout history, the region has developed its own distinct culture, influenced by the Rajasthani, Marathi and Gujarati cultures. Several prominent people in the history of India have hailed from Malwa, including the poet and dramatist Kalidasa, the author Bhartrihari, the mathematicians and astronomers Varahamihira and Brahmagupta, and the polymath king Bhoja. Ujjain had been the political, economic, and cultural capital of the region in ancient times, and Indore is presently the largest city and commercial centre.

Nuh
Nuh is the district headquarters of the Mewat district in the Indian state of Haryana. It lies on the Delhi-Alwar highway and is about 45 kilometres from Gurgaon.The town assumed importance in the time of Bahadur Singh of Ghasera because of the trade in Salt which was manufactured in the neighbouring villages.
To the west of the town is a fine masonry tank of red sandstone with a chhatri possibly connected with the name of Chuhi Mal, adorned with beautiful floral designs. The tomb of Sheikh Musa, an exemplary structure combining the Muslim and Rajput forms of architecture, is at a distance of about 2 and a half kilometres from town.
Nuh is located at 28°07′N 77°01′E / 28.12°N 77.02°E / 28.12; 77.02. It has an average elevation of 199 metres (652 feet). It is just 70 km from the Indian capital New Delhi. It is located in the far south west area of Haryana.

Pals
Pals is a medieval town in Catalonia, northern Spain a few kilometres from the sea in the heart of the Bay of Emporda on the Costa Brava. It lies on the C31 Palafrugell-L'Estartit road.
Pals has a historic centre on a hill surrounded by plains with a medieval Romanesque tower built between the 11th and 13th centuries, known as the Torre de les Hores (Tower of the Hours).
The Gothic Quarter of the town has been substantially restored and there are cobbled streets interrupted by semicircular arches, façades with pointed arched windows and stone balconies. The town wall contains four square towers which date from the 4th century. The Josep Pla viewpoint (from which can be seen the fields of Empordà and the Medes Islands), the Plaça Major, the tombs in the Carrer Major and the church of Sant Pere are other features of the town. There is an Archaeology Museum.
On the edge of the main town is Masos de Pals, which has a thriving urban centre and is popular as a location for holiday homes Platja de Pals ("Pal's Beach") is also a popular holiday location.

Pinangwan (Hindi: पिनगवां) is located at 27.90°N, 77.10°E in National Capital Region of Delhi (NCR), in Mewat district (formerly Gurgaon) in Haryana. It is located at Main District Road 131 of Haryana, 9 km from Gurgaon Alwar State Highway and 28 km from National Highway 2(Delhi to Mathura). It is located around 100 km south of Delhi, and about 370 km south of Chandigarh, the capital of Haryana. As the town falls on southern edge of the border of Haryana, it is very near to Alwar and Bharatpur Districts of Rajasthan and Mathura District of Uttar Pradesh.
According to 2001 census, Pinangwan had a population of 8441. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Pinangwan has an average literacy rate of 46%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 57%, and female literacy is 30%.
Pinangwan is an old town. Qazi Dost Mohammad was the Qazi of Pinangwan during 17th century. He had one daughter Bibi Rabiya and two sons Deewan Idris Mohammad and Durwesh Mohammad. Bibi Rabiya was married to Qazi Abdul Baqi son of Qazi Ibrahim ibn Qazi Mahmood ibn Hākim-e Shariah Shareef Qazi-e Aazam ibn Qazi Ziauddin.

One of the world's oldest mountain ranges, the Aravalli Range, cradles the only hill station of Rajasthan, Mount Abu, famous for Dilwara Temples, a sacred pilgrimage for Jains. Eastern Rajasthan has the world famous Keoladeo National Park near Bharatpur, a World Heritage Site known for its bird life. It also has two national tiger reserves, Ranthambore and Sariska Tiger Reserve, and a famous temple in Khatu, Sikar district, dedicated to Khatu Shyam Ji. Sihri or Sihiri is a small village located in Mewat district (Nuh) in the Haryana state, in India. Sihri is 5 km away from Punahana. The Village is located at the bottom of a small hill, in an area shaped like the letter "C". The literacy rate is around 55—60%. In May 2009, after months of media and public protests, supported by several environmental groups, the Supreme Court banned mining in a 448 km² area across the Faridabad, Gurgaon and Mewat districts in Haryana. Previously reserved for national park lands, the change followed an earlier judgment in 1994 which allowed limited mining on the basis of the sustainable development principle, and under strict guidelines. The court ruled that these principles had been violated by local miners...

Babur
Zahir-ud-din Muhammad Babur (February 14, 1483 – December 26, 1530; sometimes also spelt Baber or Babar) was a conqueror from Central Asia who, following a series of setbacks, finally succeeded in laying the basis for the Mughal dynasty in the Indian Subcontinent and became the first Mughal emperor. He was a direct descendant of Timur through his father, and a descendant also of Genghis Khan through his mother. Babur identified his lineage as Timurid and Chaghatay-Turkic. He was greatly influenced by Persian culture and this affected both his own actions and those of his successors, giving rise to a significant expansion of the Persianate ethos in the Indian subcontinent.
Ẓahīr ad-Dīn Muḥammad (Persian: ﻇﻬﻴﺮﺍﻟﺪﻳﻦ محمد‎, also known by his royal titles as al-ṣultānu 'l-ʿazam wa 'l-ḫāqān al-mukkarram bādshāh-e ġāzī), is more commonly known by his nickname, Bābur (بابر).
According to Stephen Frederic Dale, the name Babur is derived from the Persian word babr, meaning "tiger", a word that repeatedly appears in Firdawsī's Shāhnāma and had also been borrowed by the Turkic languages of Central Asia. This thesis is supported by the Royal Asiatic Society of Great Britain and Ireland, explaining that the Turko-Mongol name Timur underwent a similar evolution, from the Sanskrit word cimara ("iron") via a modified version *čimr to the final Turkicized version timür, with -ür replacing -r due to the Turkish vowel harmony (hence babr → babür).^{[citation needed]}

Raja Hasan Khan, Raja Hasan Khan Mewati, Raja Hasan, Hasan Khan, Hasan Mewati, (died March 17 1527), was an ambitious Khanzada Rajput Muslim ruler of Mewat. His dynasty had ruled Mewat for nearly 200 years it is believed that his ancestor converted to Islam when requested by Firuz Shah Tughlaq in the year 1376. He was killed in the Battle of Khanwa (March 1527) against the first Mughal Emperor Babur, the invader to Delhi's throne at that time. His son Naher Khan ruled Mewat as a vassal of Mughals.

He was entitled 'Islam Khan' and ‘Barkhurdar Khan’ by Emperor Bahadur Shah I and remained in many important posts during the successive rules of Bahadur Shah I, Jahandar Shah, Farrukhsiyar, Rafi ud Darajat, Shah Jahan II and Muhammad Shah.
Barkhurdar Khan II aka Mian Kheesa was the son of Barkhurdar Khan I and great-grandson of Islam Khan I. Barkhurdar Khan II was Mansabdar Punj Hazari (5,000) and also entitled 'Islam Khan' by Shah Alam I and had Mansab 'Darogha Dīwān-e-Khās' (Superintendent of the Diwan-i-Khas) and Khalat-e Fakhra and Khalat-e Barani. He was 'Mir Atash' (the ‘master gunner’) to Bahadur Shah I before retirement from court, but was restored to his rank of 5,000 (3,000 horse), and appointed Mir Tuzak Awwal (chief Mir Tuzak / quarter-master general).
This ‘Islam Khan’ (d. 1144 AH, 1731–2 AD) was one Mir Ahmad, first ‘Barkhurdar Khan’, then ‘Islam Khan’, son of Safi Khan (d. 1105 AH 1693–4 AD), the second son of Abdus-salam, first ‘Ikhtisas Khan’, then ‘Islam Khan’, Mashhadi, (d. 1057 AH 1647-8).

He died on 20 Muharram 1129 AH/1716 and buried in Ferozepur Jhirka. In another book, his date of death is mentioned as last days of dhul Hijjah 1122 AH / 1710 AD. However, an epitaph from Ferozepur Jhirka, places the death of Kartalab Khan Bahadur, son of Shaikh Muhammad Asaf in AH 1123 (AD 1711)

The modern Mewat district (highlighted)

Mewat (मेवात) is a historical region of Haryana and Rajasthan states in northwestern India. The loose boundaries of Mewat are not precisely determined but generally include Mewat District of Haryana and parts of Alwar, Bharatpur, and Dholpur districts of Rajasthan.^[1] The region roughly corresponds to the ancient kingdom of Matsya, founded in the 5th century BCE.

Mewat district is a district of Haryana state in India. It is located at southern edge of Haryana. Its area is 1,912 square km and the population is one million. It is semi-arid and its economy is mainly rain-fed agriculture. Nuh is the district headquarter of Mewat.

The Muslim inhabitants of Mewat are called Meos (मेव). The areas of the three districts where Meos live are collectively called Mewat. Mewat has 1200 villages: 550 in Haryana, 600 in Rajasthan and 50 in UP.^{[citation needed]}

Hasan Khan Mewati was a well known chieftain from Mewat. He fought against Babur in the Battle of Khanwa in 1527. The Delhi–Gurgaon–Alwar–Jaipur highway used to pass through Mewat until the late 1960s when the new national highway NH 8 was constructed bypassing Mewat.

Main article: Meo

The Muslim inhabitants of Mewat are called Meo (मेव) and meena hindu in Rajasthan. Most of the population of Mewat is of Meo Muslims. They converted from Meena under Sufi influence in 13th century. Meos follow the clan cuture of Pals and Gotra like Hindus Kshatriyas. Meos are divided into 13 pals and 52 gotras.

Even after conversion to Islam they retained their Mahabharata culture by creating Gotras and Pals for marriages and social interaction. They can still trace back their brotherhood and links with Meena, Rajputs, Ahirs and Gujjars in the nearby villages in the region.

Meos speak Mewati dialect, a slight variant of the Haryanvi and Rajasthani dialects, of Hindi and live in a tribal culture. The culture and gotra of meos is same as Meena tribe in Rajasthan. Meena and Meos are live as brother in Rajasthan. The majority is uneducated and is currently classed under Other Backward Class (OBC). Mewati Gharana is well known Gharana of Indian classical music. Mirasi singers keep a wonderful tradition of oral history of their Meo patrons.

Mewat district was a part of Gurgaon district and Faridabad district of Haryana until 2004. It became a district in 2005. It is predominantly rural with a few small towns.

Though the district is in the National Capital Region (NCR) and just 50 km from Delhi airport, it has remained undeveloped. The industrial estates created by Haryana State Industrial Development Corporation (HSIDC) remained underutilised. However, due to expansion of building activities in nearby Gurgaon, the land prices in Mewat have gone up considerably and the land is being bought by investors and developers. This has benefited people who have sold or are selling their agricultural land.

Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) has proposed to develop residential neighbourhoods in Rangala and Pinangwan.

A new Alwar-Palwal railway line through Hathin, Pinangwan and Ferozepur Jhirka towns has been suggested. A Gurgaon-Nuh-Alwar railway line has also been proposed. But both these railway lines have remained un-built. Kundli-Manesar-Palwal expressway is being constructed through the northern fringe of Mewat. It bypasses Delhi while coming from just north of Delhi by National Highway 1 (NH 1) and connects to National Highway 2 (NH 2) near Palwal. Double-laning work of Nuh-Hodal and Nagina-Pinangwan-Hodal (MDR 131) roads is also in progress.

Haryana Wakf Board has set up its first engineering college in Mewat. The construction of the college in Palla village near Nuh is in full swing on 16 acres (6.5 ha) of land. A medical college in village Nalhar near Nuh is also under construction.

Asif Ali was born on 4 February 1986 in ranni. Later his family shifted to Karikkode near Thodupuzha in Idukki. His father's name is M.P. Shoukath Ali of Maravettikal House and mother's name is Molly. M.P. Shoukath Ali was the former Municipal Chairman of Thodupuzha Municipality. Asif also have a younger brother named Askar Ali. His initial schooling was at De Paul Public School, Thodupuzha and Rajarshi Memorial School, Puthankurishu, Ernakulam. He did his degree in Business Administration from Marian College, Kuttikkanam. One of his album song was "Aadhyamayi.." in Himamazhayil album.^[1] While pursuing a degree abroad, he modelled for ads, worked as a video jockey and was selected by Shyamaprasad to play one of the lead roles in his film Ritu.^[2] His family members wanted Asif to become an Engineer or business man but he wanted to become a film actor. Only after the release of the movie Ritu did Asif's family realize that he had acted in a film. But now the family members are happy to see him as a leading actor.

Asif Ali made debut through Shyamaprasad's musical film Ritu,^[3] co-starring Nishan and Rima Kallingal. He was then approached by Sathyan Anthikadu [Kadha Thudarunnu, starring Jayaram and Mamta Mohandas in the lead roles. This film was a runaway success and completed 75 days all over Kerala. In his third film Apoorvaragam, directed by veteran Sibi Malayil, he again co-acted with Nishan. He has completed M. A. Nishadh's Best Of Luck^[4] and debutante Rajesh Kannamkara's Ithu Nammude Katha.^[5] Rajesh Pillai's Traffic, written by Sanjay & Bobby, starring Sreenivasan, Kunchacko Boban, Vineeth Sreenivasan and Roma was a big hit. Asif's next movies were Violin directed by Sibi Malayil with Nithya Menon as the heroine of the film and then Salt N' Pepper directed by Aashiq Abu starring Lal, Mythili, Shwetha Menon in which he played one of the main role was also a big hit. Other recent performances include role in Sevenes directed by Joshiy and in Indian Rupee and Doctor Love in which he did the cameo appearance. Asuravithu and Unnam were his next films. His latest film is debutant director Sugeeth's Ordinary.

Dr. Sanjay Saini is a renowned radiologist at Harvard Medical School. He was in the news in New York Times in 2003 in relation to collaboration with offshore radiologists to provide health care in America.^[1]^[2]

Dr. Saini earned his MD from Tufts Medical School, Boston, MA. He is currently Professor of Radiology, at Harvard Medical School and Vice Chairman for Finance, Department of Radiology, at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, MA, USA^[3]^[4]
